I shop at Nordstrom every other day I love the products and normally I love the service, although I do not want to say to much negative but I came across someone new (manager of beauty) and had a upsetting experience, as a regular customer I don’t think I should feel that I shouldn’t buy from the current associate and the have to ask when the next associate comes in because I did not want buy from this manager I was displeased with the situation because I thought the goal was to sell me the product and she did the opposite made me feel uncomfortable by lecturing me on how “osha doesn’t allow you to smell products without a tester” I understand entirely the policy and have no problem following it but I did not need to be talked down to and have an argument with this lady it was very odd I guess it was more important to lecture me about something I did wrong I sat there and just tried to tell her that the way she was speaking to me made me not want to buy product and that I don’t appreciate being talked down about smell testing a product I wanted to buy but she didn’t want to her that I guess she just kept going. I only want to say that you never know what kinda customer walks into your store don’t judge off of looks alone treat them as customers not like an employees. I ended up walking away empty handed and Nordstrom lost a sale let alone to someone who spends money every other day at Nordstrom I will continue to shop there because I love the normal associates I hope I do not have to have another...
Read moreMy 22 year old daughter drove from downtown Dallas to the Nordstrom at Stonebriar Centre. She preferred that store because, "The workers are always so nice and helpful."
The store was not crowded. She visited Hosiery, Denim (rag & bone), and TopShop.
In the Hosiery department, a saleswoman started to approach her; made eye contact; looked her up and down; turned her back; and walked away. A second saleswoman in the same department began to walk toward her, made eye contact, then turned help someone at the other side of the department. That other person had not asked for help, and told the employee immediately. The saleswoman never returned to my daughter.
Next, she went to Denim. In this case, one of the women ignored her completely. The other assessed her, walked away, and found a task to look busy.
Finally, she tried TopShop. They were wonderful and gave her the kind of service to which she's accustomed to receiving at Nordstrom.
My daughter was well dressed, well groomed, armed with a Nordstrom card, and a generous clothing allowance. She looks a little young for her age. Maybe that's why the saleswomen didn't care to help her. I assume they work on commission, and triaging the clientele, they chose to help those whom they perceived to be the best opportunity; or maybe they just thought it would be a waste of time.
After leaving Nordstrom, she went to NorthPark and spent her clothing allowance with her...
Read moreI am a die hard Nordstrom fan and have been to many, many locations including others in the DFW area. Unfortunately, I must agree with the reviews below who say this location does not live up to the Nordstrom name in any way. I have shopped in the beauty department as well as fashion department, and service was sorely lacking in both.
The worst was by far the beauty department. The sales people run the gamut, including extremely pushy, and completely disinterested. One of the ladies was so very pushy, it made me really uncomfortable. She insisted that she looked much younger than her age, thanks to a product that she swears by, which conveniently, was one that I was interested in. It was an outright lie too since I know for a fact that it's a product that has come out in the last couple of years, and she insisted she's been using it for 20+ years. It was just a really cheap sales tactic.
On the other end of the spectrum, I waited 10+ minutes to be helped at one of the counters, while sales assistants were chatting with each other at the next counter. They did not acknowledge my presence in any way, until I physically walked the few feet that separated us and asked for help. Once I was helped, the service was very curt - not a smile nor a kind word was offered.
I am used to friendly, personable, accomodating yet never pushy service from Nordstrom and this location is nothing of the sort. It is...
