We stayed here because we couldn't find anyplace else that had vacancies but we won't stay here again. The light switches don't work for obvious lights, etc. One switch (not attached to a light) apparently worked with a switch and unbeknownst to me wasn't on to charge my computer. We couldn't turn the lights off for the front or back doors so they shone into the room brightly if we wanted to keep the windows open which was necessary to keep the room cool.||||The fan in the bedroom is dangerous. Don't try to put it on high as it is likely to fly off the ceiling or at best keep you awake all night with the loud rattling. There was no cover on the lights either. ||||The desk lamp next to the bed cannot be turned off and on as the button was broken off (how cheap can you get). It would have to be unplugged to be turned off and the wall plate was quite loose and seemed to be a fire hazard.||||The remote for the tv in the living room worked inconsistently and did not have a cover so it was a bit tough keeping the batteries in it.||||Why should I have to wash dishes etc. paying more than $300 per night?||||The dresser handles clearly hadn't been cleaned in years as they were sticky. The carpet was sticky in places too and there was popcorn under the futon in the front room.||||Beware of the hot water -- it comes on really fast and scalding hot.||||The pool was warm but very buggy.||||Though it is right off the highway it was pretty quiet and it is close to both downtown and RMNP. The beds weren't great but I've had worse. The place is also pet friendly. The staff was friendly. You have to check in at another location altogether which is about one mile up the road and it is not open very late.||||I've stayed in worse places than this, but the price is the biggest problem. This is no where near close to being worth even half the...
Read moreUpon arrival the room seemed clean and close to park entrance.||Now for the bad: There is no A/C in this cabin and no air flow. Only 2 windows open and they provide you with 2 cheap fans, that are about as equal to blowing air through a straw. Our cabin stayed at 80 degrees until about midnight it would drop down to 75. There is no dresser to unpack your clothes, no stand to put your suitcase on, 4 hangers in the closet made for some wrinkled clothes. The bed was so old and worn out when you laid on it, it would fold you up like a taco, or if you rolled over it felt like you were about to fall out. Nothing like you and your spouse rolled up in a sweat fill taco trying to sleep. Each night we got about 3 hours of broken sleep, between the heat and the old bed. It was more comfortable to drive into the park, find a shaded parking lot and sleep in the car during the day. After 3 nights of no sleep we packed up and went home. They would not refund us for the last 2 nights we did not stay there. Needless to say we will not stay here again, not a fan of sleeping in my own sweat along with who's ever attempted to sleep here last! The first morning found 2 roaches in the kitchen area, not sure where they ran off to, but did not see them again. The bathroom is small and again no where to put your stuff, the shower is dark hard to see what you're washing. For the experience I would rather bring my tent and camp for the same effect and a lot less money! Avoid cabin 10B if you like sleep, but if you like it hot it's the...
Read moreI’ll get the bad out of the way. We had no idea there was no AC in the units. They did provide a fan but, the rooms were warm. With signs up of bears in the area, we had to keep the windows shut since we had snacks for the kids. Rooms were too dark and lights in the bedroom did not work. We had to check in at another location one mile down the road. Luckily another person staying at the resort told us where to go or we would have been in trouble since we didn’t have cell service.
With all that being said, the place was located in a great spot. Just a short mile and a half outside of town on the way into the Park. Right across the street from the river and located right in the mountains. Perfect cabin feel!! Rooms were clean and came with pots, pans, cups, microwave, wash cloths, utensils and soap (you do have to wash your own dishes). You also have a grill on your own patio. Your room comes with a full size fridge and oven. There is a grocery store in town so you can save on food and grill out after your day hikes. We had free WiFi and Netflix for the evening. We also had elk come pay a visit in the parking lot.
The beds were cozy and the water out if the tap was ice cold. Staff checking us in and out was very friendly and helpful. Our end cabin 6 was perfect! Our bedroom wasn’t up again another room so the kids didn’t have to worry about being too loud and our car had parking right next to the room for easy loading and unloading. We’ll be...
