We booked this hotel with a wedding block (September 2022), all of whom like us were from out of State (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania). From the moment at check in, until our departure after 3 days, the staff were nothing short of amazing. Thank you to Zak, Michael, Ben, Gunnar, Gabby and Phil, all of who covered the front desk! The check in/main lobby area had plentiful groups of comfortable seating. The staff was engaging, answered and gave local recommendations on things to do, never acting as if we were a bother to them. The common area was extremely clean, bright, comfortable and always had two fresh jugs of water, one was always flavored with a fun fruit mixture. When traveling with a group, its always nice to have a comfortable common meeting area, and this hotel had plenty of seating options. Each morning we were greeted for Starbucks by a very welcoming smile from Dianne. She was a pleasure to chat with early morning, and made sure to start your day off the best it could be with a perfect cup of coffee. If you are an early bird or had an early departure, there is hot coffee at no charge in the lobby until Starbucks opened at 6:30 After our coffee, we would be greeted by Benjamin who was the breakfast attendant. He was a pleasure to work with and always rearranged as needed to have us all seated together. The breakfast buffet was not included, however, the price was very reasonable, and the food was always hot, fresh and presented very nicely. Phillip went above and beyond on our last day by offering a private breakfast room to accommodate all of us. The guests rooms were bright, updated, clean. One of the best features was no carpeting other than the bedside runner. One would think it would increase the noise from outside the rooms or other rooms, which I didn't find. It was actually so quiet at night in this rather full hotel, that I had to use a white noise app on my phone for some level of noise. That was impressive! The bed was very comfortable and clean. I especially liked the shower, the rain head and a wand. The bath products were plentiful and of nice quality, I was pleased with the full size vs using those little bottles. The only suggestion I would have for the room would be to install some sort of room freshener that would be optional for the guest to use in the bathroom. Without having a circulation fan, it would be nice to be able to freshen with a little spray. With it being optional, those having allergies or affected by scent, would not have to be bothered by it. Last but not least, at check out time, I wanted to be sure I remembered everyone's name, and wanted to say good bye to Brandon Lin, who was beyond a pleasure to work with. I asked him who the manager was so I could be sure they were aware of the great accommodations and staff that we experienced, he chuckled, handed me his business card and said that it was him. He never once let on or had reason to tell me that he was the manager, he worked equally with his staff and that says a whole lot to me being in a management position. Thank you Marriott Family, for maintaining and staffing a wonderful hotel. You have a great team on East Horsetooth Road in Forth Collins!! With speaking to a few employees, from maintenance on up, they were happy to tell me their length of service to Marriott, a few...
Read moreAfter checking into my hotel, I went to the hot tub. I wasn't gone long and when I returned to my room my keys didn't work. I went to the desk where I was ignored half naked, dripping wet and told with little discretion that "my" card was declined and their system automatically deactivates room keys if a card is declined. It wasn't my card, it was my employers. The concierge was determined to not let me back to my room. I offered personal cards which were not run or declined. Then I'm told it's already worked out with the employer's card. I was paraded looking like a drowned rat through their lobby and denied my belongings over nothing!
If this is their system's automatic response, it's not legal. You cannot force a guest not dressed appropriately for being in public from their room without cause. You presume the rights of a tenant upon check in and you may not lock them out, let alone in the state I was in being in nothing but a bathing suit and towel. I might be the most body conscious person alive and it took a lot to leave my room in that suit. I thought I could quietly slink away to my room if it got to be too much. I tried to, only to have this happen. I'm humiliated, angry and didn't get so much as an apology. You know that nightmare where you're in public naked- he kinda did that to me and to put salt in the wound, he basically calls me a derelict to half the lobby.
Update- they did it again. Twice in one week. At least I had clothes on this time, but the clerk literally said I could not go to the room, even to collect my things, and again, my keys were reinstated without saying why.
They didn't clean my room until they thought that I was leaving, but they deliberately didn't replace any soap or leave any towels in an effort to keep me from messing up the clean that should have been all week.
I would love for someone there to explain to me what they think I did to deserve this. My bill was paid by my employer, so it shouldn't be here or there, but they seem to think I committed some offense to them.
The maid knocks at 8:30am despite a privacy tag on the door. It's not kept clean, and they seem to think certain guests aren't welcome, but fail to completely explain who and why. They lock you out and tell you that you are not allowed access to your essentials including clothes and medications. They won't say what they want for it. You're supposed to guess. I won't be setting foot inside a Marriott anywhere for a very, very long time,...
Read moreThis Marriott did not live up to the Marriott reputation. While the staff was friendly and was agreeable to take care of issues, they weren't entirely taken care of. My first evening there I found a wasp in my room which I killed. In the middle of the night a spider was crawling on me I did kill it. These two items are not so much the hotels fault. The housekeeping left much to be desired. My coffee and cups were not replenished. The lotion wasn't replenished and in Colorado you really need to have lotion. I set my dirty glasses on a plate easy for cleanup which they took but then didn't replace. Then when the glasses were replaced they only replaced two of them and one of them was dirty with some kind of greasy milky substance at the bottom. The absolute worst was waking up Saturday morning to find that I had no coffee and no cups. Then when I went downstairs they told me I could wait until Starbucks opened at 5:30. When I let them know I really needed coffee sooner than that they did hand me replacement coffee pods for the coffee pot in the room. Thankful about that but wasn't very excited about coming down stairs before I was completely awake. One of the nights of football team stayed at the hotel and they continued to open and close doors loudly and holler for a couple of hours. I called to the front desk and asked if they could investigate the hallway and they said they would, however it was still very loud so I'm not sure if they checked it out or not. I finally turned on a thunderstorm to try and drown out the noise. On the upside it was nice that Netflix was available and I could login to my account to watch TV when I wanted to relax and watch TV. One of the people in our group said they found a half-eaten sandwich in their fridge. My other friend did not get replacement towels. I'm wondering if maybe they're just needs to be some more training with the staff on what is typical for the Marriott. Like I said they were friendly just didn't take care of adequate replacement of...
