ALDI — Local services in Effingham

This is a wonderful german-based chain that carries a great variety of the most important things. The fresh fruits and vegetables there are amazing. You see a real focus on nutrition and not on marketing here. This is a wonderful breath of fresh air from the typical presentation at American supermarkets. This is certainly the way that selling food should be. Focus on goodness, focus on freshness, focus on giving us the things that are most important. It's the best place to go for implementing a Paleo, low carb, or other healthy lifestyle option. If you don't need the sugar, then they can support you with everything else. Of course if you want the sugary snacks they are there too, but at least to me it seems like it's not so much of an overwhelming presence as you see in other places. I have shopped at Aldi in Effingham IL for over 10 years. I use a rollater walker and put my bag on it to shop. I have always had understanding checkers to help me until today. When I asked the gal to put the groceries in my bag sitting on my walker she said they were not supposed to do that, i said everyone has done it for me before! She then proceeded to begin throwing my groceries in the bag on the walker and the one on the floor. I could feel her hostility as it was palpable. I cannot handle a cart as I need two hands on the walker. There was no thank you from her when she handed me my receipt. I wish now I had said something to her upon leaving. And it irritates me that there are no phone numbers to be found for a customer service complaint. IF I return and she is checking out, I will definitely turn around and leave. And if the older gentleman is at the register I will lodge a complaint...

I love aldi and every time I always get what I need with friendly faces until the last couple of times they have had this new checker that acts like she is working for NASCAR and doesn't mind treating you like you are slowing her down tonight while I was putting my groceries on the belt she just walks away and starts working on the floor right in the middle of ringing me up I will be talking to management I have worked in customer service and never treated people like that...
