The honest review:
Our family has had a timeshare the week before Fathers Day. The crummy part about this particular week is that everything opens full swing the day after our time share is over. With that being said, there is hardly anything to do up here for kids and adults besides the pool. No restaurants or food is available at Iron Blosam. There is maybe one or two restaurants open closer towards the Cliff and that is it. The only thing to do as a singular person going up is either go to the pool, gym or hike. Sadly the full size bed in our unit is lumpy and needs to be replaced too.
The up side: -I went on a beautiful hike. -The water aerobics class was fun. -The staff was friendly. -My room was very clean and had all the cooking tools I needed. -They have rolling bins to transport your luggage to your room. -I was able to partake in amenities at the pool, hot tub and gym at both Iron Blosam and Cliff Spa. -The yoga classes are fun and well needed after hiking + beautiful views! -The weather was very nice! -Food and drink are delicious at the Cliff.
Recommend: If any of the higher up personnel read this, I hope you consider more outdoor games. There is a perfect space in the little meadow right next to the tennis courts that can be used for games. I recommend cornhole, bocce ball, outdoor jenga, mini golf, fire pit, or disc golf. Turn the space into a night time movie theatre! Although there is an advent calendar, please consider putting more on it throughout the entire week. I only spent the last half of the timeshare week (due to my own availability) there was virtually nothing to do. Have special guests come up and do classes in bead making, wellness, essential oils, maybe a cool art/clay project, rock climbing, designing or painting mugs/plates/vases, more live bands. Maybe even throw out more farmers markets or food trucks, car shows up here? (The weather was so nice!) It would be great to see what the advent calendar looks like online ahead of time so when we are planning our time.
I signed up for a hike Friday morning before Fathers Day. Max was the employee who led the hike. Definitely ask for him! He is so nice and knowledgeable about nature and the pathway of the hike. We went up to a little reservoir. He enjoys what he does and was very helpful on the trails. Highly recommend...
Read moreMy wife's family has a time share here at the Iron Blossom so we come every year in January. The lodge is big and has a beautiful inside. The rooms vary in size and some even come with two levels. I would recommend looking at their website to find out more about the rooms and prices. The lodge is very close to the Snowbird ski resort. The Snowbird center is about a 10-15 minute walk from the lodge. The staff keeps the walkways as clear as possible but often times they still are icy so make sure you bring some shoes with traction. Parking at the lodge is nice because it is close to the lodge and they even have a little drop off right next to the entrance where you can unload your things onto carts and dollies and take them up to your room. You can also have the lodge staff help you load/unload your things and take them up to your room, just make sure you tip them. The lodge can also provide you with a personal shuttle to take you to the Snowbird center or Creekside, again make sure you tip these guys. I would also recommend that you bring a car that has all wheel drive or 4 wheel drive, the parking lot can sometimes get a foot of snow overnight if not more. It's nice to have a car with that option. The lodge also offers some amenities like a gym room, outdoor heated pool, indoor hot tub, and steam room. These are very popular in the evening after a long day on the slopes. The lodge also has a restaurant and bar. It also has an ATM if you need that. It has massage services available as well. All in all this is a great place to stay. It's always nice to be able to just walk back to your room and chill after skiing instead of having to drive down a canyon after a long...
Read moreDO NOT STAY HERE! Unless you're fine with paying more money for a mountain view room with a balcony, but after checking in, being put in a room with a sidewalk in front of your window/"balcony door", watching people walk by on their way to the pool that you're staring at. Not much of a "mountain view", with an elevated fenced in pool in front of you. Not to mention, it wasn't even the same type of room I booked a month earlier through their website! Told the front desk, to see if there was a mix up and to change rooms to the one I paid for, they said no, I was stuck on the "family level". Room wasn't cleaned very well, considering there was a used Q-tip on the bathroom floor along with long dark hair that clearly wasn't mine, blood stain on a pillowcase that appeared that maybe the person before just put back in the closet where you get your pillows from, (so my guess is housekeeping doesn't change those pillowcases), and to top it off, a blood smear on the wall next to the fridge! When checking out the front desk asked if I enjoyed my stay, told her no and the reasons why, only for her to tell me I was wrong, that the room I stayed in, was the room I booked! Sorry, $240 for one night on the "family level" would not be my first choice on how I want to spend a Saturday night. I'm sure Snowbird doesn't care how their hotel guests are treated since they're making plenty of money off of them during events and the season, but highly disappointed not even a discount was offered....
