Best Western Delta Inn — Hotel in Effingham

Would give this motel less stars if I could, we just spent from Wednesday 9/14/16 until Sunday 9/18/16 here, we stayed here along with others for the Middle America Corvette Fest one of the biggest car shows, our stay was awful, First off we were lied to , called 2 weeks before to confirm our reservation since we made them the day we left a year ago, we requested rooms on the 1st floor next to our freinds, never did they tell us it was under construction, in fact we were told there's was new patio furniture and tables, because we enjoy sitting outside and talking of terristic dinner, so when we arrived there were NO 1st floor rooms, the manager Matt was rude wouldn't even discuss us being moved closer together, he charged us the higher rate for Wed night the price for which was higher for Thursday thru Sunday because of the Corvette Fest, and the 1st floor Hall was in passable, I ended up with metal shavings in my feet because the elevator was full I had sandals on and even after complaining the shavings were only partly sweep up, The parking lot was full of nails and screws on the last day our freinds ended up with a flat and 3 screws in a tire, We hea4d theyb weren't the only ones, and we unable to cancel our room on Monday 9/13/16 due to illness, Matt said we could cancel but we'd be charged for all of the days so my husband ended up going , and spending 2days in the bed. so sick he couldn't get up. Contacted Best Western whose signs is out front , they contacted Matt but we've not received a call or a email back so evedentily as long as they got your money...

Oh, my gosh. I had to leave a review and we haven’t even slept yet. We came without reservations and asked for two rooms, Edie is the BEST! I was going to sign up for rewards to save money, and her system was giving her issues, but she gave us the reward price anyway because she had already quoted us that price. I told her I’d try to sign up later on, and before I even could she had gotten us signed up and brought me the paper form to show me. They gave us tickets for the bar to get drinks (we didn’t get to it in time but the thought was awesome!) I thought the site had washers and dryers and it didn’t, so after I had hand washed my baby’s clothes in the sink (didn’t have any extra that were clean) I tried to dry them outside, that didn’t work (lol) and Edie said if they were clean she could dry them for me which was just above and beyond for my baby girl. She gave us a complimentary crib to use and brought a baby sheet for the mattress and a baby blanket. She even brought me my babies clothes once they were dry. Don’t go anywhere else, if you need to stay somewhere GO HERE. I’m a stickler for spending money, but we took a chance to go here and now best western has new forever customers, though it’s gonna be hard to beat Edies customer service. The room is super clean and the lobby is beautiful, very cozy, the bathroom perfect, the soap and shampoos they provided great quality, the bed so comfy and I can’t wait to get a good nights sleep. We drove for 15 hours and had booked Best Western Delta thru hotel.com. when we arrived Alicia checked us in. She was very efficient and helpful. Gave us information on where to go for a quick dinner. I asked if the coffee dispensers were filled at 3:30 am because that would be the time we would be leaving. Alicia said she would nake sure the night person made fresh coffee for us. Sure enough when we came down at 3:30 am I could smell the fresh coffee when we stepped off of the elevator. :0)...not often you get that personal service these days. Alicia also came right up to our room the evening before when we could not get any sound out if the tv......just as she got to our room it started working...lol....the bed was wonderfully comfortable. Room extremely clean. I would highly recommend this hotel. The girl at the desk at 3:30 am was just as helpful I just didn't get her name. I have stayed in hotels that cost more (last week) and had to wake the gentleman at the front desk when we left at 5am. People have forgotten that the person at the front desk is the "face" if the establishment. If they are not nice that is your impression of that company......I will now always look for a...
