Edit: It appears they have had my pictures of the roaches found within my room here removed but left the picture of the hanging wires where the smoke detector SHOULD have been (required by law, you know, so you don't burn to death in your sleep). Not sure why my other photos aren't showing but I'll be contacting Google to fix this.
Massive health & safety violations. October 11, 2017
It's difficult to give this this one star as I know how often reviews of this nature are over looked, but please, I beg of you - read on.
We pulled in late, enticed by the lower price and a not immediately off-putting exterior. My wife and I had read the reviews, good and bad, and decided to gamble. Spoiler, we lost.
Inside the night window were two employees doing some paperwork. I approached the window and waited patiently for one of them to finish up at the computer and make his way to the front to speak to me through a tiny window I had to duck or stand back from to see in.
He took my payment and handed me my key cards. I walked the short distance to the room, wife and child in tow. The 'hardwood' floor was out of place and off color but not a deal breaker. The rest of the room looked like a fairly straightforward motel room... until we closed the door and watched several cockroaches scurry away. One stayed so kindly for a picture which I immediately took.
After some debate with my wife we settled on asking for a different room. A room not attached to the same building as the last one mostly due to the very, very tired 2 year old.
We were then shown to a room upstairs. While being fed every excuse under the sun about why the first room was such a fluke and not normal. New pest control. Probably came in from outside, etc.
The employee walked in with me, looked around a little and asked if this room was fine. I took a quick glance around and told him my wife and I would look and would let them know.
I don't know how I missed it but as soon as my wife walked in asked why wires were hanging from the ceiling where the smoke detector should have been. The bed sheets had hair all over them, stains everywhere and as we finished checking for bedbugs turned to see... yep, you guessed it - another roach scurrying across our wall.
We, in unison, said "NOPE!", asked for a refund (which still hasn't gone through) and left.
Avoid this place like the plague, because if you don't you may literally...
Read moreMy first thought entering the room was Wyndham needs to remove their name from this property. Wyndham is always my first choice. This place is horrid. There is Security that walks around, enjoying the company of the tenants. It appears that the whole bottom floor is for live in people and top floor is for the nightly renters. The property is gated. However, none of that stops the tenants that live there from partaking in the night life party styles. Woke up to garbage, beer cans and cigarettes all over the grounds. The room was dirty and very run down. Cigarettes burns in the blankets of both beds. The top blankets had not been washed, as the fresh stains and animal hair made it obvious. Carpet full of stains. Room 205 is the one we stayed in. The fridge was broke, light worked, but was hot and stunk. No face towels. TV didn't work. No sign of bed bugs or any bugs. We were grateful to have our own items to sleep on! We would have left, if it weren't for the no refund policy. I will be contacting corporate to get a refund and report thus place. My daughter, who was in another room that was worse than mine is a Wyndham employee. I despise leaving bad reviews, but this place is for the late night people. I imagine it being where hooked and drug users would be...
Read moreI chose this place based on the good reviews and pricing on hotelengine. I don't know how this place got good reviews but my experience here was not great. The room I booked (which was a non-smoking room) reeked of cigarettes. They were able to accommodate us and give us a new room. I give them props on that. However, the beds were cheap and so hard. It was difficult to sleep on. The fact that I paid around $200 for two nights. It was not worth it at all. The wifi was slow so I didn't even use it. The blankets were dirty and when I slid under the blanket, I felt some stuff on the bed sheet as if it was not cleaned nor changed out. Also, the second day when I came back to the hotel, the key/card to my room was not working. I had to go to the front office and wait for 10 minutes before someone showed up. While waiting at the office, there were homeless people arguing on the sidewalk in front of the hotel. Pretty ghetto area I'd say. I've stayed at many hotels for my travels before and this was my worst experience. Aside from the bad experience, here are some pros: it was easy to find parking, didn't need parking pass, they provided free breakfast, and it was close to some shopping areas...
