UPDATE 2: My son and I came for dinner tonight as we have for many years now. But for the first time we got to meet Vinny the husband of the amazing team that owns and runs Crossroads. We have met his wife multiple times who runs the front of the house and have been incredibly impressed with how well she treats their employees, teaches them the right way to do things down to the finest details, and is an all around wonderful person. But meeting Vinny tonight was just as wonderful and showed just how much he equally cared about the recipes, the quality of the product they put out, making a connection with his customers, and most of all taking care of his employees who he views as family. They have perfected their trade for 25 years at crossroads after many more years prior to that, working for others in learning the right and wrong way to do things. But at Crossroads they get to do things the way they want and it shows. It shows in the incredible food they put out consistently, it shows in the staff that love them back in return and provide incredible customer service. And it shows in a clean and very well run facility where they take pride in everything they do. This is honestly the best family-run restaurant I've ever come across and we love eating here every chance we can get! If you're visiting for the first time, you have to try the rack of ribs...they are absolutely fabulous! And if you have a chance to ask for Rebecca to take care of you, she is a wonderful server and took great care of us tonight. Thank you, Rebecca! UPDATE: Been visiting here now 3 years. It is as fantastic every time we come as was our very first visit! ORIGINAL: Our son just moved to Flowery Branch. After a weekend of helping him move, we were very happy to have discovered such a wonderful local tavern with excellent food and service. Angie, as a long-time local, warmly welcomed our son to the neighborhood and provided fantastic service as well as much appreciated advice on other great places to visit, shop and eat. All three of us ordered something different, and every single thing.....from the appetizers to the deserts....were excellent. Even the wine list offered multiple vineyards we love at extremely reasonable prices. The atmosphere was also comfortable and relaxing; with a bar area that had all the various live sporting events on screens viewable from multiple angles, a patio seating area for those wanting to enjoy their meal with some fresh air, and a large indoor area of medium and large booths that were very comfortable. We literally said when we left, "It is so rare to find a place with great food, great drinks, great atmosphere and great service. This place is definitely going to be a regular stop for us!" In fact, I think we'll meet our son there again this...

They did not take reservations so you had to just show up. We got seated about 10 minutes after we arrived. We received our drinks within about 10 minutes after sitting down. The restaurant was fairly busy but it wasn't on a wait list or anything like that. After our drinks were given the waitress asked if we wanted any appetizers which people at the table did get. I did ask if we could go ahead and place our order because we knew that it was gonna take some time to get our food and were on a time constraint. The waitress kind of got rude and said no sorry I can't do that right now I have to go and tend to another table because they were placed in my section and I have to greet them and take their drink order first. The appetizers came out 10 to 15 min later and they finally took our main dinner order after being there for about 30 minutes. They did bring some rolls out to snack on at the time the appetizers came out. We did not receive our dinner food for an hour and 25 minutes after arriving. We had reservations to go do something at 8pm. Should have been plenty of time to get our food and get out. But we received our food at 730pm so we only had 30 minutes to eat and then get to the place where we were going 20 min away. The owner of the restaurant came over and she was talking to a few people at our table. They explained that it was my daughter's birthday and we already had prior engagements to go somewhere because we have a reservation and that it took us so long to get our food. The owner had the nerve to say that it was just busy and it was what it was and said that if we had other plans that maybe we shouldn't have come out to eat at a busy restaurant on a Saturday night. 2 hours was plenty of time to get into a restaurant and get our food. We had been to much bigger restaurants and they were equally as crowded and never had an issue getting our food at least with within 45 minutes. Just the attitude that we were given was not okay. I will tell you that none of our food came out hot. It was warm at best. We usually love this restaurant but the service tonight was terrible. Not to mention the fact that the owner could have been little more sympathetic.... I'm not really sure what the hold up was in the kitchen but tons of people around us that were sitting there were very disappointed. Not good...
Read moreFirst and last visit. While the service at Crossroads “Bar” and Grille was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive, the food was average. The house salad was an interesting mix of lettuce, almond slices, blue cheese crumbles and canned pears with a sweet pepper house dressing. It ultimately did not come together well as the dressing was unremarkable. The Filet was not flavorful and the grilled Brussel sprouts were overcooked and lacked texture. The fries, which came out after the steak was delivered, were fresh, crisp and good. The plate presentation was uninspired and included too much empty space. Probably a 3-star establishment if you’re careful with what you order.
What caused my 1-star review was a bizarre encounter with either the manager and/or owner midway through our meal. When my teenage daughter, girlfriend and I arrived, my girlfriend and I ordered a cocktail. When my girlfriend ordered her dinner, she also ordered a glass of wine to come with her entrée. A few minutes after ordering, our waitress informed us she couldn’t serve my girlfriend her glass of wine because she hadn’t finished her cocktail. We thought it was strange because she didn’t want the wine until her entrée was served and we’ve never been told by a “bar” that you couldn’t have more than one drink at a time. Our entrees arrived, my girlfriend had finished her cocktail and her glass of wine was served. After our meal was finished, my daughter ordered dessert and my girlfriend and I ordered dessert cocktails. To be clear, this would be my second cocktail and my girlfriend’s third, having been at the restaurant for nearly 2 hours. A woman approached our table, asked about how our meal was and how we’d heard about the restaurant and then said, “I don’t mean to be intrusive, but…” she went ahead and intruded. She leaned over our table and asked my girlfriend if she was okay to drive because she was drinking so much. My daughter immediately said she would drive, which was ignored by the woman and she pressed my girlfriend again. My girlfriend pleasantly tried to laugh it off, but the woman wouldn’t leave without an answer. We have no idea why we were singled out, in a “bar” with shots on the menu and drunk patrons cheering on a football game and breaking glasses only feet from our table. It was very uncomfortable and we were disturbed by the woman’s embarrassing behavior. We...
