HORRIBLE experience and we did not even stay at this hotel. The 4 Seasons Inn at Estes Park in CO was one of the worst experiences that my husband and I have ever had traveling. We made a reservation on April 6th. The GM Mark Matson sent an email stating our reservation was confirmed. On April 9th, we emailed stating that we needed to cancel our reservation due to plans changing and please accept this as our cancellation notification. The day we arrived in Estes Park on June 4th we received a phone call from Mark Matson stating that if we did not check in before 6:00pm that afternoon, there would be an additional charge to check-in any later. We explained to him that we cancelled our reservation back in April and were staying at a different hotel is Estes Park. Mark persistently kept telling my husband that they charged my card back in April for all 4 nights, which they did not. Per their policy, 4 Seasons Inn requires a deposit to be charged AT THE TIME OF RESERVATION. This deposit is equal to the total cost of a one (1) night stay or 50% of the cost for stays longer then two (2) nights. The remaining balance for your reservation total will be due UPON ARRIVAL/CHECK-IN. My account (the card Mark had on file) was never charged any amount back in April or that would have flagged us then to DOUBLE check the cancellation situation. Mark was VERY rude, impolite, and short with my husband. Mark explained he charged the card two months ago and that if he cannot sell the room, the charges would stay. We explained that we cancelled back in April, and nothing was charged. As we were speaking with him, we see the charges of $974.18 hit my account. The only information Mark would provide is that the needs to āsell the roomā before he can do anything. We tried to call the bank to stop/dispute the charge but being a debit card that was not possible. Once that amount hit, all our spending money in CO was gone. We tried calling Mark back that afternoon, but it was 6:00 pm on the dot so he did not answer. We called back first thing in the morning and expressed how unprofessional all of this was and that the charge needed to be voided. Mark kept saying he didnāt have to take this from us and stated that if I canceled my card, he would take us to court. I got on the phone with Mark and asked to speak to an owner or his boss and he said, I am the boss, who he is not, he is the general manager. There are 3 owners, and we were not able to speak with any of them. Markās last words to us on the phone were, I do not have to take this from you and hung up. We tried calling back asking for confirmation or signatures where we authorized this payment but were sent to voicemail. Shortly after leaving messages, my husband informed him that we have emails stating everything, including the cancellation notice. Five minutes after my husband leaving this voicemail, the 4 Seasons Inn sent another cancellation notice. The whole situation could have been avoided had Mark Matson acted more professional in the important role he has at that establishment. We are currently in the process of disputing this charge and had to cancel the card. I hope that this bad review does fall into the correct hands. When trying to find someone who owns the facility it was challenging, only the info email (which clearly Mark monitors) and two phone numbers which were the numbers we called numerous times and were hung up on or sent to voicemail. As a business owner, I would hope you would take some sort of action in bettering your establishment. For those of you who have not stayed there before, or have and possibly enjoyed it, keep an eye on your accounts. Mark may charge things that he is not...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe had a disastrous booking situation at another resort in Estes Park. We looked for another availability in the area. Through Trip Advisor and their reviews we found 4 Seasons Inn on Fall River. After speaking with the friendly and accommodating owner, Jonathan, we booked the rest of our planned stay at this resort. Charming place, very cabin like on Fall River. We booked a queen suite with a real fireplace, firewood provided, and a private hot tub right outside our door, private to us. It had a small kitchen space with 2 burners, a small fridge and a microwave, all we needed. A grill was available in our area. The bath was recently upgraded and was very nice. The dressing/bath area was separated from the living space. We had a small dining area, a comfy couch, and a comfy queen bed. We had trees and space out our dining window. Jonathan was so nice to work with, and we were so thankful we found this place. It is near the Fall River entrance to the park and near downtown, a lovely location. It is nestled away from the highway. They had a camp fire area and a hot tub for the whole place also. Guests were actually burning a lovely bonfire Friday evening. It snowed, and was beautiful. We went into the park, ate at Bird and Jim restaurant ( highly recommend), cooked steaks on the grill one night, and ate at Twin Owls Steakhouse (lovely). We had breakfasts in our suite looking out on snow draped trees. It was all perfect, saved our get-away after the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreJonathan at the front desk was absolutely wonderful and very helpful with recommendations for food, nightlife, and things to do while in Estes. The room itself was nice enough, sheets were VERY soft, and accomodations were friendly. Just like a cabin in the mountains you would expect. We were missing a remote to the tv for changing channels, which took overnight to correct, but no big issue as internet worked well, so we just did netflix instead on the first night. I will comment and say that the shower in the bathroom had black mold in the corners and on the shower head. I notified Jonathan who expressed that he is sharing cleaning crews between two hotels, but that hed remedy the issue asap when he was notified. They did clean the shower floors and put a dehumidifier in the room, but forgot the shower head, so I wiped it down myself instead. The hot tubs would have been great to use, but they were both pretty funky while we were there. Its a lot to keep up with at a hotel, and I feel they may be understaffed. Some minor things like weather stripping need to be replaced as well, as it rained the first night we were there, which resulted in wet carpet by our entry door. Again, Jonathan was wonderful, and I wouldnt NOT recommend this place, but would say that our stay definitely would have been more enjoyable with a clean shower and hot tub. It definitely was a good location and quick to most...
