3 1/2 stars - We stayed in the Mountain Home Cabin. ||||The positives: There was more than enough space for everyone. There are 4 beds and 2 bathrooms in the cabin. The kitchen is large enough for multiple people to move around if necessary. There were even two coffee makers (though no coffee). The bedding appeared clean. There is wood for the fireplace if you want to have a fire. The furniture in the living room was dated but seemed clean. The front porch has really nice comfortable furniture, we loved sitting outside listening to the water across the street and watching an elk. Location was great, it is a short drive from RMNP. ||||The negatives: The wifi was so poor it was non-existent. If you are on vacation and want to unplug it is great. Unfortunately one member of our party was on a working vacation and needed internet access. There weren't enough towels, and the ones provided smelled musty. The office was closed on Saturday (I didn't feel towels constituted an emergency enough to call the provided contact number). There was mildew on the shower curtain liner. Someone had put dirty pans back into the cabinets. I usually wash up any dishes anyway just to make sure they are clean. But really didn't appreciate having to scrub someone else's food off of the one decent pan provided before I could use it. There wasn't any bin for recycling. ||||It would have been nice to have a guide in the cabin with instructions on property amenities/local attractions. If there was one we didn't find one. I wanted to address my concerns with the front desk at check out, he was in a conversation with another couple and didn't acknowledge me. After awkwardly standing there for a few moments I finally put the key on the desk and left. With a little attention to details this place would have...
Read moreThe room looked great in the photos and was nicely updated. We stayed in their micro hotel. Unfortunately, I didn't notice online that there wasn't a vanity sink with the renovated bathroom. I just assumed it wasn't visible in the small space. Our neighbors in the room next to us didn't notice it either. We had to use the very small mini sink and counter of the kitchenette, which meant we had to keep shifting toiletry items and kitchen items back and forth to use it. We all feel they should have very clearly pointed out the lack of a vanity sink online before booking it. They also didn't have a piece of furniture with drawers or a closet to unpack your things into. Instead, they had a row of hooks on the wall. The television doesn't come with any kind of service at all, you have to set it to a streaming service you already have. The instructions said your information would be deleted automatically when you checked out. Our neighbors said their TV was working because it still had the old details from the person who was in the room before them. We decided not to add our information to get it to work. The window A/C didn't work either, it was a very hot week, with no way to open windows to get cross ventilation to cool the room down at night. Cell phone service was very spotty unless you walked outside. Also, there wasn't a manager on site which I've never run into before. We left one day early as we hadn't slept well in 3 nights. I wouldn't go...
Read moreAmberwood was a horrible experience. We booked a cabin for my fiance and me and my parents for our wedding, and when we arrived, the place smelled musty and like smoke and we had no running water. We contacted the on site team and they kept saying they had to turn the water off to change the filters and were working on getting it turned back on. That was a flat out lie - they had no running water in the entire facility before we even arrived that day. We had to cancel a pre-wedding dinner reservation for my parents to meet his parents since we couldn't shower and had to grab sandwiches instead. After hours of back and forth with the on site people and even speaking to the manager who wasn't onsite, they finally admitted they couldn't do anything and suggested we reach out to AirBnb to book somewhere else! So we had to scramble to try to find an available AirBnb big enough for four adults AND my two dogs on a weekend in September. This was a HUGE stress two days before my wedding. Thank goodness AirBnb was super helpful because the team at Amberwood was NOT. I advise you to...
