I'm a Hilton Honors member for a reason. They have wonderful locations, clean rooms, and of course the free breakfast. But this location is one of the best locations and should serve as a training for new managers.
This location absolutely went above and beyond for me. My son (12) & I arrived at 6am on a Monday morning after a long delayed flight into the Nashville airport and then the long drive to the hotel. It was obvious we were exhausted. They had been fully booked the night before and it was another two hours before the housekeepers arrived. The manager Daniel and receptionist Kat, went to work trying to find me a solution. First, they put us in room 101, which I believe is always reserved for those managers that need a place when they have to work long hours and just need a quick place to crash or handicapped guests. I know 101 is usually only rented as a last resort. It's a small room with handicap options.
First, there was an issue. A very important gentleman guest arrived at the desk needing a cab to go to the Falcons training complex which was only three miles away but they could not get their cab service to respond. They needed help so I offered to take the gentleman to the complex if they would just get my son into a room. It was an easy fix. I needed them to focus on my issue. I told Kat to just get my son to a room and I'd run the guest to the complex.
I got back within about 8 minutes to find my son and all our luggage had been moved into the room and my son was finally settling down. We still had time to run for the free breakfast which was a clean, well maintained area. All the food put out was fresh and the manager of the kitchen service was fussing with everything. She would not allow one spill or dirty service tool to go uncleaned, and still ensured the serving dishes were stocked. All while she went out of her way to stay out of all the guest's way.
Later in the day after napping we found we had been moved to a larger room with two beds and couch. This was wonderful because a 12 year old boy needs his own space to bounce around when his mother is distraught over the actual reason we were there, a close relative's funeral.
The original rate for this room was $169 but because this was the only room available they only charged me $149. As we were leaving the breakfast area I talked with Daniel for a few minutes to explain why I was there. I knew later that night that by 2:00 the next day we would be leaving. We had come to my home state for a funeral but were taking advantage of the visit to see other family members in the surrounding states. It was a sad time but as a writer I was able to finally do some research I wanted to do.
As I was checking out Daniel handed me my receipt and as I looked at it I realized they had only charged me $119 for my very nice room. I looked at Daniel. He smiled and told me they had only charged me the bereavement rate. I had not asked for it but out of the kindness of his heart and because corporate allows the on-site managers to make their own decisions when necessary, Daniel made the decision to comfort me. This is probably one of the kindness things he could do and it was not asked for. Thank you, Daniel.
One last note, I'm an author under another name and my Hilton Honors account is under my author name. When Kat saw my name she squealed, actually, scaring me! She had read my books and was able to tell me details of only someone who had read my books and liked them. Even though it was 6am in the morning it was a totally cool feeling and considering what I was going through it was the bright spot of my grieving period. I happened to have copies of my books with me and I was able to give her dedicated and signed books before she left that day. The only thing I missed was a photo of us together. Kat if you read this thank you for making my morning and maybe setting me back on the correct path. Please send me a picture via social media so I can...
Read moreNever had a problem before and I liked this hampton, as a personal choice. This time was different. 10/10 I reserved a room for 6 days, arriving 10/20, with appropriate discounts for around 700$. On 10.18 I called and upgraded to a full suite for the same dates and agreed to the price increase to about 1100$. I wanted a suite, with kitchenette near the elevator or ground floor near an exit...(older with walking issues). No problem, I was assured all would be fine.. Upon arrival, I was surprised to learn that hampton inn AND SUITES has no suites. Apparently this property considers putting a couch in the room makes it a suite. No kitchen, tiny coffee maker in the bathroom, (ik) 5th floor, midway down the hall for 1400$. When I tried to work with the front desk gal to go back to the original reservation for 700, since I got nothing I asked for except a bed, I was kindly told that I was very mistaken, there is nothing in their system for 700, ever. I produced the original confirmation email and still was denied. The best she could do was about 1200$. No sense arguing with the front desk, just doing her job. Opened a case with customer service to credit me back to the original 700, took the room and am waiting for a response. All that being shared, only kicked out 1 star....the complimentary hot breakfast kicked out the other. Cold rubber eggs, cold hard potatoes, cold sausage, no waffle maker or anything fancy, very basic, oatmeal was pretty good. We went out for breakfast. Overall, this hampton stay was very disappointing, but sadly there really isn't any competition at this exit. I could complain about more, but, points made. I will give back 1 star MAYBE if customer service fesses up to the reservation issue errors and gives me the original quoted (and confirmed) price 700$. Ok, the room was spare, small tv-OK from the couch, a bit too far from the bed, unplugged lights, previous occupant toothpicks on the floor and didn't find USB plugs. On the plus side, room drapes made it nice and dark for morning sleep and the bed was comfy enough. đ´ staff seemed tired and overworked. Probably a sign of the times these days, but I greeted everyone first and wished them...
Read moreThis hotel is average. I called the number listed on google at 12am to see about reservations. The lady was super nice. I told her I was just passing through and would be at the hotel a little after 1a since I was just traveling through. Literally just needed a place to lay my head and shower. The lady said no problem on the "late check-in", and that she was note it on the reservation. When I got to the hotel after reading reviews about break-ins I took anything valuable in so I was toting a lot. We get to the double doors and the second set didn't open. Security measures, I'm sure. I press the buzzer, and we knocked on the glass. A lady walks out CLEARLY annoyed that we were there. Her body language was very very clear as she gestures with her hands... I'm sure it was for security but she wouldn't open the doors at first and I had to talk to her through it. I told her I had a reservation and she blatantly said no you do not. I responded holding my phone up showing her the email that showed I did. Finally she opens the doors, still annoyed. She went back and forth with me about not having a reservation, I even gave her my confirmation number, and told her they took my credit card to hold the room. It got to the point to where I said "Look, I just want a room. I am tired. I don't care if my card is run twice that can be handled later". Then her attitude slightly improved. She did let us know that if we needed an extra hour after check out to just let the front desk know since we checked in so late. Her name was Lisa. The next morning we over slept the grab and go continental breakfast, however the front desk staff that was there was ssoooo much more nice than the lady we had previously dealt with. They allowed us to stay an extra hour and there was no additional fee/charge for it. The rooms were semi dated, but most importantly they were clean! We had no break in, but it would have be nice to see some cameras covering the parking lot just for a better sense...
