3/4/23 I was finally reimbursed! After sharing the state law with them. This has ruined my entire outlook on this hotel. I had previously planned on returning to this hotel on a yearly basis but not anymore.
Update: 2/28/23 less than 2 weeks after checking out of the hotel and cooperating and working with hotel and house keeping management in regards to them replacing or reimbursing me for the item their staff threw away. Up until today I was told that reimbursement and replacement would be made except now apparently hotel management has changed their mind and rescinded their original offer to reimburse and replace the item.
Utah Code Title 29. Hotels and Hotel Keepers § 29-1-2
A person who is an innkeeper, hotel keeper, boarding house or lodging house keeper shall be liable for a loss of any of such property of a guest in the person's inn caused by the theft or negligence of the innkeeper or the innkeeper's servant.
Update: after checking out of the hotel I realized that I had left something behind. I contacted reception desk only to be told that if anything had been left that it was likely thrown away by housekeeping and there was nothing they could do. In all of our traveling I have never experienced such disrespect for my personal items. Not once has a hotel or restaurant ever thrown away something I had accidentally left behind.
Issues included that our room does not have any coat and gear holders near the door. So our things and gear are just tossed and strewn about. An entry bench is what is missing from this room (311). Second the windows leak so much cold air and the beds are positioned in the room right underneath the windows. So we had to find a way to tuck the curtains into the window sills to stop the cold air from leaking onto us while we slept. One of the windows is broken and keeps opening and closing with the wind.Lastly there is not a fireplaces or balcony in the room.light bulbs were burnt out and somehow we were never informed that housekeeping was something we had to specifically request.
The kitchen is a decent size and far larger than a lot of hotels and that is all that was nice about it. We travel a lot and overall this hotel is still larger than many ski in ski out places we have stayed. We are in the double queen with kitchen and it is very generously sized. We travel with our own ARB fridge and the fridge in the room is barely larger than a mini fridge so we arenāt really using it for much. The fridge in the room is extremely awkward to open. I HIGHLY recommend if you travel as frequently as we do then bring your travel kitchen utensils, dish drying mat, dishwashing gloves, dish towels, can opener, knives, scissors, pot holders and last but not least your own Tupperware. Do not expect to find groceries here there is nothing more than a extremely limited snack bar/store that they call a āgeneral storeā.
There arenāt any balconies or fireplaces...
Read moreMy sister and I enjoyed a great ski trip! Our parents came along just for the scenery! We had 2 rooms, one was ground level, with 2 queen size beds, we were able to go right out our door and ski to the shuttle to moonbeam, and ski right off one of the lifts (Easy street) back to our room. My parents room was on 2nd floor, nice king bed and a balcony. I did not use the heated outdoor pool(it didn't feel warm enough for me, since it was in the 20°'s outside, but the hot tub was great(except one end of it felt like a lot of sand/gravel on the bottom). Coffee by the front desk was good but not always available. The double queen room was large with a small refrigerator, table and 2 comfortable arm chairs, the beds were comfortable with 4 big fluffy pillows, a dresser to hold our clothes and a good size closet to hang coats and ski pants (also 2 robes hanging there for our use), just inside the door was a nice area to put our skis and boots. Breakfast was good but not included in the price of the room and I felt it was quite expensive considering what was offered, but was nice to have the convenience of having a hot meal before a day of skiing. There was a nice Library to relax in. Filtered water to fill bottles was a nice bonus. Shower was spacious but would have liked more water pressure, the towels were good size but not very soft. The Solitude village is nice, they have a fire pit in one area, a bar and a couple places to get dinner, food was good and Mike, our server at the bar was very friendly. Valet service was great. We were lucky enough to get snow while there. All in all it was a great trip and a great place to stay, I hope to go back again!...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOverall, a very pleasant stay (we were there in March 2022). Initially, we were concerned about our car being parked so far away from the inn, but the staff helped us unload/load with a golf cart, and the one-time valet service of $12 brought the car near the entrance whenever we needed it and cleared the windshield of ice and snow. Yes, the rooms are dated but they are very clean and well-maintained. It seemed odd that there are no microwaves in any of the rooms, but if you need one they'll bring it up to you. There are very few choices for bars and restaurants in the area and they all close down early in the evening. After four nights, it got a bit boring (and expensive) to keep revisiting them. We didn't bother with the breakfast buffet area by the lobby (it seemed way overpriced). If you bring food (like we did), keep in mind that the fridge is small. We stored our prepackaged frozen food on our balcony, but the next morning it was devoured by a very large raven š³. It's a very short walk to the ski lifts and free ski lockers were available downstairs. Hot tub and pool were very good. Keep in mind that if you choose a ski-slope/mountain view, you may hear snow plows clearing the area and backing up (beep, beep, beep) just before the...
