Gorgeous little chocolate shop! As a self-proclaimed chocoholic, I can verify this is one of the best chocolate shops I've ever visited! Don't let the quaint exterior fool you: this lovely little shop contains not only locally-made goodies, but delicacies from around the world! The owner was very welcoming and even encouraged us to have samples of any chocolates we were interested in (including *the* best hot cocoa I've ever had the pleasure of trying!). These treats will transport you to their country of origin with a taste and sense adventure that is truly an experience. They even have chocolate teas, soaps, FROZEN hot cocoa (whoa), daily fresh-baked goods, custom truffle boxes, and more. It's great for gifts or a little treat for yourself. 😉 It would be dangerous if I lived closer, but this is a MUST visit for any chocolate lover!

I have been to artisanal chocolate shops all over the world and Cocoa Mia is one of the best. Their stock is incredibly curated with bars from Dubai, China, etc. One of the owners, Grayson, approached us and offered us a sample taste of anything they stock (unheard of customer service) which was great because the choice was so overwhelming! He tailored our tasting to what we liked and then also suggested some new things to try. If you are passing through Floyd, don't miss this experience, especially the hot chocolate which Grayson told us was modeled after his memories of Paris cafes in his younger days. They even give you free samples of this delicious elixir in cute little mugs. A peak experience you don't want to miss!

Spur of the moment, living for the day sort of experience brought us into Floyd to shake things up. Everyone recommends visiting the chocolate store so that's just where we ended up. We were greeted with hot chocolate that was phenomenal and went on to try some of the chocolates while having the best conversation with the owner. If more down home shops were run like this place I'm pretty sure our world would be a better place.

We loved this store. It's cute, cozy, and overall a real find.

While there was a complaint from another reviewer about pricing, I don't really agree. Compared to other chocolate stores (Godiva, Chocolate Spike in Blacksburg) prices are quite reasonable, with most truffles running in the $1.65 - $2.00, depending on the ingredients. Obviously, if you're used to picking up a box of Russell Stover, this is expensive, but not when looking at comparable chocolate.

The owners of the store were there, minding the counter, and they were amazingly friendly and helpful. They obviously have a passion for their chocolate, and offered recommendations and assistance with great enthusiasm.

Now on to the really important thing -- the CHOCOLATE! We had a pretty big sampling, between myself, my two daughters, and my wife.

My oldest ordered the classic dark sipping chocolate. This really is a chocolate bar in drinking form, and quite delicious. We all had some -- it was more than my daughter could drink (it wasn't a large mug, but it is very rich).

My younger daughter had a fudgesicle. These are also made in-store, and are very good -- but it's a fudgesicle, nothing really super-special. However, it went very well with the warm sipping chocolate drink. Bite of fudgesicle, sip of chocolate. Yum!

My wife and I had a sampling of truffles. The selection apparently changes all of the time. We had Mayan Chocolate (dark chocolate with cinnamon and cayenne), Chocolate buttercreams (vanilla and chocolate buttercream), Chocolate peanut butter, and took home several other varieties. My favorite was the Mayan Chocolate -- it was a hint spicy, without being overpowering. Quite delicious. My wife loved the buttercreams, with their very thin, perfectly tempered outer chocolate shell and homemade buttercream interiors. She'd go back just for those.

Overall, this was a wonderful experience that I will definitely...

The folks who own Cocoa Mia are wonderful and the chocolate, goodies, sweets and treats are divine. This is how a business needs to run! This is how you treat your customers. Anyone who needs a reminder, come on in. You will not be disappointed. I love their mayan truffles, hot chocolate, macarons, sipping chocolate, ice pops and millionaire shortbread. Everything is dangerous (because it is so good). The best part is the greeting and welcome you feel when you enter whether the shop is packed or empty. I wish I could come in everyday but then I would be broke. I’ve been coming to Cocoa Mia the last 4 or so years. There is always something new to try too. The shop is delightful. I love buying treats for myself, family, friends and special occasions. There are even chocolate bars from around the world. If you are in Floyd, go to Cocoa Mia. You do not want to miss the people, the chocolate and the...

The positive review I want to write about this place will be so positive that it'll probably annoy you. Chocolate truffles? 10 stars out of five. The Rose Cardomom truffle has found itself in the hall of fame in my food soul. Hot chocolate? So good that we literally came back on our way home to get another cup. 20 stars out of 5. The owner? 25 stars out of 5. The young lady who recommended not only the best truffles, but catered to our taste, and even recommended cool ways to eat them (turn the raspberry one upside down so the dried berries hit your tongue; I mean come on, that's an All Pro tip)? Billion stars out of five. She also gave us tons of advice for stuff we were looking to do around the area. Her and the owner basically left us with the warmest feeling for this town and we will basically go twice every time we...
