Scottie’s of Elkins — Restaurant in Elkins

Have some friends that live in the area and they insisted we go to Scottie's for breakfast before we left town. I must say I'm glad we went. It was the best meal I've had in a very long time. Everything we ordered was freshly made not prepackaged like your chain restaurants. The biscuits and gravy was perfect, the first bite took me back to my childhood when I'd watch my grandmother stir like crazy as she thickened up a batch of sausage gravy for breakfast. I will never again go to or near Elkins WV again without stopping by Scottie's for a fabulous meal and I suggest you do the same. The menu has a fairly large selection with breakfast served all day, as a person that likes to leave reviews and share my experiences rather they be good or bad so maybe I can help someone else not have a bad experience I really pay attention to things like the boxes on thier shelves was all setting square and facing the same direction, things was very organized, the kitchen door was open and from our booth I had a perfect veiw. It was very very clean even underneath the counters you seen nothing on the floor. Its probably the cleanest restaurant I've ever stepped foot in. 20 minutes out of our way to eat at the best diner in Elkins... Absolutely wrong. The older lady, I'm assuming the owner or manager, threw the table mats down on the table. My sons friend was looking for a drink to order, was completely ignored and was given a sweet tea to drink. Same lady then brings napkins and wet silverware to the table and throws it down. I had ordered just a hot dog with mustard and onion and fries. The paper my fries was on was covered in some type of sauce, which was not on anything I had ordered. My son had ordered a simple hamburger, which was pink in the middle. My husband had ordered the Giovanni and fries. The bread was soggy and the sandwich a complete mess, and raw in the middle. We received our check... stuck on the bottom of my son's plate. Thankfully when he moved the plate he noticed it. Food disgusting. Staff rude and unattentive. Facility itself, dirty.

WARNING if you order online they lie about their prices. Ordered two items that should have been normal price. My lady goes into pay and paid triple the normal, Before she tipped them because she’s to damn sweet. If it were me I’d not have left. Drove a hour away before she told me the price. They said that their prices change once you get to the store when you’re about to pay for it. This is false advertising and I hope the owner or someone’s reaches out ASAP because this is going to be a small suit I’m not dealing with. My lawyers can do as they please cause I’m tired of business in Randolph doing this and getting away with it. Never changing it cause it fits how they want to run their business.
