I would skip this Residence Inn next time. Although I don't travel as much anymore, I almost always exclusively stay at Marriott properties and have Lifetime Gold status. My app offered check in a few days before and I did request an extra blanket, some pillows and an early check in. I realize that an early check in of 1pm is never guaranteed and it depends on rooms being available upon arrival. The lady at the desk was beyond rude when we showed up at 1pm to see if a room was available. She laughed and said nothing was available. Ok, fine, I mentioned we had just returned from a cruise and had driven over to Fort Myers so would it be possible to get a card to access the pool while we waited for our room? She said "we don't do that here". ||I have ALWAYS been able to access a hotel's facilities while waiting on a room. She told us to go through the door, use the pool and if we needed back in, to knock on the door. I tried to give her my ID and credit card so she could start to process me even though the room wasn't ready as this is what I have always done and I am usually told they will contact me once my room is ready. Nope, not here. I wasn't told I would be contacted, I wasn't thanked for my loyalty to the brand, and I wasn't even given an estimate. Nothing. ||Our room was ready at 3pm and there were several people in the lobby complaining saying that check in time was 3pm and why was their room not ready? Lots of unimpressed people. We finally got to our room which was clean and nicely decorated, but there was no extra blanket or pillows as requested.||Breakfast the next morning was decent and area was clean, although there was pieces of chewed up pizza left in the elevator from the night before on the floor which was gross. The elevator was also on it's last legs and I was convinced it was about to break down at any minute.||I asked for a late check out because of our flight time and at first she wasn't happy about it but the other gentleman looked at my file and saw I was guaranteed late check out because of my status so she begrudgingly gave it to me, but she wasn't happy about it. ||There were several other hotels in the area that were lower priced or even other Marriott brands that I would try next time. While the hotel itself was decent, I have never experienced such poor service from a Marriott hotel before and...
Read moreAfter staying for 3 nights with no issues, we tried to extend our room for another night. First we were lied to and told that the system was down and the manager would contact us regarding extending. We knew we were being lied to because we went back to our room and called the front to ask to book a room and they were all ready to book one not realizing it was us they just spoke to downstairs.
The manager waited until almost check out time to call and inform us with the most unpleasant, disrespectful, nasty attitude that we had to leave because they don’t accept locals.
We explained that we’ve been there several days already & presented identification upon arrival that clearly showed our local addresses.
Regardless if this was their policy or not, they didn’t address it with us when we arrived and clearly let it go for multiple days before choosing to be nasty about it on the 4th day so why treat us poorly and refuse us service after they let it happen for so long? Not to mention they refused to show us any policy that stated that they don’t allow locals and they weren’t hassling the other guests that were staying there local as well (we know 2 other guests who are currently staying there.)
The manager continued to be unpleasant and called our room exactly 1 minute past check out to remind us to leave but because we were planning on staying again before this whole mess we were actually in the middle of doing laundry and had to leave with wet clothes.
At the end of the day I feel like it was bullsh*t . Even with giving them the benefit of the doubt and that really is their policy why not just honor our stay this time since it was their mistake for letting it happen in the first place and just notify us that once we check out it can’t happen again in the future? It seem like the more professional and logical route rather than treating the guests bad because of their own mistake.
But I will end with this, Becky on the night shift is an absolute angel, the best at her job, and likely the best...
Read moreI was on a work deployment. I found the staff made my visit feel like I was home. I was on an early shift in the beginning and missed breakfast. Later in my stay my work shift changed and I was able to enjoy breakfast. I found Manny very helpful and friendly. A team of baseball players came in but Manny was able to keep everyone happy and enough food for all. Manny helped me with directions and things to do around town. Christy at the desk was like having a sister. She always welcomed us and always had a smile for us. We asked the desk staff to keep a couple of notebooks used for the team at the desk for us. It made it easy for us to locate the books and everyone on the team found it easy to access the information needed. Your front desk staff was always happy to help us with the notebooks and any other needs. The housekeeping ladies took good care of us and always were friendly and kept us in all the towels etc. that we needed. One housekeeper, the nicest lady in the world, do not recall her name, African American, very small frame, older, always so nice! When our team was working the early morning and we left the motel during the time of the night shift desk clerk, she was always friendly and started our day with a smile. Coffee was always available even when we had to leave very early. The pool was clean and very nice, the socials were a great way for our team to review the tasks of the day and unwind. The lady in charge of the socials was very gracious and helpful. We looked forward to the socials and her great cooking! Thank-you for your greats staff making our work trip...
