Six Veterans came from various parts of the city to go to Perry’s Steakhouse in Frisco for Veterans Day celebration. Our reservations set all parties present we were seated, announce to the waiter that we were Veterans at Perry’s for the meal. He told us that we get a $50 credit and Thank us for our service. We proceeded to order off the menu that we had in front of us. At no time from reception to seating at the table to taking our order, did anyone tell us or put in front of us a Veterans menu for Veterans Day. When we got our bills, we noticed that we did not have any credit at all. So we called the first level floor manager to the table to request our Veterans discount that was advertised and confirmed by our waiter. He went to hostess stand and came back and told us that we did not order off the Veterans menu and we explained that we did not receive that menu. Noor were we told by our waiter that there was a different menu. First level manager did not know what to do other then to tell us that he could not give us the adverted $50 off our food. Next a lady upper level or restaurant manager explain why where not getting the $50 each off our food. Once again we explained what happened. She listened for a few minutes and went away. The first level floor manager came back with new receipts for $25 off our food. We sat for 30 to 45 minutes after finishing our food waiting for some level of management to perform GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE, which clearly didn’t happen. The experience had been fantastic up to this point. Perry’s management could not handle Simply giving the discount that was advertised for Veterans. Having us setting at the table waiting for them to resolve this issue. Not that this played a roll in what happened but all 6 Black Veterans felt that we were not heard and was not treated correctly. We continued to talk about how that felt for the rest of the night and we are still talking about what happened to our community today Sunday. This is just a failure on Perry’s On-Site management to resolve a simple customer service issue. At no point did they communicated to us that we needed to have Veterans menu’s and also communicated to us that they were only gonna give us a $25 discount. They just came back and put it in front of us and said like take it or leave it. I would not recommend the Perry’s in Frisco and will continue to communicate the story to people in my community and anyone I come in contact with it was just not fair, ...
Read moreMy wife and I went to Perry’s for our 9th Wedding Anniversary as we kept hearing great things about it, and we were not disappointed. Andrew, our waiter, was awesome and super friendly. Congrats on the recent engagement! While we were waiting to order my wife and I were going through the menu and found a few things, I was very interested some of the cocktails, and what caught my eye was a Manhattan with BBQ sauce called the Perry's Hog-Hattan. I asked bout it and he told us that it was a specialty. I ordered it and it comes with Pork Chop Bites and Luxardo cherries on top, which was mouthwatering and practically melted (in a good way) in your mouth. Funny as another waiter came by and saw that I didn’t have this and he brought me more, when I said my wife and I ate them he laughed and said it is on the house. My wife got the Bubbly Black Rose, which she really loves as well
For the appetizer we ordered the Cherry Pepper Calamari, which was phenomenal, but they really undersold the spicey part. It was HOT and I mean HOT. I was only banana peppers and something else, but while dinning on it my wife and I had clear sinuses afterwards. The way that it was prepared you didn’t need any dipping sauce at all, and it just smelled so good.
For the main course we wanted to split the Perry's Famous Pork Chop and Three Cheese Mac & Cheese. My co-workers stated that the Pork Chop required two people, and while I wasn’t 100% in agreeance before, when I saw it come out on two plates, I was astounded at the size of it. The favors of each section were great, and it was so tender as well. My wife couldn’t finish hers, but I helped in the regards. The only small thing I would point out is the amount of fat that was on the chop was a lot more than normal, not an issue overall, but still thought I should point that out. The mac and cheese was awesome, the texture and flavors were just off the charts.
We were stuffed and not going to get dessert, but since it was out anniversary, they gave us the dessert trio. It was TINY portions, but great since we could barely lift a fork. I LOVED the pumpkin cheesecake that they had; wish I got a full one to go for later. My wife really enjoyed the Crème Brulée, and we both enjoyed the Chocolate Crunch.
Overall great experience and perfect for our anniversary.
The only thing that was a bit of an irritant is the entire front of the restaurant was blocked off for valet parking and the only available parking was way...
Read moreCeliacs be warned! Yes, Perry's has a marked menu of "gluten-friendly" options, but if you have Celiac disease like me, you need to tell your waiter that you're Celiac.
We went to Perry's Steakhouse for Father's Day yesterday. I ordered the symphony kabob ($65) that's supposed to come with truffle merlot demiglace and peppercorn reduction sauce. This is marked as "gluten-friendly" yet when my meal came out, I didn't receive the two sauces. The waiter told me that the chef said they're not gluten-free because they contain soy sauce.
While my waiter knew his stuff & asked me if I'd like a lemon butter sauce, if you don't speak up and mention your exact autoimmune disease, you might be glutened if only looking for the "gluten-friendly" sign on the menu.
"Gluten-friendly" should be for foods not made in a shared fryer, pot of boiling water and without gluten ingredients but in a shared kitchen where cross contamination cannot be 100% mitigated. It should not be used for items that contain gluten in their ingredients.
This is a bad practice by @perrys_steakhouse to include something with gluten in it and have it marked with that symbol because not everyone speaks English and may just be looking for the symbol and not everyone is comfortable discussing their medical issues in front of others (especially if you're at a business dinner) and may just assume a marked item on the menu is safe.
You wouldn't mark an item as "seafood free" and include fish sauce in the ingredients because you're catering to people who don't like fish rather than people who have to avoid it for medical reasons, so in the same vein, marked gluten-friendly/free products shouldn't contain gluten ingredients in them either.
I love going to Perry's, our meal was fantastic and I wasn't glutened thanks to me disclosing my autoimmune disease prior to ordering, but this is a safety issue that should be addressed by corporate.
In other notes, the corn brulee is an item we hadn't ordered in the past and OMG it was fantastic. That's going on the regular rotation just like the pork chop and creamed...
