Wingate by Wyndham Elkins — Hotel in Elkins

This was the second time we stayed at the Wingate in Elkins. The rooms were decent and clean. They only clean every 3rd night. You do need to request clean towels and TP. Breakfast was okay. The real struggle is to BEWARE, they do double charge you for your room! They tell you this is “how their system works”. But they charge you twice for the room and then you have to wait several days for the double charge to be reversed. They tell you it is a “hold” but it is not! It is an actual charge. They charge you for the room, and then reverse the charge. And then charge you again. I was NOT impressed. I was told it was because I made my reservation online. I was told that they put the hold on the charge when you book, then charge when you arrive with the actual charge. The lady at the desk ran the card from the online reservation. And then revered it. And then charged the card again for the room. I could understand a security deposit or something like that. Or even an actual hold that is released the day you check out. But a double charge that you have to wait till it is reversed by your bank, NOT okay at all. We stayed 3 nights. So basically I got charged over $800 on my card for my stay. I definitely could have stay in an upgraded hotel for that kind of money. So PLEASE be aware before you book. Or use an online site, NOT...

We are returning guests. We originally chose this hotel because of its proximity to the event center where we were attending a show. We were very impressed with the hotel that we stay here whenever we are in Elkins. On this trip we were checked in and greeted by a young man named Eddie, who was in his first week on the job. He provided great first impression and was able to trouble shoot a problem I had with my room key. When you check in you can’t help but notice a spacious lobby with lovely furnishings including a fireplace surrounded by a couch and very comfortable chairs. Our room was large, the beds were comfortable and the towels were fluffy. The hotel is spotless! Someone was always cleaning, vacuuming and dusting Coffee, tea and hot chocolate are available 24 hours a day. The breakfast is amazing. There were waffles, eggs and bacon or sausage, yogurt, fresh fruit, pastries, bagels, English muffins and toast, as well as cereals, juices and of course, coffee. You could be persuaded to stay here just for the breakfast alone. I highly recommend staying at Wingate by Wyndham in Elkins...

Im 18 Me and my girlfriend needed a room we bad are house was almost 2 hours away and it was 2 am so we tried here my girlfriend had the money on her card but I was the one old enough to rent she 17 so we tired that but se said the card needed to match the ID so we just went out to the car switch the money over and went back in as we were switching the money over outside the front desk lady came out and apparently talked to her manager cause when we cam back in with the money on the card andthe I'd to match she immediately said no I just talked to my manager and we have the right to refuse anyone service which is true but we did nothing wrong and then as we walked out shocked she said and you can't hang out in the parking lot I nicly told her we were just moving money over and she was so rude and mean about the whole thing never again it also looked so sketchy this was a older long brown haired lady she didn't even try to talk to us or hear us out when we came in or when we came back in so rude an...
