Stayed here with family from Dec 24 (check-in) till Dec 31 (check-out) 2023. We would have liked to give a 5-star review to this property except the cons which caused us real inconvenience and need to be addressed when it comes to hosting families at this hotel
Pros: (1) Bill, Stephanie, Fidel seemed really nice and capable caretakers, property managers (2) 10-15mins driving distance from Las Olas and A1A intersection which seemed like the main area of attraction (3) Spacious rooms with partially equipped kitchenette (toaster, microwave, small fridge, dishes, cutlery) (4) Free street side parking (5) Great pool and hot tub (6) Coin operated Washer/Dryer available which was a huge plus to ensure beach clothes dry, otherwise just hang-drying them does NOT work due to such high humidity
Cons: (1) We had a roach & a mice issue in the room we were initially allotted for 3-nights (Room#112), then were switched to another room upstairs (#212), but even the new room was right next to the cleaning supplies and each morning there used to be loud noise of the cleaning-cart getting pulled-out. The roach and mice issue for the first 3-nights was gross and very embarrassing as we had our family come see us at the hotel one evening and while we were having pizza, a couple of roaches climbed out of the AC unit. We were given a 20% discount on the total price for our inconvenience which was lower than the cost we paid for renting the mice/roach infested room for the 4-days/3-nights (Dec 24 to 27), so we felt unfairly compensated for it. Bill Migliano, the property manager seemed sympathetic with our inconvenience but it looked like his hands were tied (2) Poor wifi internet service (2.2 Mbps max), so international travellers from Canada, Europe should be aware that they may not be able to depend on it for voice/data and would instead need to use your own expensive roaming data plan (3) It's not a non-smoking property, so families with kids should be aware of this. We had a neighbor who was chain smoking one day and we were unable to sit outside...
Read moreJust left from a lovely 4 night stay - 2 adults and a toddler in a double queen room. Really friendly and helpful staff, especially the manager. Reception open from 9am-6pm but there are room key lockers if you check in after hours and an emergency phone number if any issues. Breakfast items and snacks available to buy in the reception but we didn’t need to as grocery shops nearby and kitchenette well stocked to prepare food. The hotel has sister hotels by the beach but we chose this one as we liked the location - safe young feeling neighbourhood with plenty of great restaurants just a few minutes walk from the hotel (and a very nice ice cream shop). Plus free car parking here, unlike the city centre hotels. ||Great relaxed vibe in the hotel grounds with loads of places to sit/sunbathe. Heated pool and a jacuzzi (didn’t think I’d want to be on one in the Florida heat but it was actually very relaxing!). Pool towels provided. Lots of friendly lizards in the grounds and even spotted an iguana! Very few insects in the hotel room considering the lovely landscaping and plants. Laundry costs $1.50 and dryer costs $1. ||Clean room, nicely decorated. No suites with separate rooms for the kids but the room was very spacious. Effective quiet air con. Very well equipped kitchenette - washing up liquid/sponge/dish towel, drip coffee machine, toaster, all the crockery and cutlery you need, including sharp knife and corkscrew. Good sized fridge (no freezer compartment in our room). Table and chairs outside each room. Wi-Fi not brilliant but this may be as our room was away from the reception as I see previous reviews say the Wi-Fi was great. ||Info if you’re travelling with kids:|- The pool isn’t gated off but there are high up security latches on the hotel room doors to keep the kids inside|- No opening windows in rooms|- LOADS of toys and floats free to use by the pool|- No bath but a big shower and the shower floor isn’t slippy|- Second floor balcony has Perspex covering the gaps in the railings ||We had a great stay and would...
Read moreI would call this a "boutique" hotel. From the outside, it appears very unassuming. However, the room was very clean and smelled fresh.
This hotel has a great location, with restaurants and shops within walking distance. It appeared to be a safe area also.
We flew into Ft. Lauderdale the day before our cruise started. I emailed the hotel after making our reservation to let them know we would arrive early. I understood that early check-in may not be available but asked if we could leave our bags in the office until we checked in. I quickly received a response from Billy and he told me they would be happy to store our bags.
We got to the hotel around 10:00AM. Much to my surprise, Billy had 2 rooms ready for us!
There is a small, but adequate pool in the courtyard, along with a hot tube.
The property is secured by a gated fence around it. Entry into the property is obtained by coded lock on the gates.
Something I found a little odd, but not really a reason to downgrade my rating. There was no phone or alarm clock in our room.
The front desk is only manned from 9:00AM to 6:00PM.
Now, a little about Billy.
I assume he is the GM, and mans the front desk.
During our stay, the screw in my eye glasses fell out and was lost. So, the lense popped out. I checked with Billy to see where I could get a repair kit nearby. He told me not to worry, as he had the small screwdriver at his house and would bring it in the next morning.
The following morning, Billy brought his screwdriver and a pair of glasses a guest had left behind some time ago. He removed the screw and put it in my frame to secure my lense. This was incredible service from Billy.
Note to management: I suggest you change your cable channel lineup card in the rooms. The card was useless, as many of the channels listed were unavailable.
Our next trip to Ft. Lauderdale we will return to The...
