My stay at Wildwood Inn was unfortunately not as pleasant as I had hoped. After booking the trip over the summer for myself, my mother, and my child, it turned out my mother had to unexpectedly have knee surgery in early October, 2 weeks before the stay at Wildwood for the weekend. I asked Wildwood if I could reschedule the stay (not cancel, just reschedule) and I explained that my mother had just had knee surgery and a trip to Estes would be really rough under her condition. Wildwood said no. I don't think it's very good business to lock people in to a stay, no matter the circumstances. Some understanding and flexibility could go a long way when retaining clientele, especially when guests just want to reschedule and not cancel a stay, and especially when it's for medical reasons. That forced us to go stay at Wildwood just 2 weeks after my mother's knee surgery (and we discovered the hard way that Estes Park is not a very accessible town for people in wheelchairs, but that of course isn't Wildwood Inn's fault). She wouldn't have been able to handle 2 nights, so we only stayed one night. Which meant I paid for a night I didn't even benefit from. But, I let that go and accepted it as it was. After explaining my mother's surgery and that we would need ice for medical purposes, I was told we would have to bring our own, with a cooler to keep it from melting, because the cabin didn't have a freezer available (and unbeknownst to me at the time we were staying in a cabin offsite from the main property). That doesn't sit right with me because it's my understanding that lodging facilities are legally required to meet certain medical needs of their guests, and something as simple as ice should have been something that Wildwood could have provided, particularly since they forced our hand to stay there so soon after surgery because they refused to reschedule the stay. The cabin we stayed in (Pine View) was a quaint little cabin and was quite nice, as was the hot tub nice and clean. I could tell the property is well cared for. However, the night was chilly and there weren't enough blankets to keep us warm, so we had to use all the towels we could find to help keep us warm through the night. I didn't appreciate that very much and was actually thankful we only stayed one night instead of two because of the cold without enough blankets. When I texted the staff to ask where the playground, horseshoes, spa, etc. was (as my daughter and I were walking around looking for the playground for her to play at), I got a simple, non-helpful response stating "These are at our main property as you are at one of our offsite locations." They didn't even help me understand where the main property was or how to get there from the cabin we were at. When I booked the cabin, there was nothing to explain that the cabin was off-site. So the whole time we were looking forward to the trip, we were under the impression we could go to the playground, play horseshoes, go into the sunroom, go to the spa, etc. I was highly disappointed I was unable to do any of those things, and I wasn't even given the courtesy of being told where those things were and how to get to them. There was very little about this experience with Wildwood Inn was very pleasant, and I will be sure never to stay there again. We are Colorado Natives and make an annual trip to Estes Park, so Wildwood could have gained a regular client, but unfortunately did not. What positives I can state are the cabin was nice and clean, the hot tub was nice and clean, and it was enjoyable to have a fireplace in the cabin, and a firepit out by...

The place is great! My girlfriend and I stayed there for a few days during a low season and we loved everything about it. You can't think of a better location, you're a step away from the Park and a two minute walk to a river. A very short drive to the grocery store. Hotel itself is great too, our apartment was very spacious and had everything needed for a long stay. Hot tub inside definitely adds to the whole romantic getaway idea, even though it wasn't a big deal, you get over it fairly quickly. Fireplace on the other hand is awesome! And the vibe inside is just so nice. We really wanted to re-live our experience once again and that's where our experience turned from incredible to incredibly sour.

This is going to be my first negative review of the hotel ever and I hate doing that. I've traveled all over the world and have had different scenarios but this one... this one was so unfortunate and saddening that I had to post it.

We booked the same apartment for a few days and were planning on visiting the Park with a friend of ours. The trip got planned, booked and we were all super stoked, to no end!

And then our friend got COVID and it got nasty. I contacted the property three weeks before the visit and asked whether we could move the dates of our journey since we did not want to travel with someone with COVID or potentially exposed to COVID (us). The person on the phone was understanding at first but then claimed that all the reservations were non refundable (which was fine with us) and no, they cannot move the dates. I tried explaining the situation hoping for some sort of cooperation given odd and unforeseen circumstances. Unfortunately, there was zero desire to help and instead we were told that there was absolutely nothing they could do.

Don't get me wrong, I totally understand the non-refundable policy, but unwillingness to change the dates? 3 weeks prior to check-in? That was very strange. In the end, the person on the other side declared that if they caved in and started changing the dates for the travelers, they wouldn't have business.

I don't really understand this statement as they ended up taking our money and we were not able to visit them. My card was charged $700 and I was obviously devastated. Contacted my bank and disputed the transaction. My claim has not been granted and I'm over it, somewhat, but then I read the correspondence in between the bank and the hotel and the hotel representative pictured me as a rude customer and claimed I hung up on her/him?

This is certainly NOT a way to treat your customers. I really hope my $700 will help you business in some way but I will not be staying with them. They took my money, refused to cooperate in any way possible and ended up picturing me as as a-hole.

That's not cool. So yeah, the place is great, but the way they treat their customers is infuriating and we are taking our money to another business...

We were trying to reserve a nice cabin for the weekend in Estes Park. Unfortunately, all the available cabins looked like they hadn't been updated for 5 decades. We then found the Wildwood Inn.

This location has several condos per building. Our condo had a gas fireplace and hot tub in the living room. It also had a king size bed, a Murphy bed in the living room as well as a pull-out sofa. The condo itself was pretty clean. The management asks that the hot tub be wiped out after each use. However, prior to use, the hot tub was not as clean as I would have expected.

The condo had a full kitchen with microwave, refrigerator, oven, stove-top, dishwasher and coffee maker. Also provided are dishes, pots and pans. We had a balcony with an outdoor table and chairs. There was a television in the living room and bedroom, although if you are interested in television watching, the TV's are very small.

The condo building had a shared bbq grill. There was also a playground and separate building with a hot tub.

The staff members were friendly. We were able to easily arrange for a later check-out. There was a very large DVD collection, available for free rental. The location does offer board games for free use, however they were not available during covid.

There is no housekeeping service included with the cost of the condo. Services can be provided upon request at a steep cost of 35% of the daily room rate. Additionally, there are many, many reminders that if the condo is not cleaned as requested, such as washing all dishes, the tenant will be charged the 35% fee.

Lastly, the location is beautiful. It is closer to RMNP than the actual town. The grounds are immaculately kept. I'd challenge anyone to find a piece of trash anywhere on the property. This location is also quiet. It is an excellent location for honeymooners and families. If you are coming to Estes to party, this may not be the place for you.

This location completely fit our needs as a small, quiet family. The rental cost was very reasonable. We will...

We stayed at Wildwood Inn in late May, 2019. Reserved a Sundance Suite, which had the private hot tub inside the room. Good thing too because the weather was cold and snowing, a little unusual for the season! Despite the snow, the room was cozy, warm, and welcoming. We made use of the full kitchen most days for breakfast. We also walked one morning to the Trailhead Restaurant at the Fall River Visitor Center, which is like a half-mile up the road. Pros: Room was clean and warm. Water is tap-drinkable and very hot when needed. Walls between units are pretty soundproof. Kitchen is well-equipped. Park entrance and Estes is not far away. Views of both Deer Mountain in front and McGregor Mountain in back are excellent. Magpies and hummingbirds are everywhere. Cons: South entrances to the park are kind of far away, though we enjoyed the drive through the park to get there honestly. The cable TV package in the room does not include premium channels like HBO for free (but they have a library of DVDs in the office to borrow). Warnings: Only one car-sized parking spot per unit (was not a problem for us). Also the owners have some philosophical issue with marijuana and have strict prohibitions in place where they will charge you five times your rental fee if they find you have any on the property. (Also was not an issue for us, but I feel people should know what they are getting into)

I was part of 2 couples staying at Wildwood Inn when they had a major water issue in July 29th and 30th. The property water well had a problem and resort lost water on the early evening of July 29th. Since no night manager was on duty, there was just an emergency phone to call in the problem so there was a lot of confusion that night. However very early the next morning the Day Manager ( I’m so sorry I didn’t get her name) had done all she could to take care of situation. First she made everyone aware of situation through text messages and/or emails. She then secured a room to use for showers at the property right next to Wildwood and ordered in a water truck to fill the well until the pump was fixed. What could have lasted days only lasted less than 24 hours. The Day Manager did compensate us for the inconvenience but more importantly it was how she handled the problem and that was by personally getting involved and directly and honestly keeping the tenants informed! She lastly followed up with us regarding the situation after we checked out. No one on site in the evening was a problem to begin with but we knew that going in to resort. BTW regarding the Wildwood. It is wonderful. The location is wonderful especially to RMNP and the rooms are well maintained. Yes we will stay here again.
