Wow! Pine Haven was incredible! We just left today and can’t wait to come back! We stayed in the fisherman cabin (Cabin 1) and really enjoyed every minute of it.
First off, the ambiance is perfect. I loved the wood finishing everywhere and our cabin was so perfectly decorated! The cabin included everything we could need (plates, bowls, glasses, wine glasses, utensils, pots, pans, stove, oven, sinks, full size fridge and freezer, coffee maker, toaster, dish soap, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, bar soap, towels, toilet paper, paper towels, hair dryer, disinfecting spray, multiple grills, TV with full cable, very fast WIFI internet and more). Visiting during a pandemic was interesting but we found everything to be very clean and sanitary. We never once worried about catching coronavirus from our stay here.
The check in process was easy and contactless. The front office emailed our instructions the morning of check in and our key was waiting on the front door of the office for us. The cabin smelled good and the beds were pretty comfortable. The kids loved the bunkbed! The bedroom area in Cabin 1 is tight with the bunkbed at the foot of the queen bed but we knew that when we booked it and it was cozy. We never felt cramped.
We cooked about 5 meals in the kitchen during our stay and loved having that option with a pretty fully equipped kitchen. The only modern appliance missing is a dishwasher but we didn’t mind washing by hand.
The cabin had two quiet and good working heaters in it that we ran each night. I didn’t see any air conditioning but we didn’t need it with the cool summer days of Estes Park.
The rest of the cabin property is awesome! Fall River is a great attraction and so great to just sit next to and enjoy. My young kids loved the little playground area and there was also a basketball court, as well. We also enjoyed the little hiking trail behind cabin 4 up the hill behind Pine Haven. We didn’t partake in the hot tub but it looked nice. They also had fire pit areas but we also didn’t partake.
I loved how easy and fast it was to get from the cabin to RMNP (3 miles west) and downtown (2 miles east).
This is the perfect place to stay when visiting Estes Park and RMNP. We will...
Read moreI came here after an awful experience with the Stanley. This is absolutely a Rocky Mountain experience. The cabins are beautiful and themed. No, they are not 5 star complexes but much better in this environment. Warm and comforting instead of the sterile cookie cutter that would be way out of place in this environment. I feel like I’m living in a historic log cabin. It’s the perfect ending to a day of hiking, or an even better day snowed in with a cup of tea and a book.
They respect their guests and make sure it is kept peaceful and quiet.
More important are the owners. I booked on air bnb which told us we could check in earlier than they had available. They were so apologetic, offered to give me another cabin, and when I told them it was completely fine they gave me three precious little gifts and a bundle of free fire wood. This is family owned and they bring you in as if you are one of their own.
Anyone who doesn’t give this place 5 stars is probably someone I wouldn’t want to hang out with. This is the absolute essence of what the original Colorado and what RMNP is all about. If you were looking for bad customer service and a sterile ‘luxury’ suite go pay triple for a box of a room at...
Read moreThis place is amazing. Stopped by for a night 3 years ago and it was a wonderful experience. Loved it so much I came back for 2 more days this June. Called owner to make reservation few weeks in advance and they were great, they even remembered that I requested a fire pit in front of my cabin when I arrived. There is a lot of privacy, the cabins are super cozy and rustic but updated, it feels like a nice hotel in the woods. Great playground any kids will love and a basketball court has been added, beautiful river runs at the bottom of the property and no shortage of seats near it. Hot tub is also very relaxing with a cool breeze. You have great view of forest and mountains from any cabin. Chipmunks pop out and visit you, its really an enchanted place. Owners are super friendly and will go out of their way to make your stay as comfortable as it can be. The woman in the cabin next to me told me she has been coming to the area every year for 30 years and to Pine Haven for 17 years in a row, I can see why. Its also only 2 miles from Rocky Mountain National Park Entrance and Estes Lake. I hope I make it...
