Nice place but booker BEWARE! Pros: Very nice place in the heart of Floyd, reasonable pricing. CON: BEWARE when booking - they use a Monday to Sunday week on their booking calendar with a faint gray font. We reasonably thought we were booking Friday and Saturday nights (usually the last 2 days showing for a calendar week) and showed up on Friday night to find out we had mistakenly booked Saturday and Sunday (their last 2 days showing for the week) and had nowhere to stay on Friday. They refused to refund our unneeded Sunday night since it did not fit their 5-day cancellation policy, even though it was due to their misleading calendar. We had to drive to Christiansburg to try to find a room last-minute. Thank goodness there was not a VT game or we would have had to sleep in the cab of our pickup on a cold night. The calendar is very poorly-designed, and for an "older" couple like us, difficult to read because of the light font. Very disappointed in their booking system and uncaring customer service. Suggestions for improvement: USE A NORMAL CALENDAR with a darker font; kitchen towels, oven mitts, baking sheet(s) are needed in the kitchen. Otherwise the place itself was beautiful and convenient. These units are fabulous! Updated and modernly furnished! The design of the old building incorporated in a way that is stylish and warm. We enjoyed having the kitchen to prepare food and snacks in house, the kitchen is well stocked with things you may need including coffee and tea supplies! The tub/shower is roomy and comfortable. Access to the building and rooms is so easy with doors that automatically lock a few moments after entry or exit so no danger in forgetting to lock the unit. As great as the building units are, the location is phenomenal! If you are doing downtown Floyd, it is perfect.
