I took my wife for breakfast this morning and our food was great and the service (J) fantastic. Everything went very well until I proceeded to pay our tab, the young man at the counter was processing my order when I told him what I'd like to tip our server, I wanted to round it up to the next close $10 increment. He then tells me it wouldn't be what I'd expect because there is a surcharge if I were to use my debit card. I asked for a manager and a woman by the name of Patty approached and immediately was combative and argumentative with me over my disagreement about having to pay the surcharge. I tell her that it is illegal in the state of Texas to charge such a fee, she tells me we have lawyers and law enforcement who visit regularly and do not object to the fee. I'm very sure they are not aware of this fee. Texas Business and Commerce Code 604A.002 explicitly states that any such fee is in fact illegal. No business in the state of Texas has the right to charge an additional fee to any client that chooses to use their debit card to purchase their services. Patty was very ugly and rude to my while I tried to explain this to her and told me that there is nothing she can do about the fee, as a manager of the restaurant she is capable of removing this illegal fee from my bill and if she is not then how is she even a manager? I was very polite trying to express my stance and this woman only wanted to be ugly and argumentative with me, if she is unable to resolve any situation the arises in her role as a restaurant manger with calm and compassionate demeanor she absolutely has not business in this particular role. In another note as I was having this conversation another young lady possibly a server decided she would express herself and tell me that the surcharge fee isn't collected by the restaurant but by the credit company, either way the conversation did not include her and she wasn't asked of her ideas, for her to chime in was only to reinforce the ignorance of her manager and the restaurant owner. Now I will continue to visit this restaurant and evry time I do I will refuse to pay any such surcharge, I have a right to refuse and your restaurant does not have any authority to implement such a charge. Thank you Patty for making my day difficult and I hope you have a...
Read moreI'd like to say this restaurant is a great place to eat let's get that straight but today it was a very bad experience and the lack of The interest in helping the customer to deal with a personal situation and the uneasiness of Going Out and trying work through issues with PTSD I was denied the simplest accommodations to eat at your restaurant today Simply because they want to close more than 3/4 of your restaurant at around 7:pm and put everybody on the East Side of the building this is supposed to be an establishment where you can come and eat and enjoy your meal and not be pretty much clustered all together and be surrounded by other people's conversations laughter babies crying and all that but because it putting you basically all sitting at 1 table in the smallest part of the restaurant And like I said I let the staff know I drove here over 20 minutes plus and I still did not Receive accommodations to let me sit at the table I felt more comfortable at I do not know if they understand that PTSD is a considered form of a disability and mild mental issue it is caused by dramatic incident in a person's life everybody's differenti in why their diagnosis but it turns out thar all people are similar to the point that it's hard to deal with people at a close proximity and also unknown people so close but it is a manageable conditions if the people are willing to work with you which today they were not I don't understand again how you close 3/4 of your restaurant or more and then a situation like this arises and you can't compromise for 1 person to let the person sit at 1 table Where they feel comfortable at??? And the excuse that was given was that tomorrow they're coming to fix that part of the Dining room it makes you feel like is the...
Read moreI met family and friends there for lunch on Aug 15th,2025. Ordered the chicken fried chicken. It was horrible and I couldn't eat it. I thought it had freezer burn but both the waitress and manager insisted that couldn't be possible. It was literally like biting into rubber. The waitress offered me a piece of cake, which I politely declined. If you've ever bitten into bad food, you kind of lose your appetite. The manager insisted that I was making it up, that they couldn't possibly have given me a bad piece of chicken from the kitchen since "It's all made fresh daily".
Regardless, the manager walked away without any customer service skills. I paid for the food that I didn't & couldn't eat. It just would have been nice if the manager was more professional and just taken ownership and voided my meal since I paid the tab for the others at my table. Oh and then the cashier asked me if I still wanted to leave a tip....
I realize things happen. You do get bad batches. I was polite and just thought the waitress and manager should know that they served a bad plate. This wasn't my first trip to the cafe, and I was the one recommending that we all meet there for lunch.... Live and Learn...
After I posted this, I read some other reviews... Honestly, managements responses look like they are written to patronize anyone that writes an honest bad review with really no action on behalf of the management team to correct the situation.
Could it be that they have someone just spitting out social media...
