First of all, I would like to start with people in there. They were welcoming, accommodative, very patient, and very nice. Inside ambiance is really very good. It's not too dark or too right. Just right enough. Tables and chairs are clean. Went in with the idea of lunch buffet, but there are only 4 veg items. Way too less compared to other places. Probably, they had 2 non-veg items. Next food. The order was delivered pretty quickly. Unfortunately, the quality is not something I could boast about. The mixed veg pakoda was not even warm, and on top, it was charred. See the pic (half eaten). Rest can be seen in the other pic. Technically, it should be golden brown, but this was very dark brown to black. Ordered chili paneer and Gobi manchurian. Manchurian was kind of half baked. I could feel it to be still kind of eating batter and not Gobi. Chili paneer was OK, but a lot of big onion pieces. Chat papdi was the only one that was good. Entree, paneer masala was very good. Butter nan was soft and nice. Dal and jeera rice were also good. Veg biryani was ok. It was not great tasting, but it was not bad either. Manageable. I think we had too many appetizers, so probably biryani felt ok. But the texture was good, unlike I see in a lot of restaurants where it will be soggy and you don't like eating. Drinks were sherli Temple, which was good, and mango mint non alcoholic mohito was ok. Both had a very strong flavor of something artificial, which produced some medicine taste. But otherwise, we enjoyed the entrees. We have been to many parties in this restaurant and food was always good. If your requirement is more of an entree and not much appetizers, this would be a good place. It is a family owned business, and I have high regard to the family for serving the Indian community from such...
Read moreWe held a party at Jyoti. The hall was the only good thing. Our overall experience was pretty bad. My guests arrived in time, and the servers didn't bring the food till 45 minutes into the party. Buffet trays were always empty. We had to tell the server multiple times to refill the food. They were very short of staff. We got a live station of Aalu Tikki Chaat. It was a joke! The tikkis were laying on the side, with a bowl of chhole (chickpeas) in the middle. All the server did was add the yogurt and raw onion on the top. It was horrible! For Dinner, it was initially discussed that it would be out in 15 minutes after we tell them, but that day, the story was totally different. Dinner did not come out for 45 minutes to an hour. They intentionally delayed our program. We got the hall for 4 hours as per their policy, but we had to increase an hour and end up paying $300 extra! The food was cold, some of the entrees were dry and half cooked! We ordered 2 desserts- one was displayed, the other was being passed by the butler, but looks like hardly anyone got it!
I would NOT recommend this place!!
It was a total rip-off for us! The management...
