I had a great 3 night stay at the Travelodge in Ft. Scott, Kansas. I was in town for my family reunion and I chose this hotel due to location, price and amenities. Parking lot is well-lit and close to front door of the hotel. I felt very secure parking my vehicle overnight. They offer a pool, but I did not use it during my visit.|My queen room was spacious and air conditioning ran perfectly keeping the room very comfortable during my stay. The fan masked most noise from outside. Upon check-in, I noted train whistle noise and asked for a room on the front side of the building. This was a great decision since I heard very little noise from the road out front and I slept very well. The bed was very comfortable, linens were good quality and there were 3 pillows provided on my queen-sized bed. |The bathroom was updated with nice textured tile, fresh bath enclosure and good showerhead with enough water pressure and hot water to get a good shower. Towels were nice, soap and shampoo were provided. The room had a refrigerator and microwave and I used them for snacks and breakfast food. This hotel nightly rate does not include breakfast, but there is a small cafe on site that offers cooked to order food choices 24h a day. I did not order any food, but I felt this was a great option for travelers. There is a Mexican restaurant next door, just a few steps walk from the hotel parking lot and it serves good food. US 69 highway has numerous fast food options all within a mile of the hotel and downtown on National there are some nice independent diners and pubs with outside seating. I noted a sign in the lobby that Uber is available in Ft. Scott, so that opens up many delivery and transportation options for travelers. A Walmart sits across the intersection from the hotel, so that was super convenient for me. I purchased a few groceries and had snack food for my entire visit. Ice was available just off the lobby. |My overall experience at the Ft. Scott Travelodge was excellent. I slept exceedingly well and felt this hotel was great value for money. The location was perfect for my needs, and I will plan to stay here again when I am back in town. Thanks to the Travelodge staff for making this a very restful &...

Read moreUpon check in to room 3XX we were directed to the end of the hall with armloads of luggage. Only to find out later that there was indeed a working elevator. When booking we were choosing a location with a pool & about 730pm we headed down to said pool. Passing the front desk & its clerk along the way. Once there we find a cute & clean pool on the otherside of a locked door. When we went back to the front desk we were told they close it 8 which contradicted both posted signs. We were then told it would reopen at 8am. So we went back up, got redressed, & went out for dinner. We arrived back at the hotel about 920pm where fire alarms were blaring. On our way in we saw other patrons looking out of rooms & down halls. We only happened to overhear a conversation with the desk clerk & a man on the ground floor. He said he had only been showering. The alarms were turned off & we continued on to our own room. The door next to us opened & an elderly lady asked if all was safe. Before going to bed I found cockroaches in the bathroom. We had a wakeup call in the morning by way of another fire alarm at 830am. So we got up only to find no coffee pot in the room & only last night's coffee downstairs. Since we were down there we inquired again about the pool to make sure we didn't make a trip down there again for more disappointment. Well we would have been, we were told it opened at 11am coincidentally checkout time. At least the beds were comfortable & the...
