Rugosa Gallery — Attraction in Eastham

I recently attended an event at Rugosa Gallery and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. From the moment I arrived, I felt completely ignored by both the owner and staff. Despite being a guest at the space, no one made any effort to acknowledge me, check in, or ensure that I felt welcome.

The venue itself has potential, but the lack of hospitality and attention was shocking—especially when attending an event where you expect at least some level of basic courtesy. Instead, I left feeling unwelcome, overlooked, and honestly unhappy with the whole experience.

For a place that markets itself as a gallery and event space, you would think customer service would be a priority. Sadly, that was not the case. I cannot recommend Rugosa Gallery based on...

i really wanted to like this place, but my stay at Rugosa Inn was disappointing from start to finish. The room felt outdated and not very clean, with noticeable dust in corners and a musty smell that never went away. The bed was uncomfortable, and the linens didn’t feel fresh.

The amenities that were advertised online didn’t match reality—Wi-Fi was spotty at best, and the so-called “common spaces” felt neglected. Noise carried through the walls, making it hard to relax or sleep. For the price, I expected a much higher level of comfort and upkeep. No staff anywhere to assist and owner ignored phone calls

The location in Eastham is convenient, but that’s really the only positive. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t stay here again or recommend...

The Rugosa Gallery was a huge disappointment. I wish I could give 0 stars. The Rugosa was supposed to host my wedding welcome dinner, and we started planning the event a year in advance. We met with the owner, Joey Rugosa, twice and exchanged many emails. We were first concerned when Joey changed his prices several times. Finally, he totally ghosted my husband and me 3 months before our wedding. He did not respond to any of our many phone calls or emails. The worst part is that he never returned our deposit, and we still haven't heard back from him six months later. We are reasonable people and would have understood if Joey could not do our event. Instead, he caused incredible stress before an incredibly important day...
