the stonebrook resort has merged with property next door, that is where you check in. Over all this is a fantastic place to stay wile in town. only a short 3 mile drive down the road to the entrance station to rocky mt. park just down the road the opposite direction is the stanly hotel, restaurants, and the down town area. ||We, (my wife and i) had cabin #15 a two bedroom single bath unit with kitchen, living room, porch with hot tub. parking right in front of the unit. nice gas fireplace, comfortable beds, plenty of towls, and every thing you need for cooking. The space was very good enjoyed the sound and sights of the river behind the unit. With the occasional wild life sightings, mostly rabbits, squarls, and a bear, that got into the garbage bin. did not see or here this in the middle of the night, but did see the broken latch , the tipped over garbage container. (large apartment size one) and all the garbage scattered around the property... The management took care of this quickly and had everything cleaned up by the time we came back. ||The location was as good as it gets. just far enough from town to get a good night sleep. close enough to everything you want to see. restaurants are a short drive away. the town is big enough to have something for everyone. fast food places and good quality restaurants. ||I would not classify the following as a negative , but rather a minor downside. I would prefer a standard table rather than a counter top with stools. for a place to sit and eat. Im sure this is just part of the design theme. I also found it difficult to place simple things like toothpaste, or contact lenses in the sink in the bathroom. there was no shelves or counter space. at night the bathroom had this strange non see through window that would shine light in the bed room if someone was using it. and could wake you up. ||I would highly recommend staying here for anyone coming to visit. this place had everything you could want in a home away from home. just some last tips. #1 dont leave any food in your car unattended or overnight. (remember the bear) #2 plan ahead and get park passes...
Read moreWhat a fantastic little hideaway! Unfortunately we only had time to spend one night here but it was really an amazing evening. We stayed in Cabin #7 and it was soooo cozy and clean. The weather was absolutely perfect the night we stayed and it got down into the 40s. While sitting in our own private hot tub that was a few feet away from a cool, clear running stream, my wife saw a shooting star in the clear night sky. The staff is so friendly (which I can’t remember the young man’s name in the office (sorry!) but I do remember Theresa) and helpful and all the directions for the gas fireplace and television are in a handy little book on the coffee table in front of the couch along with things to do nearby, restaurants, and locals recommendations. We had a Keurig coffee maker in a room along with a little refrigerator, and a microwave oven. We also had a hot tub inside our cabin (which we did not use). The bathroom was very clean with a stand up shower and little bottles of locally sourced soaps and soap bars. The cabins are about a mile (I think) from the main part of town where all the shops and restaurants are. Along the little stream that runs behind the cabins are beautiful LL Bean Adirondack chairs for the guests. And our cabin also had a gas grill which was EXTREMELY clean (though we didn’t use it). There are hiking trails that go along the stream and we even found a little cave nearby (and I mean it was only about 3 feet deep but still something very cool which we do not see living in Florida). If we ever come back to this area, which I hope we do because it is absolutely gorgeous, I would DEFINITELY stay at Stonebrook again. I would love to be able to stay 3-5 days next time too because it’s just such a beautiful little spot. My photos don’t do this place justice. But take my advice and if you want a beautiful, cozy, clean, romantic place to stay while in Estes Park, you will not be disappointed if you stay at Stonebrook. Thank you to the staff, Theresa, and everyone at Stonebrook for making our one night stay a...
Read moreMy husband and I booked cabin #7, and my in-laws booked cabin #5, so we got to share the long deck along both cabins for listening to the river, watching people fish, or having an afternoon drink.
Both cabins were perfect for what we needed! They came with a kitchen complete with microwave, toaster, dishwasher, mini-fridge and Keurig (and even some K-cups to get us started - regular, decaf, hot chocolate, and hot apple cider). There were other pots, pans, and utensils, as well as a gas grill. The bed was a queen - we're used to a king - but it still felt large and comfortable, especially since it was a Sleep Number. We didn't use the jacuzzi tub, but it was a nice perk. There was also a table with leaves, rack for hanging clothes, loveseat, TV, and lights, plugs, and hooks galore! They even stocked the bathroom with a hair dryer, shampoo, conditioner, bar soap and lotion.
The location is pretty awesome, too - you're right on the main road and only a mile or two to downtown and all the shops/restaurants, but with our view from cabins #5 and #7, we never heard the road and got a great view of the hills and river behind the property.
Although the property is adults only, and they post it EVERYWHERE, there were still two different parties that showed up with kids while we were there... and StoneBrook took care of it.
We also loved the turkeys and rabbits that walked around the cabins, and we fed the trout in the river.
There's no A/C - we didn't need it in September since the temps dropped enough at night after 75-80 degree days - but there was a box fan to move the air around or for white noise at night. The "heat" works off a thermostat, and when it gets cold enough, the fireplace kicks on.
Check-in/check-out process was very easy during COVID; our key and instructions were taped to the office door when we got there, and we just had to drop them in the key box when we left. Housekeeping wasn't available, but it was super easy to email and ask for more...
