This review is going to be very detailed and very long. I was a guest in with my friend as stated for event at the hotel. Everything went wrong and was not solved.
First I want to start by thanking Emily for her pet and helping us along the way. That is the only good part of this stay was her help
When you first arrived to our hotel and got checked in and went to our room a pond expecting the room there was some type of stain on the ceiling that we could not put a answer to. My friend that was the head of the room went down and explained it to him and while we were out they would see what they can do or see if they can clean it. Because we are terrified it might be mold or some type of bacteria. We came back and nothing was solved their resolution was moving to another room. We moved from room 1223 to room 1206. This room was met with the main bedroom with water damage above the TV. We also explained to him we did not know if it was safe or there was any bacteria from the water damage that they stated that happened in the building. We were assured that there was nothing wrong with it. But they had decided that they wanted to keep us safe and put us in another room. From 1206 to 1212. Upon getting in the room the door was already open. There are keys on the ground inside. There was construction stuff splattered everywhere and tools laid awry. And it looked like the room was in maintenance and a crime. The gentleman Stephen set the room was ready and there is nothing wrong with it. But when we got to the new room of 1212. It looked horrible. This is when we encountered Emily and she had to ask if we would like to move to another room down a couple flights. We were tired and we were fed up with the moving in the rooms without guarantee. We had asked him if it was guaranteed but they could not give us a definite answer. So we stayed in our room 1206.
The full night we finally got to stay in a room the AC was broken it was making a clicking noise so we weren't able to sleep well. We told the downstairs team but they did not send anyone to fix the issue so we had to constantly hear the ticking noise.
We decided to go have drinks at the bar one night and upon leaving the bar we went to the bathroom. Upon me flushing the far end of the men's bathroom the pipe that holds together the flusher. Broke and sprayed and covered me in water. There is no towels and I asked the bartender for a towel and she only gave me napkins. As we were going to go out to an evening event we had to cancel our plans. And I had to go get a change of clothes.
The bathroom door was broken where it would not lock. And we called and maintenance never came and fixed it.
Last was Sunday at 1 am we were sleeping and a pond me waking up. My friend could here the people in 1205 having a party. Loud, rude, and throwing things around. We called down stairs and the desk person said they would send security up. That was a lie as we heard the phone ring next door and they quited down and answered the phone. (The walls are paper thin) And 40 mins later. They were back at it again. We called. And the front desk person said "oh they said they were sleep we will send security up. 230am came. And no security just young kids having a wild party. By 4am it was still going on. So we packed up and left because why would you want to deal with this abuse and no resolution. We went to check out and the desk lady said they were doing an audit and could not give a print out and my friend would receive an email. Also when taking the elevator down we can see rooms having parties and one room had a bouncer to watch the door. And there was claim there Niwas no noise complaints. I find that hard to believe.
Last My friend tried to get in contact with the GM Nigel cossey as Emily said he would be there Monday. He called. He was not at work and his team stated they didn't know why he didn't show up to work. As I am a general manager in the Auto industry we don't do that and we let our team know if we can't come in. Unprofessional. NEVER STAY...
Read moreWe’re currently packing up to check out of our room and I’m furious! My husband and I came for a conference in a neighboring hotel. Even though that hotel was offering a group rate my husband and I decided to stay here. We love the breakfast and complementary drinks. We check in late on Friday with only enough time to throw our bags down and head out. When we got to the room it was FREEZING! I’m talk teeth chattering cold.. the metal door handles were like touching ice. Again, we’re late so we run out the room thinking we’ll just turn the heat up when we return. The conference runs late so we didn’t make it back to the room until after 10pm. We get in and yea it’s still freezing, so I immediately turn the thermostat up. We got ready for bed as we knew we had an early morning ahead. We went to bed thinking the room will warm up in an hour or so. My husband and I were so exhausted we crash and sleep through the night. I wake up and my husband and I are wrapped in the blanket like we’ve been swaddled, I’m talking blankets to our necks! Well again, we have to be out of here in about 45mins so I decide we’ll call maintenance when we return. Now upon returning at 4pm Saturday I immediately call for maintenance. They confirmed he’ll be to our room shortly. My husband and I decided to hang out on the balcony for a while to finally unwind and warm up a bit until maintenance arrived. Well now it’s almost 6pm so I tell my husband we’re going to miss the drink special let’s go talk to the front desk. We go down and the attendant assured he’ll be right up.
Maintenance arrived and he was amazing! Very nicely he explained that the hot water hose was not “turned on” for the heater to work in the room. He turns it on and immediately to room started to warm up. We’re like great! We’ll let the room warm up while we go have drinks downstairs. This was my husband and I quality time WITHOUT the kids and our fur babies so we didn’t rush. We get back to the room and it’s like a SAUNA! I immediately turn the thermostat down to cool it off... Now we have reservations at a steak house in an hour so we get dress in the smoldering heat, it was so hot I couldn’t put my makeup on because I was sweating uncontrollably! So again, we’re like it will be cool by the time we get back from dinner. We arrive back at our room around midnight, the room is still HOT! Like extremely hot, I call maintenance and a different guy shows up. He said oh I’ll just disconnect the hot water… I’m like no, we just had it connected because it was freezing before. Now it all makes sense! I ask is there any way he can turn it down instead? He said he couldn’t and that we can change rooms. Again, it’s midnight and we check out in the morning. I told him it wasn’t worth packing up and moving. We decided to just turned the unit off completely and deal with whatever temperature the room cools down to. Now here we are upon checkout and I realize how I was literally miserable the entire time I’ve been in this room. I came here with a good attitude and excited for the quality time with my husband. Outside of the room temperature our door is broken.. we have to pull it so hard to close it because we’ve come back to the room several times and our door was not locked. We realized it gets stuck so you have to put your back into it! Lastly our toilet has been running nonstop.. these are both very small issues but when you add them to the temperature I’m furious! So here I am typing out this longggg review while my husband (who had a great time by the way, without a care in the world lol) packs the room. I’m so disappointed, because obviously this is a known issue as I feel like the previous occupants may have also complained. Because with this experience I’ve realized that I would much rather be freezing cold than hot!
I regret not staying at the hotel hosting the conference as the breakfast and drinks were not worth the headache. We will definitely think twice before...
Read moreThis is the worst Embassy Suites that I have ever stayed at. TLDR: just avoid this hotel!!!
The first room I was assigned was a complete mess and absolutely disgusting. There was hair all over the bed and floor. There was a dirty, used Q-Tip on the floor. There was a poop stain on the seat of the toilet! The shower was continuously dripping and obviously had been so for a long time, as there was a huge calcium deposit right where the water was dripping. I immediately went back to the front desk and asked for a new room.
The new room was generally more clean, but it had a strong musty / damp smell. Compared to the first room, though, it was an improvement. However, there was rarely hot water available in the shower (luke warm at best and downright cold at the worst), and I was given towels with disgusting stains on them.
My company had booked a large room block and several conference rooms over the course of two weeks, so we were expecting decent treatment and facilities. We didn't get what we paid for. The first conference room we had was so cold that everyone had to wear jackets. We repeatedly asked for the temperature to be adjusted, but the hotel staff were unable to change it.
A couple of other notes: there were hundreds upon hundreds of cheerleaders staying at the hotel in groups right after one another. The youngest ones were out of control. They ran all over the hotel and repeatedly ran up to my door, banged on it as well as the window facing the atrium, and then would run off. My partner was trying to work from the room during several of the days we were there and was interrupted frequently. These cheerleaders were even throwing shoes and sandals at doors. I finally went out and asked them to stop. When I did this, a red-neck"chaperone" who clearly had no idea of what her job was supposed to be, came out and cussed me out like the low life she is, as she thought her girls had the god-given right to do absolutely whatever they wanted, regardless of how much it disrupted the rights of other guests. I had to call the front desk and ask security to come up to the floor to deal with the situation.
This hotel apparently caters to large groups of insufficiently supervised pre-teens. The least the hotel could do it to make other groups aware of their practices during the booking process, as I guarantee you my company would not have spent the large $$$ amount we did if we knew this hotel was going to be overrun by out of control, unsupervised kids.
Ok, want to hear the worst part? One of my colleagues had a room with a balcony, and he went out on it late one night after getting back from dinner and team events. The slider behind him closed, and the handle to the door was completely missing. He got locked out on his balcony after midnight. Luckily he had his cell phone with him, and he was able to call the front desk. Maintenance had to break into his room to rescue him, but what would have happened if he didn't have his cell phone on him?
The condition of the hotel and apathetic relationship staff have towards cleanliness and basic maintenance is not only disturbing but wreckless and a huge liability. Save yourself the frustration and stress, and just stay somewhere else. There are plenty of nicer hotels...
