Please like our reviews. Wheelchair accessible. Hilton Honors & Diamond Club member parking available. We arrived and were checked in promptly. Negatives first: The A/C unit was not snapped together properly. The air filter was rather clean but because the unit did not shut, all of the filth did not pass through the actual filter but into other parts of the unit and most likely into the room. There was no smell in the room or anything but if someone has asthma or allergies, room 303 is def not for them. (We are not sure if all units in each room were misproportioned like this so you may wamt to double check.) The temperature dropped at night so we simply opted out of A/C use. The A/C did work very well though. Also, our closet door track was all messed up. It was a sliding mirror door. We did not make use of the closet but wanted take photos of the space. It was really hard to open the closet up. A/C & sliding closet door could definitely use some attention.
The hotel was amazingly clean which is most important to us. O filth, 0 bugs, and no smells even though most of the room was carpeted. The employees were all super efficient and helpful. There is 24/7 complimentary coffee and tea near the front entrance. Our room was insanely large. It was more like a suite with kitchenette. It had a mini fridge, microwave, sink plus the bathroom sink and amenities. There was an iron and ironing board as well as hair dryer. The toiletries brand was nuetrogena. It was nice to have great quality products which included mouthwash. The water temp and pressure for the shower was spot on. They used waterpik shower heads which are adjustable. There was a smaller tv stand and portable charging station for phones and lap tops. *(Nice to have but ours was very dirty). The complimentary breakfast was nice. My kids loved the waffles with all kinds of fun toppings. They had cereal, fresh fruit, eggs, sausage, waffles, oatmeal, bagels, muffins, juice, milk, coffee at the entrance and more. They have a dining area which is also open to guests. They have booth style seating, chairs and stool tables. There are 2 luggage carts at the front door. Dining area has high chairs and booster seats available. The area around the hotel is cleared and quiet. There is 0 noise from traffic heard here. We also did not hear noise from any other guests in their rooms. There are blackout curtains in the rooms which was nice. This hotel has vending machines on each floor near the elevators and a small gym facility. They have a small pool which is covered and closed due to COVID restrictions. Near the hotel is a tire center, a McDonald's and a local bank. The McDonalds and bank are within walking distance. The morning front desk staff was A+. My husband went off to work and I was locked out of my room with 2 toddlers. Concierge was very helpful in getting us back into our room. Shewww!~ Overall it was a great stay. I would recommend this place and give it 5 stars if the A/C in our room had been put together properly. (The mustache coffee cups were a lot of fun at breakfast.) Thank you Hampton Inn Staff for the...
Read moreI was disappointed in the quality of this hotel considering the price. I had thought Hampton Inns were decent hotels and this stay has put me off them. The rooms had several issues, the most glaring of which was the water quality. All of the sinks, showers, and toilets in the rooms had rust stains (see photos). When you ran the water it smelled of rust and sulfur. This did not improve after running the water for several minutes. Something is very wrong with the pipes and plumbing here. I did not drink the water and instead used the bottles provided by the front desk. I made the mistake of brushing my teeth with the tap water and it tasted foul. This wasn't normal "coastal water" flavor. After showering I felt grosser than before I got in. My skin and hair smelled metallic. The smell faded somewhat as the water dried. The water felt metallic. I chose not to wash my face in the morning, because I did not want my face in the water again. Issue number two with the rooms was the state of the bathroom. The wall around the ceiling was covered in dark spots which I can only assume were mold (see photos). There was no fan in the bathroom and water condensed on the ceiling and walls, which is probably what allowed it to grow. The toilet had a sluggish flush. The closet of the King suite was missing a door and the door track was rusty and gross (see photo). The wooden bathroom fixture was worn and badly needed a new coat of paint (see photos). If things this visible aren't being maintained, what about things invisible to guests?
When I opened the mini fridge, there were items from the previous guest left inside. The microwave was also not clean. The desk chair had mystery stains. The TV looked greasy.
At breakfast food was not replenished as it ran out. I was afraid to drink the coffee, assuming it had been made with the hotel's water. The eggs were overdone and hard. When I stuck my head back in the kitchen area to let staff know that food was running low, no one was there, but I did see slices of ham floating in a bucket.
No USB charging ports. Few outlets near bed, all but one near bed used by hotel lamps/clocks.
Pros: All appliances and lights worked. The front desk staff was friendly and offered food suggestions when we arrived late in the evening. Wifi was free with Hilton honors sign in. The lobby was bright and inviting. Exterior doors were conveniently located for loading/unloading. There is a grocery store nearby. The bedding was clean. The bed was comfortable, though firm. Towels/linens were clean. Room was spacious, which was good with a child.
Location: The hotel is near several restaurants, but most are fast food. Most of the nearby places have poor yelp / google reviews. Nothing sit down was open after 8 pm. After being on the road all day, I ended up microwaving dinner from food lion. The hotel is walkable to McDonald's, Hardee's, and a Walgreens. The hotel is easily accessible from the highway. It is one of the last chain/larger hotels to stop at if you want to wait till daylight to cross the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. Located close to a...
Read moreThe staff was awesome (all shifts), but the reason I gave it 3 🌟 s, the microwave in my room was horrible, there was kicked on debris on the inside of the door, the inside had a huge rust spots, which I felt wasn't safe to use in that condition... It should have been taken out of the room until a new one was available. The refrigerator which I had taken a picture of has splattered I don't know what on the outside wall of it, I don't know if the carpet in the room was being clean and water splashed on it but it was dirty and if you're cleaning a room you would clean the refrigerator on the outside as well the inside on a regular base especially when a guest has been in the room. The shower in my bathroom, I couldn't adjust the shower head, water was going on the floor (SHOULD BE REPLACED). The chairs/seating in the area where you eat (🟡AGAIN THEY WERE RENOVATING, AND WHEN WE WERE THERE THE DELIVERY TRUCK W/ THE FURNITURE, MY COUSIN WAS TOLD, HAD BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT OR SOMETHING AND THERE WAS A DELAY IN THE DELIVERY) many were STAINED, and worn.
🟡THE LINEN/TOWELS WERE CLEAN, HOWEVER ONE OF THE PILLOWS ON MY BED DID NOT HAVE A PILLOW PROTECTOR, AND THE PILLOW WAS STAINED‼️
I've conducted safety and health inspection for 5 years.... Going back to the MICROWAVE it should NEVER been in the room in that condition, I took pictures of the microwave the refrigerator the bathroom the entire room. The room was nice/neat, the food had a good multi choice, as well drinks (and you could go down at anytime, day or night and have yourself some tea or coffee that's set up for self service (complimentary). Elevator appeared to be clean, the room smelled nice, and I FELT COMFORTABLE SLEEPING W/ THE TYPE OF LOCK ON THE DOOR..not having to barricade the door w/ bench in sleeping.
This is based on February 26th-28, 2022 stay. I HOPE ALL MY NEGATIVES HAVE...
