A Nightmare experience. Imagine arriving in beautiful Estes Park with your family. Everyone was having such a beautiful time enjoying the refreshing river just outside our awaited condo quaintly nestled next to the riverbed. Except when our family of 5 entered the room, we were surprised to find only one bed. We were like, “oh, they must have given us the wrong room.” And when my wife went to ask, everyone had left the premises (3 in the afternoon, an odd time for there to be not a soul around.). We tried an emergency number in our packet with no answer. Cell service is spotty, so we kept trying. I left a message calmly explaining what happened and received a call back later from Deana, the manager. Apparently there was a discrepency with our room, the number of beds, and how many people would be there. I wasn’t blaming anyone for the issue and we actually stated that it may well have been our fault but we wanted to see if there was another room where we could stay and would be happy to pay more. At this point, Deana told me I was rude. She was going to call the police and have us physically removed from the property and she would tell the police that we were being rude…that we didn’t pay that much for this room in the first place, so we should stop bothering her or else. She called me “rude” about 4 or 5 times which places one in the precarious position of convincing someone you’re not being rude. We were shocked that this call went so quickly from 0-100. I tried to calmly ask how I was being rude - taking deep breaths, slowing my speech. She said, “you’re rude - shut the hell up and just sleep in the f’ng room or I’m calling the police on you.” I’m curious exactly how that phone call to police would have gone. “There’s a family of 5 asking for another bed, arrest them immediately, the children too.” I kindly hung up on Deana as she was inexplicably cussing me out and left right away as I don’t allow people to treat our family that way. I would have literally slept on the street rather than stay in that condo for a single minute having to depend on Deana for anything. American Express told me that they have fully refunded our money from the Condos and are considering removing them from their...
Read moreMy family and I have stayed at Estes Park Condos numerous times (5 or 6) over the past dozen years or so. We enjoy the proximity to Rocky Mountain National Park, Estes Park, and the forest with the lovely Fall River. This year, we were surprised to find that the steps leading to our Condo deck, Creekside Condo D, had no handrail (because of back issues, my wife and I are both unsteady walking). I called the office numerous times, but was finally told the Condo Owner was out of the country, and they couldn't make changes to the property without permission. They did finally send a very polite and sincere maintenance man to see what he could do. I suggested just a long pole hammered into the ground that we could grab on to when climbing the stairs. The pole didn't work because of concrete footings to the porch. He instead positioned an unsteady table next to the porch (it was really something). I don't think it was unreasonable for us to want a handrail-- especially when the American Disabilities Act (the ADA) mandates it. I also don't think that the Condo owner being out of country excuses Estes Park Condos, the rental management company, from ensuring the safety of their customers. At $400+ per night, something as simple as a handrail shouldn't have been a problem-- other Condos have handrails. Estes Park Condos is under new management, and they have invested and improved some things-- like making internet available to everyone. Our family all wondered who ordered the bright red electric grills outside the Creekside Condos. They really don't fit into the Forest Lodge Setting. Sadly, we decided we weren't sure we wanted to stay at this group of Condos, again. After so many years of giving them our business, we weren't impressed by the front office personnel's attitude regarding our reasonable and...
Read moreWorst customer service I’ve ever dealt with. Created a room block for my wedding and had a terrible experience with Missy and the other members of their staff. They booked me in multiple rooms and likely gave me the wrong room. They also proceeded to run my credit card for two rooms (AFTER) I told them I was not staying in the addition room. This is a crime called larceny, because they knowing stole from me even though they returned the charge on my card. Once I got to the condo at the beginning of my stay, which was the room listed on my welcome packet, my bedroom window was broken and half of the windows didn’t open. I tried calling office immediately to report the issue, but the staff doesn’t work past 3pm on Wednesday for whatever reticulum reason. I left a voicemail about the window, they sent a person to inspect it the following day, and proceeded to tell me the window was not broken prior to my arrival…. Perfect way to set me up for a nice damage charge even though I did everything I could to report the issue upon my arrival and subsequent inspection. Following the report of my window, All they have done is call me repeated asking for my card number to pay, instead of apologizing for giving me a garbage condo. They also threatened to charge me a smoke fine, even though they allow smoking outside their condos…. I wouldn’t stay here again and They have treated me like trash even though I brought them thousands of dollars in business for my wedding weekend. Missy also made sure I knew we only booked our 13 of their 70 condos in an effort to minimize the business I’ve brought them. By far the worst customer service establishment I’ve...
