I think Popeyes generally is pretty good for fast food and so when I moved to town I checked out the one in Effingham. The first couple of times weren't the best experiences, it was busy, they tended to be low/out of most of the sides, it seemed pretty hectic behind the counter and it took a while to get my food. I gave them the benefit of the doubt, fast food is a hard environment and maybe I just went at a bad time. The third time I went, however, was something I couldn't excuse. I went in and it was the usual, busy, hectic, and they were out of several things. Whatever. I get two meals (2 chicken sandwiches + 2 large fries) and stood aside to wait. The workers had stations and there was a young man at the counter packaging the food and calling it out. It was taking a longer time than usual to get my food and I watched him look at the monitor that had the orders listed and then at the food in front of him before he called a name that was not mine. I thought it should have been mine (as it was the two sandwiches and fries) but I figured I was just mistaken. Another customer grabbed the food and left with it. I waited and the next two people he called were not me either plus they were both people who ordered after me. The original customer came back with the bag of food and gave it to the young man at the counter who looked confused and gave the customer his correct order. The worker then looked at the monitors, looked at me, looked back at the monitors, and called out my name without even looking inside the bag to see if the other customer had eaten/touched any of the food. First of all, you should NEVER give out food that a customer brought back to you and you should NEVER EVER do it without even opening the bag to see if that customer did anything. That's just common sense without taking into consideration any food safety training he would have had to go through. I don't like causing a scene and they were busy, the worker did seem quite flustered but that is absolutely no excuse for this. I took the food and threw it away, and decided I wasn't ever going to go back to that Popeyes again. The food is not worth that kind of customer service. Train your staff better and hire more people. This...

One of the worst experiences I’ve ever had! I went into the restaurant because of a clear deal shown on the electronic screen: “10 Piece Chicken (Family Meal) + Large Side for $23.99” But even though the advertisement was right in front of me, they refused to honor it and said it wasn’t available!
So I placed a different order instead, but the food was terrible cold and tasted old, like it had been sitting there for hours.
To make things worse, the employee’s attitude was extremely rude and unprofessional, as if they didn’t care about customers at all.
Even though I’ve always liked Popeyes, unfortunately, choosing this location at that moment was a big mistake. There’s absolutely no reason to choose this branch, and I truly regret walking in.
What’s surprising is that this Popeyes is surrounded by much better restaurants like: Chipotle, Panera, Panda Express, Taco Bell, Shake & Shack, and many more. If this branch keeps treating customers this way, people will definitely stop coming.
I do NOT recommend this Popeyes at all a terrible experience from...
Read moreI'm sure they are hurting because of covid and lack of employees. Usually this is one of my favorite places to go. I haven't been here in quite a while. But this time the young person at the register was rude and didn't seem to understand what was going on in the least. They ran out of certain items we ordered but and like every employee ran at us telling us that they were almost closing, even though we really weren't worried about this issue. There was about 7 maybe 8 people Working of which 3 I think we're actually working. The kitchen manager was kind and seemed to be trying his hardest. A lady had asked a simple question about gift card and it took 4 of them gathered around the register talking amongst themselves and another girl came literally running from the back yelling "it crashes the system" the lady was still standing at the register waiting for an answer after all the employee s scattered finally she just said so is that a no.. . Ended up with dried out food and a weird experiences I really hope they get things situated. Masks e hanging on faces once dudes touching it...
