The young lady that checked us in was very helpful and polite. But from there, it all went downhill. Any other staff we had to converse with were rude. Our room was dark and cramped. When I made reservations, I made them for two queen size beds, four adults, non-smoking. The beds certainly did not seem like queen size. The plus side was that the beds were fairly comfortable. The bathroom was a good size, compared to the room. It was dark because one of the three light bulbs was blown. That was not corrected the entire time we were there. You could tell they had done maintenance around the tub and shower head. It looked as if a blind man had done the maintenance work. It was dirty and we saw a couple of bugs in the bathroom during our stay. We found out that they had us registered for only two adults. I’m not sure why, because my conformation email says four adults. This really made a difference in the number of towels and washcloths housekeeping left each day. On Tuesday, one of us walked up to the front desk and asked for a couple of towels and washcloths because there were only three in the room. The lady gave us two towels but no washcloths. So another one of us walked back to the front desk and asked for washcloths. The lady at the desk hatefully said “I just gave y’all towels!” To which we replied, “towels are to dry with, you need washcloths to wash with.” We tried walking up to the front desk on Thursday night sometime between 9:00 & 10:00 to get extra washcloths, because housekeeping had only left two, but found the door leading from the hallway to the front desk was locked. So we went back to our room and called the front desk asking for washcloths. We were told they couldn’t get any until in the morning when housekeeping got there. Thursday night as we were all settling into bed, we began smelling something. At first it was like a gas smell. As it got stronger, it was more of a chemical smell. We opened the door to the hallway several times and it was really strong in the hallway. Someone had opened the window at the end of the hallway. We were the second room from the end of the hallway close to the door, window, and stairwell. The smell was either coming from the last room next to us or the stairwell; it was so strong, we couldn’t determine which. Concerning the security/safety of this hotel: the end door, close to where our room was had a sign stating that it stayed locked at all times and you had to use the room key the get in. This was not the case. No matter what time we came in, that door was never locked. There was a security camera in the corner at that door that looked as if the wires had been pulled out of the ceiling and had been taped back together with black electrical tape. Thursday night, the window at the end of the hallway stayed open all night. The security latch on our room’s door was broken both on at door and on the frame. When checking out, I went to the front desk in order to turn in my keys and get my receipt. I had to ring the bell in order to get someone to the desk. She came to the desk and immediately picked up the ringing phone. As she was having a personal conversation on the phone, she was trying to take care of me. I felt like I was interrupting her phone call. I asked her for a receipt. Then I asked her for a comment card. She said they were in the room (which it was not). Overall, I would never stay in this hotel again. Between the rude staff, uncleanliness, lack of security, and the creepy guy that stood right outside the end door smoking constantly to where we had to walk through the smoke, this is not a hotel I would...
Read moreDON'T COME HERE. I'm assuming this place is family run, and a man and woman sleep in the receptionist area of the hotel. All day there was a man running the front desk, from 3-10 pm, after which they close down the entire front desk area. So around 3 am I had to run down stair to let my uncle into the building, because they close the front office down and lock all the doors going in and out except the door to the outside and the first entrance way, where there is a small window and a doorbell, they use key card entrances to the side door and for whatever reason my uncles had been disabled. So running down to open the door I accidentally ended up locked us out of our room. I was aware they closed down everything at 10, but assumed nobody was here. I attempted to call the customer care line and had no luck, so I proceeded to call a lock smith, seeing that I had no where to go and no other option. Waiting for him to arrive we walk down to the front, I hold a side door open while my uncle enters the front of the building into the first entrance where we learned about the doorbell for the first time. He rang and a woman, who I had not seen once working in this hotel, came out to the glass window. She seemed to had just woken up and when he told her our situation she basically told him without my ID, that was locked in our room, we could not have another key. She was not polite from the beginning of the conversation and wasn't really worried about our situation at all, although we are paying guest of their hotel, she was not willing to help him. He came and told me so I went to speak to her, I told her all I had was a picture of my ID, which she began to refuse, so I claimed if she was going to refuse us a key we were going to get into the room ourselves, since I'd already called a lock smith, and pack our things and be refunded all of our money. I couldn't completely understand what she was saying as she started to walk out of my view, besides saying then I have to leave and she was going to call somebody, so I yelled "I have a picture of my ID" once again. She got on the phone and made her call then asked my name, looked at the roster and asked to see the picture. She remained on the phone as she proceeded to give me a key and tell me that I had to leave in the morning, and they would refund me for everything but the night. I didn't even ask any question I just left with the key because I was already frustrated. I have now done my research to see the total of this room for the night is going to be around 90 dollars. I spent came to this hotel and paid 402 dollars for a week because I had just enough to afford it, being left with 10 dollars. Now I am seemingly going to be kicked out for claiming we will get into our room another way, by using the lock smith, and retrieving our belongings. It seems to me that at first she said I had to leave, then once she checked my name seeing I had paid for the week, she claimed I would need to leave in the morning, therefore the room would be paid for, for the night, since she couldn't kick me out without refund of my whole week, she changed when I had to go therefore they would still get paid something. Now I will not be able to afford another week somewhere else, because she decided I could stay the full night to pay them almost...
Read more1 star for the location because it's not easily visble to find, you have to drive downhill, and it is near a very busy railroad track. The hotel itself gets 2 stars due to the cleanliness of the rooms upon arrival, the size, and the housekeeping service, BUT when it comes to the front desk staff and how they chooose to speak and act towards their customers, this is where your problems lie. I had an extended stay at this hotel and from my experiences with them and watching how they interact with other guests, they are an family from India who are unkind, uncaring, rude, and are unwilling to help right away without brushing ppl away with an attitude. Besides this, they will even lie to their advantage in an unfair manner to the guests; whatever serves in their best interest. I witnessed this personally from other guests and then unfortunately it happened to me. I dealt with their unkind treatment at the front desk for as long as I did due to affordability but one day I was using my electric pan which got real smokey and the hotel staff came to my room and asked me to leave because of the smoke. After I explained and showed that is was my pan that caught smoke and showed them, I was asked to open the windows which I did. Then a few minutes later I was told that they no longer wanted me there and that they were calling the police. I was shocked because I had been a guest for over a month but that's when the staffer revealed to me that I wasn't helping them out and was making them lose money because of the way I was booking. Instead of me booking directly with them and paying a weekly flat rate, I was exercising my power as a Redroof member and getting discounted rates that varied and were cheaper, and I was gaining points, giving me free nights and I could use points for discounted rates. They did not like this and said I was making them lose money this was and I wasn't doing them any favors. The truth is they just want to live off of as many people's money that they can upstairs, ignorant to the fact that they can pay cheaper rates. They barely want to do their jobs. My smokey pan put the icing on the cake to have me put out. I called Redroof to file a complaint of this unfair treatment and the front desk staff LIED and said that I was smoking in a non-smoking room. Overeall, you will get your money's worth for the room but beware of the attitudes and their unfriendly & unprofessional mannerism when doing business with them. They are lazy and dont want to work too hard, they just want your money. They also have no pool. Last month they filled it with dirt and plants, and no landline for you to make phone calls if your phone loses service. You can only...
