I have used this hotel several times and have always enjoyed the stay and service. Recently they have changed management. I had a really traumatizing and long day. I arrived at the hotel for check in which I booked on Agoda. When booking on Agoda if a hotel has a deposit it will say deposit not included in total pay at property. That was not outlined in our reservation. My boyfriend and I do traveling security and stay in Wayne a lot. My boyfriend asked Sam the gentleman checking us in if he can waive the fee or give us a couple hours to give. I was bitten at another hotel and the money was to be refunded but wasn’t ready which we explained. He said no I’m not doing it. My boyfriend stated to him that if he wanted to he could wave it .. he told my boyfriend “Yea I can do it but I don’t want too he then got very sarcastic and nasty. Words was exchanged but then we proceeded to obtain the deposit . We sat on the couch and he went in the back talking in his native language about us. The co-worker knowing what was going on came out asking if we needed help. SMH being petty. I received the deposit and proceeded to complete my reservation. I stood there thinking he was finishing up. As I stood there cards in hand and I’d put on counter a young lady stood behind on line he then said have a seat it’s gonna be awhile I assumed he was talking to her . He then asked if she needed help . Really I said you know I’m waiting here for check in . I expressed that he was nasty and rude . He then said I can’t get the room. Why ? I stated I was calling the police and Agoda as well as Wyndham. He refused a refund and tried to defraud us and cancel the reservation looking like we did it so we can’t obtain our refund . He also called the police because I threatened first and we wasn’t leaving until we hit got it. He called police and said we was disrupting property & he told Wyndham that we was cursing at the staff. We was on camera show the whole story .if it wasn’t for the police he wouldn’t of refunded us . Oh and when this started escalating we asked for a manger he said there was no manager. Then when we asked the basis for refusing us he said he’s the manager. So unprofessional worst service ever. Now I have nowhere to go and have work early and I have to sleep in my car. I have emailed my lawyer and plan to take action . He was racist. Rude and he abused his authority even the police said it. He said his reason for not helping me was due to shift change so rather than checking me in he stayed later and helped other people. He targeted us as a young black couple. We had to take a picture of him. He Goes By Sam. HORRIBLE!!!! The hotel is in horrible conditions as a Wyndham member I have never seen a hotel like this . A man was in the little seating are outside was getting high off meth. It’s like homeless people live there. Ceiling falling apart smells like weed ,cigarettes and funk. Not an example of Wyndham I’m used to . He treated us like children like he was doing us a favor . -20 and Sam needs to be fired and he needs to be held accountable. He chastised us smirking and mumbling under his breath . Telling us good luck letting us know it was a personal vendetta. Lawyer please

Worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. Upon arrival, it took two hours to get our room keys. We were already pre-checked in and just had to go to the desk to pick our keys up. This process took two hours and as we were told rooms were “still being cleaned”, which was frustrating because we were from out of state for an event we had to get to. The lobby was full of people who had been waiting even longer for their keys. When we were waiting, the front door to the hotel would not close and continually opened (automatic door). There were also people hanging around outside that clearly were sketchy and yelling at cars in the parking lot. When we finally got our keys and went upstairs, we noticed the elevator was very overdue for its inspection and was very rickety. The second floor reeked of cigarette smoke, weed, and animals. The carpets and walls were damaged, absolutely filthy and clearly not cleaned in a very long time, and covered in grime and stains. The doors to the rooms were also filthy and damaged. Very noisy in the halls. Items also discarded in hallways. Our room upon entering was over 90°. The heater was on and blasting, mind you, in late May weather where the AC should be on. The room itself smelled heavily of cat urine. We were in there less than 5 minutes and had runny eyes and noses from the smell. The floor of the room was sticky and the windows were smeared on the inside with handprints and other questionable substances. The curtains also were filthy. Our window was stuck open and unable to be shut. There was no screen, therefore allowing any insects and whatever else wanted to come in, inside. The bedsheets were covered in stains, as were the pillows, which were so small they were more like accent pillows for a couch. There was black mold in the shower and on the bath mat. Bed was nothing but springs. Unable to be slept in. The photos online when I booked this hotel were NOT from this location. The rooms and exterior featured are from another Ramada, a typical one you would stay at. These rooms were so outdated and filthy, I can see why they found different images. If people saw what really was inside, no one would book a night. The microwave was extremely outdated and the fridge’s freezer area had frozen urine inside it. Absolutely disgusting! We checked out immediately upon bringing our luggage upstairs and got another hotel in the area to stay at. We were told we would be refunded, but have yet to see the refund. This was a horrible experience and completely unsanitary and needs to be checked by the health department. I advise anyone looking for somewhere cheap to go to pay a little more and book down the street. Your health isn’t worth the budget price… this is not your typical Ramada and it is appalling it holds their name.

I had a horrible experience here I stayed three (3) nightz first night broken window in the 1st room I told front desk waited all night for a room change I realized it was to late for it so I was told I have to wait until next shift I said okay is there some tape I can place a towel and tape it up they had no tape. Day two (2) I woke up freezing 🥶 as well as my puppiez I went to the front desk and requested a room change I was then moved to room two (2) there I was laying there on the bed while my kidz puppiez was watching tv (television) when I could have swore I seen something move in the corner of my eye so I then move and positioned myself in that direction I then caught a roach 🪳 yes a roach yes I said it I said to my other half maybe is just one I caught it with the clock. Then I seen another coming to find its family so I caught both roach 🪳’z. I went to the front desk and showed them the video that was captured on my phone 📱. Tiffany the desk agent told me the guy I think she meant the houseman to come and take a look I don’t know why I’m showing you ma’am okay I walked back to the room waited about 20 minutez later someone knocked I opened the door I seen two men they walked in I held my puppiez remember Tiffany said there going to take a look did you know these men pulled out canz of roach 🪳 spray and started spraying the whole room with windowz and door closed one of my pupz went bonkerz I guess what they were spraying really bothered him so I said to the man sir you was to come take a look what are you doing spraying with people and kidz in the room what’s is wrong with you could have said please step out or please go to the front with your belongings after I got loud because my pup is going krazy he sayz it’z a mistake I stated to him mistake getz people hurt if I was not holding my puppy it could have been worse for that man people do stupid thingz and say dumb 💩 and don’t expect to not to get checked on it. I came to the front desk again and told agent what these men did she said what I’ll speak to them I had a seat in the lobby area took pup outside for air and water to relax him he is good came back in she said to me I lied they didn’t spray nothing I told her I just act like a mad man and my pup going krazy for nothing please come to the room and smell the scent she failed to move placed me in another room. Room 3 after a 30 min wait got to the room smells like smoke so I opened the window as I got there dead bugz and roachz 🪳 on ac/heater unit. Really bad experience please use your best judgement…..SEE ⬇️

This is going to be a long one so grab a snack before you read this tea.

I stayed here on and off for the past three years. First when I moved to New Orleans and came back to visit family, and again when we moved back home to NJ but sold our house and were in the process of finding a new one. On several occasions, the hotel had issues but being that it was pet friendly and affordable we found ourselves back here again. When we first started staying here in 2021, the service was much better, the staff was apologetic and friendly when the rooms weren’t up the standards expected. When we stayed in November-January 2024, the staff was very unfriendly, unwelcoming and snobbish. Whenever I went up front to grab a few cups for my coffee, I would get dirty looks from one young woman who worked the front desk. I said hello and was ignored as if I didn’t deserve to be spoken to. The look given to me was as if she was judging me for living in a hotel, meanwhile she is the one working the overnight shift at the La Quinta with buckets catching water from various parts of a leaky roof just a few feet away from her but who am I to judge? I only have two college degrees. Whenever my husband would go up front to have the room keys re-carded because it would randomly stop working for no apparent reason, he was treated like a bother. God forbid you ask them for anything while they’re in the back chillin’. It's break time all of the time at the front desk at the La Quinta, amiright? Why are the keys not working anyway? It was so random and it would happen at the most inconvenient times.

They never had any clean sheets or towels; it was like pulling teeth getting them to give you any. Again, asking the front desk, you were always met with attitude or a “Don’t bother me” energy. I just stopped asking and started taking my sheets to the laundromat with my regular clothes which ended up being better since I knew dirty hands weren’t touching it. Housekeeping never bothered to knock to see if you need anything and only started after I called corporate to let them know the issue.

The rooms are bad and smell funky. The carpet is disgusting. We dropped iced water and went to clean it up and the paper towels were FILTHY. It was completely black. I am pretty sure the carpet has dirt from the 80s and probably why it smelled like Satan’s nut sack. We burned candles 24/7 and constantly sprayed air freshener. We bought cheap rugs to place around the room and never took our flips flops off. The halls smelled like feces and urine, the second floor smelled like a thousand dirty diapers fermenting in hell. I saw a roach one time but never a bed bug which is the main reason we put up with that place for so long. The mattresses had no protective coverings and there is only one sheet placed on top of it which I find disgusting. I used my own blankets as a barrier.

The parking lot is disgusting and none of the side entrance doors opened with the keycard so you would have to walk all the way to other side of the building and hope it would open or was left open by another guest because you won't be able to get back in otherwise. Really inconvenient if you were coming in with bags.

There are people who live in the hotel who I feel bad for, and I am sure they are treated in the same manner we were. They’re probably going through a rough time already and don’t need to be looked down on while they’re struggling through a certain season in life. Thankfully, mine was short. I am thankful it’s over and now and in a beautiful home, but I could have used some kindness from the staff at the La Quinta while having a hard time missing the comforts of home. I surely did not get that after literally spending thousands of dollars there. I will never step foot in there again, or any other La Quinta for that matter and I hope each one of the employees at the La Quinta in Fairfield, New Jersey who made us feel like we were beneath them read this from their leaky ceiling, night shift, low wage job while I sit in my hot tub drinking champagne watching the stars....

Unsightly, unsafe, and unsanitary! We travelled from out of state for a concert and were met with the worst hotel experience imaginable. We arrived at 4:00, and hour after check-in, and we're told we'd need to wait at least 40 minutes to get our room key, as the staff was still "cleaning" the rooms. There were dozens of others crowded in the lobby waiting as well, and all frustrated. After an hour, we finally got our room key. Just 1 room key for the 2 bed 2 adult room, unlike most hotels that give you two.

Entering the elevator was the first of many safety issues that we noticed. The elevator was overdue on its safety inspection by over a year.

Things got even worse when exiting the elevator. We began to question why we had to wait until 2 hours after check in to get our keys, as nothing seemed even remotely clean. As the doors opened, we were instantly hit with a strong odor of cigarette smoke from the hallway. The carpets were torn, stained, and didnt seem to have been vacuumed in years. There were sugar packets, candy wrappers, and bars of soap laying throughout the hall. The paint on the walls was peeling. There was white powder all over the carpet, and stains that resembled vomit throughout the hall. The dimly lit halls were not welcoming, and neither was the sight and odor

Upon arrival to our room, we found that it only got worse. The door was not closed, but ajar. Once opening the room, we were struck with an odor far worse than that of the halls. The whole room reaked of cat urine (which we later determined was most likely mouse urine). The heat in the room was set to 90 degrees and felt humid upon entry. The bathtub was full of black mold, the pillows and bedding were stained so bad you could see the discoloration from the doorway, and the curtains had a brown substance smeared over them. The furniture was also stained, and the lamp shades were torn. The windows were full of handprints and whatever else. The window also was partially open, and was jammed so that it could not close allowing pests inside. The fridge had a frozen yellow substance in it and smelled horrible. There were no carpets, probably to make the "cleaning" easier. But the hardwood floors were disgustingly sticky. I would never take my shoes off in a place like this.

The room did come with a microwave, but that was very outdated with knobs to operate it. The decor was just as outdated, with furniture and drapes from the 70s. The bed had 2 pillows, both half the size of a decorative couch pillow, and were beyond stained.

We had to leave to get to our concert, so we dropped our luggage in our room and left, but on the way decided to book at another hotel nearby, as there was no chance we were sleeping in this dump. I still feel gross that my luggage was even in there for the few hours it was.

After the concert we returned to get our things and abruptly check out. The lady at the desk didnt even question why, as I'm sure she knew that nobody wants to stay in these rooms. Unfortunately we checked out after midnight, so we lost the money on that night. We were told we'd get a refund for the second night, but have yet to actually see this.

This hotel needs a visit from the Health Department and the building condemned. The air itself cannot be healthy for those staying, and absolutely cannot be safe for those that work there day in and day out. I feel bad for the nice hibachi restaurant next door for sharing a wall with this disgusting place.

Spend the extra money to stay at a hotel that actually cares about your stay and your wellbeing. There's plenty of other...
