Where do I start. Parked my truck in the small parking garage under middle of building. People sitting in old lazy boys drinking at 10am. Put my head down sighed and said, “Here goes nothing”. Grabbed my bag and walked in the front door. No hello nothing just a blank stare from the girl at the desk. While checking the gas fee coffee so I poured a little into a cup took a sip nope in the trash it goes. She handed me my keys, again no enjoy your stay, no explanation of anything about the hotel, not even a thank you just a, ” Here you go.” Opened the door to my room put Down my bag and instantly could smell the familiar smell I get at work.!I’m a union HVACR Mechanic. I walk over to the AC shut it off check the filters haven’t been cleaned in probably a year or longer. Upon further inspection I found mold spores and that was it for me left the AC off and opened the window. Walking through the room I can see what looked to be like lint on the floor the freezer was stuck shot from melted ice cream bathroom was decent until I saw a spider on the toilet. Go to work come back fall asleep. Next morning i tell the lady at the front desk about the ice cream in the freezer the dirt on the floor etc she picks up the phone Calls of the manager He walks over again both blank stares… So now I repeat again my concerns regarding the room. The manager questioned me as if I was lying or didn’t believe me. Because I didn’t tell him the first day well I had work and brought it to their attention the next morning. The TV remote was not working so the girl instead of giving me new batteries walked up to my room with me to check it out how unprofessional… I am showing her that I am clicking the button to turn it on and it’s not working I hand it to her while she’s standing 1 foot away from the TV I watch her click it multiple times and it comes on with ||Attitude she says see and starts walks out ||Before she could walk out I’m showing her that it’s not working when I do it I don’t wanna be standing in front of the TV when I watch TV I will be laying in bed I said. She proceeds to tell me sir the remote is working and left. I took the batteries out of a tool in one of my bags swap them out and what do you know the thing works perfectly and fast. Beer cans in the stairs from day one today seven when I left the same can was there. At 129.00 a night you’d expect a little more this place is a 0 out of 10. Told the attitude girl one night being nice I went down and said your icemaker isn’t working she pretends like she doesn’t hear me I said ma’am your icemaker isn’t working I do this for a living and she tells me I’m not interested… I said I’m not looking to fix it I am waiting for you to acknowledge me and fix it. No response.. I asked a maid if there was any other ice machines available and that was the only one. Place does have a good restaurant downstairs but it has no affiliation with the hotel whatsoever. Lots of prostitution goes on in this hotel saw it with my own eyes on the last night don’t stay here stay far away!! That beer can was there from the day I came in to the day I left they do...
Read moreI was here 2 months ago, and had previously given this place 4 stars, I only took off for the smell. Seeing as how I had to come back to NJ, I decided to stay someplace I was familiar and drove an extra hour out of my way to come here. A COMPLETELY different experience. The front desk lady was rude AF. I would have left immediately but I have my daughter with me (whom I brought thinking I had a safe place to bring her, this being her first time ever up north and only my second time, period, here.) and we drove 16 and a half hours for my doctor appointment. I was quoted one price on the phone, and I made sure to ask if that price I was told on the phone included fees. I was assured it did. I got here and the price mysteriously jumped up by $20. The price I was quoted on the phone, mind you, was already $20 more (and I’m not even in an upgraded room) than it’s advertised online. (So that should have included the fees then, like I was told it did, RIGHT???) So all in all, I’ve paid $40 more than it’s advertised as. When I asked about it, the lady talked to me like I was stupid, saying it was “taxes”. (Editing this to note, I stayed at Quality Inn on my way back home, got the internet quote and called. When asked for the price with fees included, got the exact same price I was then charged in person and it was FIFTY dollars cheaper for TWO BEDS. Just the exact same quality of room and the people were very nice.) Interestingly enough, I’m somehow charged almost exactly the same price now for a single bed room as I was for a double bed room on my first visit, but sure, “taxes”. She kept asking me if we were bringing pets, even though I had told her twice already we had no animals. She then criticized the way I was holding the card in my hand and told me not to hold the card in the same hand I’m holding my other stuff, because I also had my phone and my keys in my hand. I’m standing there loaded down with bags and trying to help my daughter, who is legally blind and was struggling with her own things, and being criticized at 11:00pm after a long drive for holding something in the wrong hand??? Last I checked, I only had 2 hands. I have several more doctors appointments after this that will necessitate me coming back to NJ, but I will absolutely NOT come back...
Read moreThis used to be a comfort inn so it's not your basic Red roof inn. I was a little skeptic at first but with the amenity of allowing a pet with no incidentals or charging and taking your money for one pet is a blessing. It could use a little TLC in the stairwells painting and a little updating but overall I was put first into a room where the heat wasn't working I checked in late so I didn't say anything and the bed was not very comfortable in that room but they moved me the next day no problem and they are very laid back and accommodable. Thank you Dipa and Ashita for being welcoming and understanding when I have needed a little bit of time to circulate for my room. Housekeeping is not pushy. Only had one issue with the weekend front desk who was a little snotty and rude. Even after I told her I was staying another day she had called my room again and mentioned to check out late it was going to be an upcharge when I specifically told her I was going to be staying. I really didn't appreciate the phone calls back to back and her attitude. also the morning gentleman he was very kind and accommodating when I needed something early in the a.m. and I really appreciate it. So other than that I definitely suggest using this hotel it's a little bit better priced and you don't smell smoke in the halls you don't smell anything in the room and there is no mold smell in the hotel which truly matters to me because usually cheaper hotels you have mold issues. But definitely Love this hotel and I'm grateful for no up charges. The only thing that needs fixing I believe is the front door it doesn't open very far and that could use a little TLC the elevator...
