I did not have the best experience with customer service at the Wildflower.
I entered the restaurant with a group of seven. The waiter told us that in groups of six or more, the check could only be split four ways. In order to avoid this difficulty, I and one other person left the table and sat with a smaller group (whom we knew).
The waitress took our order. The service was very slow; a large party was "blocking" the kitchen with a number of orders. The waitress came to the table and offered two free desserts (for six people) as "compensation".
More time went by. The waitress returned to the table and informed two of us that the large party had consumed all of the type of entree that we had ordered. At this point, we'd been waiting for an hour. The waitress insisted that we had not been waiting this long. We'd arrived at 6:00 PM and it was 7:10 PM. We were not pleased that she was becoming defensive over our wait time. We certainly knew how long we'd been there.
We placed alternate orders. The waitress returned to the table a few minutes later and said that she would discount one person's alternate order, but not mine. I offered to order a larger (more expensive) entree if she would discount it as well. She refused, and I was left with my "undiscounted" alternate order. She said that the restaurant was busy and it was not reasonable for us to expect all entrees to be available, and we should not receive discounts for the slow service and limited selection.
I contacted the overall manager of food and beverage for Snowbird and left a message, as the switchboard told me to file a formal complaint about this incident. This manager never returned my call.
I called the manager of the Wildflower and relayed my story. She assured me that she would resolve the issue within 24 hours and get back to me. She never did so.
The service at the Wildflower was horrible and the waitress was exceedingly rude. The management does not seem to handle problems. In an industry where service is "king" (tourism), this is inexcusable. I am also put off by management which assumes "out of sight, out of mind" once customers have left the resort. Not only could I not recommend the Wildflower to subsequent patrons, but I would urge them to avoid this establishment. All food at Snowbird is very expensive and is of average quality. If the establishment's service is "below a mediocre standard", this is pretty much the icing on the cake to...
Read moreWhile we were waiting for our table, I over heard a family that had just finished dining say the food was horrible. We were a hungry party of five and it was too late to go anywhere else.
Wait staff was great however everything else was a disaster. Once we sat down, I noticed a few customers complaining to the manager so I told my family to place their order quickly since it looked like a lot of tables were waiting to place their orders. After placing our order, it took 1 hour and 45 minutes just to receive our 2 pizzas which were our appetizers. The pizzas were ok, one of them was a bit burned. We asked the waiter to bring our entrees ASAP. That took another 20 minutes and we all ordered the most basic pasta dishes. All 5 entrees were not edible. My spaghetti Pomodoro was a bowl of mush. The pasta was so badly overcooked that the spaghetti was in pieces. The sauce on top had absolutely no taste. My daughters penne pesto and my sons pasta were swimming in oil. My other son ordered a salad which was below mediocre and my husband’s pasta was horrible. Horrible food and...
Read moreWe have loved this restaurant for about 5 years since we started staying at Snowbird each year, but we simply can't justify going anymore. I just tried to order takeout wings for five people after a day of skiing, but the order size went from roughly 20 wings (I can't remember exactly) for ~$25 to six wings for just over $17. I was so taken aback at the answer when I asked for the price and order size that I was speechless for a moment on the call before politely ending the conversation to find a different option for dinner. As much as I enjoy Wildflower's wings and pizza, the menu options are significantly fewer this year and the prices are over double what they reasonably should be, so we'll find alternative options until the restaurant decides to stop...
