Disgusting, Cheap and Flimsy DISGUSTING RIP OFF!! in no way shape or form did this establishment live up to the hype of its billboards or commercials!! When I first called, the guy who answered was very accommodating, and that apparently is the best thing I could say. 2nd to that the fries were satisfying. The hostess was a Jersey crone w/no grace whatsoever! When I got the bill, I confronted her that that is not what I found on the Internet and she insisted emphatically that it couldnât be all because that would not be possible. She found it on her phone and insisted that thatâs the way that it was well one should be able to search for something and find it the way that it is and not be accused of fantasy! She was offensive and dĂŠclassĂŠ! I donât care what she was showing me because what I showed her is the way I came across what I was looking for, and that shouldâve been honored that is industry standard, and just plain good business. End-of-story. Well, if that wasnât enough, the food was horrible. I wanted a classic cheeseburger, and of course the photograph had to be more excellent and mouthwatering than the horrifying reality! With the order I had asked for salt, ketchup, and napkins. I got a few squeeze packets of ketchup. The salt and the napkins came in a single packet you would get on a cheap airplane flight or a quickie takeout food that was it! The burger was a ââââ show all its own! The bun wasnât toasted. I asked for it well done on the outside and medium! rare on the inside, it was barely cooked at all, they threw it on the pan and threw it at me..the meat was bad tâboot!, full of gristles as well! It was disgusting..
Apparently conflicting ads were found by myself as well as the poorly unaccommodating hostess with her Jersey marm attitude. I clearly showed her where I found that it was $12.95 with her telling me: â..that just couldnât be!..â showing me $15.95 only to have the bill be actually $17.95!!.. for what!? I donât care how old I am, what year it is and any economic changes!! In no way on this gods green earth was that platter worth even a fraction of what money I threw in the garbage for that swill!!! Any proper hostess has the capacity to alleviate the matter instead of just coming back with attitude on attitude because thatâs all she was.. I do not eat out often anymore. I wanted to treat myself from a long workday. The food was sickening, nowhere!!! near worth what I paid and I wouldâve gladly paid it had it been even palatable whatsoever!! PS I am a world, renowned traveler with exquisite native New...
Read moreIâve been here about ten times. The first time I came had me hooked. I ordered the special âprime flank steak with friesâ. I asked if the chef could prepare a bernaise sauce instead of the salsa verde. He did, and it was very good. The entire meal was good. This has been my experience most of the time, with the food.
The hospitality is usually very good. Iâm always welcomed by the front of house. I sit at the bar and make small talk with a couple of beers.
My most recent experience was different. And I donât think I will be back because of it. When I sat at the bar I ordered the exact same beer that I always order. This time, it came in a 12 oz pour instead of a 16. When I asked the bartender why, he told me the beer was above 8 percent and NJ State law requires it to be served in a different size glass. The bartender identified himself as the beverage director. I didnât realize the beer was above 8 percent, I thought it is 7.4-7.6. Iâm an avid home brewer, classically trained chef and ServSafe Berverage certified. I had a legitimate interest, and so I looked it up. It turns out we were both wrong, the Sculpin Grapefruit IPA is 7 percent. Then I thought âwhat is this lawâ. I couldnât find it. And again, I had a genuine interest. When I asked the bartender he mentioned that his Florida bartender certification allowed him to control the alcohol sales. He denied mentioning that itâs a state law.
I can work with honesty. I wish the bartender would have told me that they reduced the size for some of their pours in order to increase their profit margin. I would have continued to order. I want them to do well because I enjoyed it and would support a reason to come back. I wish he would have been humble enough to actually communicate the misinformation he gave me. Instead, he told me I was wrong and smirked when I asked what references I could use to find the laws for the allowable percent per pour for beer sales. Iâm still curious if anyone can point to it. Specifically for beer.
I should have asked to talk to the manager before I left, but I was very upset with the experience.
Go for the food. Practice caution with the information the beverage...
Read moreWe visited Prime 94 to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. The interior is completely renovated from the last restaurant that stood in its place. Itâs decor style is modern, with a big bar with high tops and two cozy dining spaces.
Our server was Eric, who was fantastic. He was friendly and attentive, and offered helpful suggestions when asked.
We were excited about the menu, and unfortunately, it did not deliver. For appetizers, we started with the house made meatballs, the bacon, and the crab cake. The meatballs, as described by my husband, were âmeh.â The bacon was coated with honey (this was not stated on the menu), so my carb-free husband couldnât touch the item he ordered. The crab cake was listed on the menu as filler free, so I was surprised when it came out with a coating of breading on the outside. Despite the misleading menu description, the crab cake was delicious and the two sauces (tartar and a spicy remoulade) were nice contrasts.
For mains, we ordered the porterhouse medium rare, twin lobster tails, creamed spinach, brussels, and asparagus au gratin. Our favorite item was the creamed spinach, which delivered big time on flavor. The other sides were good, but didnât deliver the same punch of perfect seasoning. The steak was a very big disappointment. The menu makes a big deal of listing out steak temperatures and what to expect, and our medium rare steak came out between medium and medium well, with absolutely no seasoning. The meat may have been salvaged with flavor if it had been seasoned properly, but it seemed to entirely lack any salt at all. The lobster tails were not fresh (Iâd put my money on poor-quality frozen), which was evident from the serious chewiness that not even drowning in butter could mask.
Overall, we were very disappointed. The menu was misleading about menu ingredients and neither of the mains, the steak or the lobster, were worthy of repeating due to lack of execution in the kitchen...
