Panda Express — Restaurant in Effingham

I waited until this store was open and happen to be their very first customer today. It was clean, the staff was warm and welcoming.

Some of my favorite items weren't on the line just yet and I really couldn't afford to wait any longer so, I got something new and one item I usually get (it's been months since I last had something from this chain).

As the line person got my order, I headed to the register. I noticed a new flavor of lemonade and ordered that as well after a sample. My total was nearly $20. This was to be my dinner so I asked for it to go.

About 4p I heated my meal for dinner. I was hungry to say the least and for a moment I thought my taste buds were off but, this food had no flavor at all. It tasted like bland water. I sat it down and thought "let me drink some water". Nope, that didn't help either.

Unfortunately, I am nowhere close to this store and don't know when the next time I will be, but I mentioned this to my daughter she reminded me... I thought we said we weren't going to that chain anymore. The food has been getting progressively worst and then it came to me. Checking this place off the list...

Went there tonight October 3rd 2023. The main dishes were good! But the fried rice tasted like plain white rice with a little chemical taste to it. The service wasn't horrible. Not sure if the drive thru person was just stressed or overwhelmed, but ordering with her was basic, she didn't know the menu. They were out of the string bean chicken breast. So my wife asked her what other chicken do you all have and she didn't know what other chicken was on the menu. So my wife just got an extra orange chicken because we don't know the menu. We go to panda express once every six or nine months maybe. There's not one near us in breese, Illinois. I feel like alot of opportunities were missed on her part. My wife and I are previous restaurant owners. Training doesn't stop after they've been there a month or two. Anyways. Wasn't horrible, but wasn't anything to...

I'd never had Panda Express until this visit, but it was DELICIOUS. I got the sesame chicken and my mom got the roasted veggies and something else I can't remember, but they were both so good! Not only were they tasty, but they gave you HUGE portions. I couldn't finish it all! I also got their crab ragoons and mom got the egg roll, both of which were super tasty. The place was also very clean, the service good, and the line went through pretty fast considering we were there at peak business hours. My only complaint was that I stink at eating with chopsticks (I dropped them twice 😭) and couldn't find a fork to eat with instead. But I probably could've just asked and they'd given me one, so that's probably just my problem. Overall, awesome time.
