My stay at The Lodge at Tellico Plains was fantastic. I generally do not write reviews if my opinion is neutral or below, but in this case it was worth it. Grounds: I was given a short tour of the property upon arrival. The property has a game room with a pool table, shuffle board, air hockey, a ping pong table, and more. Everything was in good working order. The grounds have covered motorcycle parking which is excellent for riders. There is a laundry room and a covered outdoor area with a firepit and grills (which I did not use for this stay but appeared all be functional). Room: The room was very clean. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The wifi worked as expected. The shower had good pressure. Amenities such as soap and shampoo were provided. Everything was in good working order. The Lodge was Quiet at night with no issues, even given its' proximity to the Unicoi Turnpike. Do note though: If you stay in the cabin above the moto garage, you will likely be woken up in the morning due to riders leaving the moto garage. (Just the facts of life so don't be surprised. I knew it was coming). Location: The big selling point for the Lodge at Tellico is its' location relevant to the Cherohala Skyway, a very popular destination for motorcycle riders. The Lodge is also very close to several restaurants and with a short drive. Tellico Cafe has very good food with a local vibe. Guest Services: Guest Services were great and provided recommendation for dining as well as locations to visit during the stay. Price: The daily rate was very reasonably priced. Recommendations: If I could make any recommendations it would be that there did not appear to be any operable vending machines for snacks and drinks. Maybe I missed them. This in no way would impact my stay there. I always bring my own so it's a non-issue for me. I also could see tool rentals being available or a wash station...but that might be too much of a pain to manage due to ease of abuse. Misc: There did not appear to be any full service grocery store nearby so plan accordingly. I am already planning a adv/dual sport trips for the fall and next spring and will be staying there. Obligatory bike pics to get you motivated.

Let me say this lodge is a destination itself. The rooms definitely give you a mountain cabin feel and while we went to the area to ride the motorcycle around the smoky mountains, we easily could have just stayed day after day at the lodge grounds to relax and unwind. This past week we returned for our second stay at the Lodge which was our first stay with the new owners, Bryan and Catherine. The new owners are such cool people! Bryan really knows the area and is an avid motorcycle rider so he understands the needs and wants of people wanting to enjoy the mountain roadways. If you need anything at all, Bryan and Catherine are so accommodating. The property has a great cooking area with a smoker and a grill. Tables and chairs make for a relaxing end of day gathering area for the guests. If you are not into meeting other guests, there are tables and rocking chairs outside the room doors on the porch. We love to meet new people so it was nice to gather around the fire pit while cooking on the grill. The pavilion has fans to help keep the summer time heat bearable. There is a game room with shuffleboard, pool table, ping pong table, card tables and tv lounging area. The motorcycle garage is outstanding! There are a bunch of cleaning materials available for those who like to keep our machines shiny. It adds another area for those with the same activities to meet and chat about our hobbies. I also want to put a plug in for Andrew. He is the maintenance employee. He is just a happy guy and gets right on any issue you bring to him. Andrew is also an avid motorcycle rider and is very familiar with the area destinations and routes with spectacular views. If you see him, do yourself a favor and take a moment to chat with him. We will absolutely be back for another visit! We want to share this place with all our friends!

This place is beautiful. When we arrived, it was late. Our room key and receipts were in the night box. The room was very clean and very comfortable. It has extremely high ceilings and The rustic field was a really nice change from a regular motel room. He had a Jacuzzi tub, which I was not able to figure out how to operate the first night. The directions that were left were incomplete. We had to turn on the safety button (my husband found it the next day) on the wall and then the tub work beautifully. I enjoyed it very much! There was a gas log fireplace. The grounds were so beautiful and looked to be well taken care of. There is no place for children to play, so centered for adults. There were a few things that would have made it a little more comfortable. To have a small little table in the toilet area would have been nice; we like to look at our phones when we spend extra time on the porcelain throne. So it would have been pleasant to set our phone on something other than the floor. Also there was only one wicker chair in the room to sit, to watch television and no table of any kind to place our drinks or maybe food upon while we ate and watched television. The porch setting was really nice. There were two rockers and a really cute table. Also a song bird right next to the porch where we sat. She was pleasant to watch and listen to her sing. We didn't have the pleasure of meeting any staff. Though there was a beautiful Persian/Siamese kitten that greeted is the next day... The pictures were taken the day off our departure.

While heading to Cincinatti for a convention this year, I decided to detour to show my wife some of the sights I had seen during motorcycle trips through Tennesee. Fortunately, my route included stopping in Tellico Plains and staying at the Lodge at Tellico. Folks, this is one beautiful place to stay. We were running a little late and got a text to make sure we were coming from the owners - they just needed an eta. I provided one and when we got there, were warmly greeted by Ken, who told us all about the lodge and then took us on a tour of the place, showing us the barbeque-gathering area, the water features, the location of the laundry and ice machines, the game room and the covered bike garage. We parked right next to the room! (Note that this place does require you to manage 3-4 stair step and carry your bags up the stairs.). We entered the room and were blown away. Beautiful is not adequate. The bed was great and the floor and ceiling were hardwood. It has a fireplace, a refrigerator, a ceiling fan and a microwave. They had nice towels and a pile of other towels you can use to wipe down your motorcycle. Even special towels for makeup removal. It had a beautiful shower to clean up. Plenty of outlets, a table with chairs and most importantly, a jacuzzi tub to relax your body after a hard day of riding or driving. My wife was so thrilled with the room and the lodge itself. We unpacked and went down to the gathering place where you could sit off of the end of the pavillion and watch fireflies dancing through the trees as the sun set. Just an incredible view. While we had planned to leave early, we stayed until the 11:00am checkout time just to enjoy the views and the charm of the lodge. On our 10 day trip, this was the best stay we had and we're planning now for a trip back next year, although my wife may not let me drive on the Tail of the Dragon again as I was having too much fun (well as much fun as you can have in a car - all previous trips have been on a bike). We highly recommend this fine lodge if you are in the area - it's only 1/2 mile away from the start of the...
