Grawlix Cocktail Lounge — Restaurant in Dripping Springs

I read some of these reviews and it is not at all what I experienced! This place is a scam!!!

First, if you are going to charge $16 for a cocktail with 4 liquors in it, don't put 2.5 ounces in total into a little kids dark plastic cup and call it a day. Two sips it was gone. I asked others sitting around us and they all had the same complaint!! They were like yeah, the wine pour here is even worse. They could fill the cup with some ice or anything if that's how cheap you are, but to me this 1/4 volume in a small dark cup is deceitful. We talked to shop owners along the way who alllll said the same thing. Why no one speaks up is crazy, as a business you should know what people say behind your back.

Next. For some reason my card wouldn't swipe and we had ordered food as well, she asked me to pre pay. Ok. No problem. But where there is a problem is when you want your tip prepaid too. How do I know how service will be? Considering she came back once in the 90 minutes we ate and had our two sips, I wouldn't have left a tip at all. Tips are for service, which I prepaid for but definitely never received!!!

Here's the scam part. Their POS machine offers several tip options. On the left the first selection which on every other POS machine is the lowest, theirs is 40%!!!! Are you kidding me???? So 40% is ridiculous but to put it in that slot I bet many have mistaken this in the dark room and got screwed.

Maybe I should ask that you guys tip me 40% for serving myself water? Yep.

The atmosphere is nice, but what a really bad business model full of deceit and weird tip...

I highly recommend the cardamom cocktail. I also had the warm brie with pears and it was great on the Rosemary toast. I have met a friend here a couple times before and every time we both have enjoyed the unique variety of cocktails and the delicious gourmet hors d'oeuvres. I have never tried their beers or whines because I can't get past the unique cocktails but they do offer a good variety of beers and wines. This is a place to sit with a friend and enjoy a relaxed conversation. Although I always leave full from the hors d'oeuvres it is not a place a typical full meal. The seating is very unique. To be honest some of the seats are not very comfortable. But there is a great variety and lots of pillows available to adjust the back. I strongly recommend this place Dripping...

This was a unique and fun place to happen upon. Very eclectic and vibey. It's the little details that make the experience go from cool to really awesome. The cocktails are beautiful, like little works of art in a glass. They taste fantastic too. The different pieces of art or decor, a hidden bookcase door to the other side of the bar, the comic strip wall, all of it comes together in a way I can't really describe. It feels like a gloomy or drab elegance. We tried several cocktails, and a few different food items, it wasn't typical bar food either.
