Okay. So, here's our rant. About a week ago, I booked us a room at Quality Inn hotel in Farmington Missouri. I called this morning, double check that the reservation was good and what time we could check in, everything was taken care of. So we headed out of Poplar Bluff and about an hour and a half outside of Farmington we get a phone call from quality inn stating that our reservation was cancelled because there was a problem with the card. The card used to reserve the room was invalid (I'd used it buy groceries and had called the hotel to verify that I could use another card or pay cash when checking in. I was told that wouldn't be an issue as long as I was there by 3. Why he tried to run the card at 12 is beyond me). So I asked the guy if we would be able to get a room when we got to Farmington and he kept saying "we'll see." I explained that I wouldn't be happy if we drove two hours and didn't have a room there. We pull up to the hotel about to an hour before check-in, walk in the door and as soon as we enter the lobby, he looks up at the hat my husband was wearing and sees the American flag on there and can tell that it's a military hat! (He was of Hindu decent). Walk up to the front desk and I tell the guy (General Manager Mike Patel) " I just need to see if I have a reservation." He immediately tells me that I do not have a reservation without even touching his computer or asking my name. At this point, we begin to explain that our reservation still shows up on their website to which he states that we are on the wrong website. And that policy states, per their website that we have until 7am to check into the room before an attempt is made to charge the card. He argues that that is not the policy, although it is clearly on their website. I go to explain the call I'd made previously regarding the mix-up with the card. I say "Well, sir. I actually called the other day..." And he begins shaking his head "No" at me mid sentence. Needless to say I blew my top!! He even had the audacity to tell me I was not welcome on the property again. Like we'd EVER step foot in that hotel again? I will be contacting the local news channel regarding discrimination...
Read moreMy family stays in Farmington every year while we visit our Missouri native family, this trip at quality inn we had booked for 9 days. We left after the first night, we were so disgusted. Other guests were incredibly disrespectful and loud. A couple was in the lobby arguing and swearing at eachother when I first came in to check in. Got my keycard, got up to the room with our things, and the keycard didn’t work. Sent my husband down to get a new one, took over 15 minutes to get help since nobody was at the desk. Comes back with new card, still doesn’t work. I go back to the desk, takes another 20 minutes to get assistance since nobody was present. Desk agent tells me our door card reader has a dying battery so we got a different room. New room reeked of weed and cigarettes from neighboring rooms smoking. Several loud men were at the pool into the early hours of the morning drinking and smoking weed, and the smell was carrying to the second floor. The shower was coming apart, and water came full pressure out of both the shower head and the faucet, so we could only shower for 3-4 minutes before the bathtub was completely full. The AC airflow didn’t reach the entire room, so sleeping was a sweaty nightmare. There was an old baby bottle full of curdled whatever behind our nightstand, dog hair all over the sheets and between the mattress and bed frame. Went down to continental breakfast the next morning, where a man proceeded to come down in his boxers, no shoes, and no shirt, clearly inebriated to get food. We have younger children and we didn’t feel safe here from the moment we checked in. Before checking out, we found out an acquaintance of our family had been down to this quality inn to purchase drugs from their dealer staying here. That sealed the deal for us, we asked for a refund of the remaining trip and luckily found a hotel that gave us a deal for what we went through at the quality inn. Stay far away from this place, especially if you are traveling with children!! What used to be a beautiful getaway has spiraled into an outdated mess with undesirable...
Read moreThis hotel is decieving. When we got to our room, there were multiple things that immediately caught our eye. First, the TV was unusable. We later that night spoke to the front desk clerk about it and determined the TV was unfixable. They knew the TV was faulty and didn't warn us or give a heads up online. We were offered a reduction on our total price, but when we went to check out our bill was exactly the same. No deduction. The clerk gave us the bosses name and phone number, and it turned into a ridiculously tedious process. The second thing that we noticed was that our conjoined room door was jacked up. We had two rooms, 210 and 211. 210's door opened fine, but the other one had a deadbolt that was stuck in place. it took us hours to fix it just because a lack of care. There are a few other things that upset us during our stay. First, the biggest issue, was our smoke detector was wrapped in tissue paper. It was done so it didn't go off when smokers were there, but it remained during our stay. It was faulty and put my family in risk. This is unacceptable. The second thing we noticed was that the indoor pool was dirty. We went to check it out and it looked like the filter was broken in many pieces, and there were old pool toys there. The water was cloudy and dirty, and even knowing that the clerk encouraged us to use it. The third thing we noticed was that the room was overall dusty and dirty. 210 specifically with our air conditioning unit. The units filters are disgusting and there was a solid three inches of dust layering over it. Not only that, the lamp was covered in dust aswell. It caused our allergies to flare up extremely bad whenever we went to bed. We ran out of hot water on the Saturday night and Sunday morning of our stay, and it was an hotel wide issue as both of our rooms didn't have any. The beds were comfortable. The breakfast was good, aswell. Good variety. But, if you stay here, bring plenty of tissues. With the amount of dust and lack of cleanliness, you'll...
