Stayed here a week and was very disappointed. Here’s why:
I am allergic to down, it is on my Hilton profile and I mention it under “instructions” every time I book a room. I got to the room, exhausted after 22 hours of travel laid down on the bed for 5 minutes and my head slowly progressed to being covered in hives.
I booked a 1 bedroom suite with a king bed. The day of arrival there weren’t any of king bed rooms available so I had to pay an extra 20 a night and go with a “2 queen bed” room. Both of the beds were wildly uncomfortable. I wish that was the worst thing, but no.
There were holes in the drywall and stains on the carpet visible the moment I walked in the room.
There was no collar on the garbage disposal and I could see the disposal mechanism and the food and rust there when I went to the sink. If a person wanted to run the disposal they would have to put something there to stop the food from flying out like a plate or something. There were sink flies in the kitchen; undoubtedly from the neglected sink.
There wasn’t a toilet paper holder. There was a hole in the wall and the arms but the actual holder that goes in the toilet paper tube wasn’t there, so they were just sticking the toilet paper in the hole in the wall. I understand that people may abuse and break these, but find another type of holder - don’t just leave it broken.
There were black marks on the wall and ceiling where the a/c vents were. Could have been dust, could have been mold. I wasn’t brave enough to find out.
Every morning I dried water off the shelves of the refrigerator. Every afternoon it was back. It was a constant battle.
The hotel provides dispenser mounted bottles of body wash, shampoo and conditioner in the shower. I’m not sure what was in the shampoo bottle, but it wasn’t shampoo. The conditioner bottle was empty but after the shampoo issue I wouldn’t have trusted it anyway. I bought my own.
There was a large hole in the bedroom window screen, possibly from someone smoking and holding their smoke out the window? But given that it was 4 floors up in a family suite you would think this would be repaired asap. Maybe that’s just me.
The breakfast was fine - the usual things found at free breakfasts, sans bacon. The staff was friendly and tried to be helpful.
I was going to discuss these things with the clerk but when I went to check out the morning of my departure the person at the front desk was sleeping in his chair.
I used to trust that any Hilton hotel would be up to par and at the very least clean and well maintained. Unfortunately, this trip changed that for me. I hope this hotel can budget in some maintenance and update their rooms. It’s a great location, but as is such a...
Read moreWe arrived Saturday at 6 after driving down from Wyoming for the Kaleo concert. We are a party of six and had reserved the room 3 MONTHS prior. The room was the two bedroom, two bathroom for 600$. We checked in and were greeted by a large pile of filthy laundry and trash at the entrance to our room. We didn't know if the room was finished being clean so went back down to the desk. The man working the desk was dismissive and said it would be cleaned by some janitor or something. We stood down the hallway waiting, exhausted and hot, no one showed. Went back downstairs to talk to the front desk again and he came up and cleaned it. He told us the room was fine and we honestly were so grossed out and disappointed with the initial start. We finally went in a half hour after standing in the hallway and the room was not fine, it was gross. The beds and towels were clean and that was it. The tables had ketchup and food on them, the chair in the main room was absolutely trash, stains and rips. We tried to cover it with a sheet from the extra linens in the closet and those were dirty. Other than the dirty chair and couch in the main room there was no extra furniture. No tables, etc. .. We kept going back down to the front desk, bringing the dirty laundry, receiving new laundry, it could have been comical but long trip, children and exhaustion do not mix well. The man was apologetic and truly did try his best once he realized that we were not over reacting and all of this stuff was blocking the entrance to our room and the room was disgusting. We couldn't have another because it was the only 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom available. We went out and bought cleaning supplies and cleaned it ourselves at 8 o'clock, also the front desk took the nasty chair out of the room. The air conditioning in the main room works exceptionally well but not so much in the bedrooms, No big deal, they have fans except don't try to use 1 of them because its missing the fan blade completely. Ultimately, this is the very worst hotel we have ever stayed in and that is saying a lot. Oh, and managers do not work on the weekend. Super weak. Enjoy the cleaning supplies, maybe...
