Musty, smelly, and moldy! I only stayed here for a night during a road trip but I would NOT suggest staying here if you have allergies or have a sensitive immune system, please go elsewhere! The room I was in appeared ‘renovated’ in regards to the flooring, bed and other fixtures but they still have underlying issues with ventilation/lack of proper cleaning it seems since other reviewers have shared a similar experience. The bathroom didn’t appear renovated like the rest of the room as the exhaust fan was old, didn’t work properly and the tub/walls had chipping and were very poorly caulked/painted. Cleaning needs to be improved and towels/pillows had stains so those should be replaced first and foremost. The manager of this hotel needs to be aware of the moisture issues these rooms have because the smell of cleaning products and strong mildew odor is what first hits you upon entering the room so it’s evident that they have had ongoing mold issues as there was mold present in the pictures on the wall as shown on my photo which is concerning and a possible health hazard. It was not a comfortable stay because of all these issues I encountered and does not uphold to the Choice Hotels standard I’ve seen at other locations. The only positive experience was checking in as the man upfront was efficient and friendly but aside from that this hotel has to be one of the worst hotels I’ve stayed at. I’m hoping management takes the time to review the rooms, address the moisture issues and replace important items to ensure a comfortable visit for future paying customers because a lot of issues are beyond minor and it’s...
Read moreThe reason for the score is before I even got to the hotel to check in. The manager had the desk clerk to call me. It was not time for my check in time. It was 1130 or either 11:40 AM on Friday the day of check-in the May 23,. My drive to Forrest City, Arkansas is 500 miles. I had canceled one of my rooms because of sickness. They tried to run my card which I told them. It was just a card to hold the room. And I would pay for the room with another card. This manager had the nerve to call and request that I give them my card before I ever get there to the hotel on my way traveling to a funeral the death of one of my family members. If there have been any other hotels available, I would have went there, but I’m praying and hoping that I do not have to stay in the quality Inn in Forrest City, Arkansas that was disrespect to my dad and auntie. I can see why they only have three stars and a half. The manager wanted to make sure because it was a big event in Forrest City that the rooms needed to paid for before i get there. I have been with Choice Hotel’s too long for some kind of manager to act this way. And also did not check to see that I only had one room and not two rooms. I had canceled one room on Tuesday 20th May. And I had to tell them that so to me the only thing they were trying to do is make sure they get paid and that’s just not good business and I did not like it and I will try my best to not stay a quality Inn in Forrest City and none of my family members as well. I will not...
Read moreStayed here a couple nights while visiting family starting on a Friday. Picked this hotel based on the continental breakfast and closeness to the highway. Upon check-in, I was greeted, and information was verified. They received payment in full for a check-out on Sunday. $100 deposit was held for the duration of my stay, which was understandable. However, before leaving, I once again verified that they had my checkout as being Sunday, and they reply was yes. However, that was not the case. I was locked out on Saturday at noon. Unfortunately, I wasn't aware of this until Saturday at midnight when I tried to return to my room after a long day. So I had to go and get my key reactivated. This is why I verified my check out in the beginning, in fear this would happen.
The room was in immediate need of renovations. There was dust everywhere, the seal of the door was in the condition as if it had been broken down a few times, its not safe, instead of a fire/smoke alarm there was a hole in the wall where it once was and the sheets where stained.
I actually stayed in this hotel around the same time last year, and the staff seemed to be more accommodating, but there looked to be new management this year.
Continental breakfast consisted of waffles, cereal, bagels, sausage links, microwaved eggs, biscuits w/gravy, juice, and coffee. As a long-term Sam's Club member, I can tell that they shopped there as well. So, no...
