I would like to respond to "Nate's" review from last month. I was the father of the groom of the wedding in question. Nate's review is tainted by the fact that he thought he was in charge of the whole event.
As we were prepping for the wedding, he did a "sound check" that was too loud for us to even get organized, as we were preparing to march down the aisle. This continued after the wedding. He ignored repeated requests to turn down the music, BY THE WEDDING COUPLE, as well as your staff! We recognize the hotel had other guests and were embarrassed by his ridiculous behavior. His "elevator music" whine was actually requested by the bride and groom - the ones who hired him. He was just the hired help who thought he was the boss.
He was eventually fired and told to leave before the reception was even over. Your employees were wonderful, accommodating, helpful, and friendly. Nate seemed to think he was playing an outdoor stadium and that HE knew better what the couple wanted than they did. His demeanor was hostile, arrogant, and rude even at the start, even going so far as to hint that the bride and groom wouldn't make the long haul.
His review is untrue, unfair, and spiteful because he wasn't allowed to be in charge. He's from very southern MN (and an acquaintance of the bride's stepfather or he never would have been hired in the first place) and it's unlikely we'll ever have to deal with him again. He was arrogant, rude, demanding. A cheerleader does not tell the coach what plays to call, but Nate seemed to think he was in charge of the day. His review is defamatory and should be ignored by everyone! I apologize to your staff who had to deal with him. They showed great patience and poise and were very professional.
I also need to point out that if you look up Nate's past reviews, they are all the same. I wonder if Nate needs psychiatric help because he sure seems to show symptoms of a major...
Read moreBEWARE of booking an event here! We hosted a well advertised fundraising event that was scheduled months in advance. The reason I booked here was because I was told if needed, that we could overflow into the lobby and would also have access to the unused eating space after breakfast! I tried to make any âworkâ the staff had to do like providing coffee and water easier by sharing the already set up drink station in the lobby, so that they didnât have to monitor two. We also offered them free donuts, drinks and other baked goodies!
Upon arrival I was told I could not do either of those things and the space we had planned for use was significantly decreased. When I confronted the manager about not wanting to pay full price since I wasnât getting the full space I was told I would. Her response was âthere is a new manager, so there are new rulesâ and she said âI should have confirmed all this before the eventâ to which I responded, âI did when I called to get permission for the giant sign advertising this event on your lawnâ!!
I was then told we could use the overflow room if I paid the full price. However, after I paid cash they locked the doors and refused us access to the extra room. We ended up with nowhere for our patrons to eat, and although the room was sitting unused all afternoon they would not even allow us to pay extra for the use of it. I have done several similar events all over town and I have never been so dissatisfied by a venue host. I truly got the impression that us paying to use this otherwise empty space was a huge inconvenience for them. I tried to stay professional, but they would not budge at all and our event suffered as a result, I will never host another birthday party...
Read moreThis will be a long review I was hired by a couple to provide music for there wedding on 3-8-2025 take into account i have been doing this for 15 years and this place is the worst event center i have ever been to in my life.
First issue i have is that they kicked everyone out the room for 45 min to put up 6 tables and wouldn't let anyone help them cause of liability reasons and made everyone stand in there lobby with not much seating.
On top of that they allowed alcohol being brought in for the wedding with out a vendor and without a liquor license which is a liability in itself but every other hotel has either there own liquor license or a vendor that comes in to provide it.
Now to the main issue come around 10pm they wanted the music turned down to basically elevator music when the room was booked till 12pm now why would you even consider having wedding receptions if you want people to be quiet but the issue i have is whoever was the manager is a complete joke basically in my opinion was trying to be threatening for turning down music after i told them i cant really turn it down much more or we might as well turn it off and she said do what you have to do for one they paid you to be there and they paid me to be there so end result is they kicked me out for providing a service that every wedding reception has.
If i was anyone looking to have any kind of event here i would stay far away 15 years of providing music to couples on there wedding day and this place is the worst i have ever been to if upper management would like to discuss this issue i can explain in much further detail as for that manager she deserves to fired and never hired in the hospitality...
