Heart Rock Sushi and thai — Restaurant in Fort Lauderdale

First time to visit Heart Rock....definitely will go back for all of the right reasons!! I went for a VERY late night meal with my son; after seeing Messi at the arena score the WINNING goal! ;) We were greeted like true guests; as though they had just opened the doors for the day! (I was anxious about going in so late and near closing time!) The ambience is also truly welcoming! A very relaxing vibe. We were both very comfortable. The food was fresh and cooked perfectly!! We enjoyed the Tom Yum Soup...the shrimps were just the right texture...Not an easy soup ingredient to say that about! Danny (our server) suggested their chili oil as just the right addition and he nailed it!! They make it in house and you can taste that love! Calamari was also cooked perfectly! Very unique panko textured crust..I loved it! Next the Basil stir fry with ground chicken....and of course, the sunny side up egg addition to 'top' it off! Simple ingredients cooked perfectly with love are exactly what I look for!! I cannot wait to go back!!

p.S. I'm hopeful that the entire staff is delightful, but I will definitely ask for Danny. He clearly loves people and has a wonderful sense of humor. Thank you Danny...

I will give this establishment a negative star if possible - I actually frequented this restaurant two-three times a week, as well as, order for pick up multiple times a month for large orders for my office and when have friends are in town - location/convenience. At best it is a minimal sushi restaurant - food is always overcooked and sushi not fresh - clearly not the best - good for simple quick - nothing over the top - - -however, sometimes location overrides. However, this will no longer be the case. I ordered the salmon - overcooked - at best tasted like a shoe - i requested for it to be changed and offered to pay for it - nevertheless, didn't expect to cause seriously - was horrible and being a regular. They did bring me a new meal - yet told me to keep my old rice - just all wrong - bad business. The waitress - ever so kind - offered for me to take it home to my dog - SERIOUSLY MY DOG EATS BETTER THAN THAT - needless to say, I will not spend another dollar in this establishment and forward the sentiment to the locals I have since suggested it to. I've been to the Ft Laud location on and off for years. Today my husband picked up some take out sushimi for my lunch. I couldn't believe that they would sell, to the public, the fish I got. Honest, the white tuna was so tough and chewy it would have been impossible to eat, even if I actually attempted to. The other two varieties weren't too much better either. This was very dissapointing to me because I've had decent experiences in the past. It's true that any given restaurant can have a bad day, but it's beyond me how they could have felt okay about serving that fish. It was that bad and really surprising for an establishment that you just wouldn't expect this from. I'll never go back. Oh, and because I don't believe in leaving negetive reviews without first discussing with the business associates themselves, I attempted to call HRS several times but no one was available to speak to me.
