Definitely some room for improvement, but we will go back and try again. Our server was amazing. She was super friendly, attentive, and apologetic when the food didn't come out as expected. The drinks were very good, not too sweet, which I really appreciate. I would say they are a little overpriced, but I'll take it for a good cocktail. The menu is a bit overwhelming and hard to interpret. We ordered the Queso Botana and Ribeye Chicharron to share for apps. The queso came out hot and bubbly, with blue corn chips, and while basic, was very tasty and we all enjoyed it. Our server kept apologizing for the chicharron taking a long time, which we didn't mind. When it finally arrived, it was definitely not what we expected. Just a bowl of ingredients, nothing to really eat it with. The "chicharrons" seemed to be just overcooked pieces of rib eye, not crunchy or fatty. The accompaniments were not that great. Overall, this was the worst dish. For mains, I ordered the Arrachera, my husband got the Culichi Enchiladas and 2 fried fish tacos, our friends ordered the Molcajete Fajitas, Tacos Dorado, and a grilled fish taco. My entree and the tacos Dorado came out first. We waited about 10 min before the other entrees arrived, as well as my tortillas. So our food got cold while we were waiting. Overall, the entrees were pretty good, but the pacing on bringing out the food is seriously off. The tortillas were okay hot, but not so great once they cooled off. I asked for a mix of corn and flour tortillas and only got flour. The fried fish tacos needed salt and were pretty ordinary. My friends loved their dishes- the chicken in the fajitas had a nice flavor, and there was a ton of food in the molcajete. The tacos dorado and the enchiladas were beautifully presented. We will definitely try this restaurant again, based on the service, and some of the food. I really hope they can get the pacing right on bringing out all entrees and accompaniment at...
Read moreUPDATE: I went with a couple of friends for dinner. We were seated and had to wait little bit before our waiter got to our table. We each ordered a flight of margaritas with each ordering different flavors so we would get a good variety. We had nine different flavors and none of them were pleasant. The habanero and jalapeno flavors had no spicy flavor at all. We didn't enjoy any of the flavors we had. We also ordered the queso for our appetizer. It was good. Our table was full with the three flights of margaritas and the queso. They were all delivered on a board which made it difficult to place all these items on the table. We each ordered a meal. The food was good but nothing spectacular. The prices are VERY EXPENSIVE. I guess placing sprouts and radishes on top of the food justifies the higher price? We did not receive our food together. two of us got our food and the third person about 5 minutes later. We had a middle aged woman that kept coming to our table asking to remove glasses and dishes form our table. It was very annoying as we were taking our time and talking while we were still eating and drinking. We decided to order dessert. We ordered three different desserts, the churros (good) the prickly pear cheesecake (awful) and the flower pot (good but only available on a limited basis). We each received are desserts at different times. Again, very annoying!!! I have never been to a restaurant where the people ta the same table receive food at different time. I still don't recommend this place. We each spent about $65.00 each(before tip) for our flight of margaritas, 1/3 of the queso appetizer, main course and dessert. If I'm spending $65.00 I want better food and much better service. Fort Collins has so many local Mexican restaurants that serve better food and have much better service. Try Los Chingones, Mas Fuegos, Cancun, Tres Margaritas, Inca for great food drinks...
Read moreAfter reading the reviews, I had high hopes for our dinner. We were there a couple of nights ago. First, they brought out little shots of soup that were complementary. The soup was not hot. It was barely lukewarm, and kind of tasted like Campbell’s vegetable soup.
Our waiter was delightful but had too many tables, so the service was not what it could have been if they were better staffed.
They don’t have printed menus. You have to use a QR code and see their large menu on your small phone.
We ordered the traditional poblano relleno. We also asked the waiter what his favorite dish was, and he recommended enchiladas with carnitas, so we ordered that. The poblano was not hot…. It was barely warm. Unfortunately, our waiter did not come by to check on how our food was, so we couldn’t send it back to get it heated. The flavors of both dishes were good, but it would’ve been nice if the poblano was hot.
When our waiter brought our food, I thought it would go well with a beer, so I ordered a bottle of beer. Unfortunately, it didn’t come until we had finished our meals.
When I got home, I looked at my receipt. I found that I had been overcharged for both my beer and for the enchiladas. It was my bad for not checking it more carefully in the restaurant.
I called and talked to the manager and told him about our experience. He offered to refund the overcharge, but I told him I was not calling to get anything, I just wanted him to be aware of it. He certainly didn’t seem overly concerned about anything I told him. I realize it’s a new restaurant, and they probably have some kinks to work out, but it was a disappointing experience.
Paying $60 for dinner for two, I would have expected hot food and...
