The TL; DR is this hotel is great, new and fresh! A must Stay! ... Now for a little longer review: This hotel is just at 2 weeks open as of the writing of this review. And it shows!I stayed for 3 nights during the week, ending on Friday morning. To start, the carpet smells brand-new as well as the fresh smell of paint. The design is very modern, but still very minimalist is appearance. I arrived to a very helpful hostess who got me checked in quickly and explained the amenities to me. I came down later to ask for a restaurant around that would cater to my Keto diet and she went right to researching for me! Super helpful! The room I got was a King Single which came with a pull-out couch. This hotel is non-smoking. The room was very clean and modern. I had to call the front desk because I thought the A/C unit didn't work, but it was controlled by a wall unit like in any modern house or apartment. A lot more modern than some other hotels. The hotel is right across the street from the Toyota Soccer Center and less than a mile from what I called "Downtown Frisco" where the library is located, as well as many restaurants and businesses. The fitness center is really nice and guest are offered 24/7 access to the wash room, though there is only 1 washer and 1 dryer. There is a outdoor pool, but as this hotel just opened, it is not fully complete. I wouldn't count this as a negative as it was raining during my trip and it is February as of this writing. I expect it to be complete by the time this weather warms up enough to swim outside. The free breakfast was pretty good, but I suspect that as this was a newer hotel, one day there was no meat for the breakfast, and being on Keto it was harder, but there were still egg omelettes so I didn't go without eating. But for those with a more open diet, there were a lot more possibilities from waffles to oatmeal and cereal. The next day they must have known as they stacked up on the bacon and turkey sausage. Double meat that day. There were not many things to complain about. When I came back each day, my room was completely remade as if I was entering again for the first day. The hotel is still finishing up a few cosmetic things, but this is definitely a great hotel to be at. Whenever I am back in town, this if definitely my first...
Read moreIn the last 6 years, I have stayed 40+ nights in this hotel; this is the last time I will ever set foot in it! Upon 3:30PM check in, the front desk person was VERY unhelpful, unprofessional, non-caring about my advance reservation top floor room request; absolutely NO customer service. Next morning's conversation with the General Mgr was condescending and non-productive; my wife and I certainly did not feel any more appreciated after. After my Saturday morning run, 10AM shower was NO HOT WATER ! 9PM Saturday night. STILL NO HOT WATER. Front desk person said, hot water tank was out and their maintenence person repaired Saturday afternoon and it should be providing hot water at 11PM ! 9AM Sunday morning AFTER 24 HOURS OF ONLY COLD WATER, we expressed to front desk our disappointment ; were told this would be relayed to General Mgr when he returns next day/Monday ! ALSO on Sunday, we spoke to two VERY ANGRY couples that actually checked in the previous afternnon /Saturday and WERE NOT IMMEDIATELY INFORMED THERE WAS NO HOT WATER ! ADDITIONALLY, DAY 1, 2 & 3 we informed front desk that nearby room 210 occupants were disgustingly depositing garbage and uneaten food IN THE HALL OUTSIDE THEIR ROOM! Day 1, we asked that if they were remaining in that room, management should require them to stop their repulsive behavior. Day 2 same continued and we AGAIN asked front desk that management should require them to stop their repulsive behavior. Day 3 same continued and we AGAIN asked SAME front desk personnel that management should require them to stop their repulsive behavior. WHAT A SAD JOKE OF A HOTEL THIS...
Read moreI will start this by saying I stayed in a Holiday Inn Express in Fort Myers A WEEK prior to this trip.
I typically prefer Holiday Inn Express for hotel, it's always a value, the rooms or usually very clean along with the hotel property. Expresses never seem to fail; however, and it could have just been my room alone, this property seems like it is in the middle of upgrading from a previous hotel. My room was #127, great location to just leave out the back door, but the room felt very old and dingy. My blinds were un hooked from the moving sliders and WAY too tall for me to go up and fix, my toilet seat was extremely loose, the lamp that is suppose to be screwed into the wall was leaning forward both screws fully out of the walls, 2 lights were broken in the room, the tiles along the outside of the shower was corroded and rusted while coming off the wall, the toilet water ran endlessly every time the sink was on, shower pressure was weak on every setting the nozzle ran. Not to mention almost every Holiday Inn I've stayed in the bathroom walls are a bright white or tiled. My room had a dingy brown paint, made the room pretty dark.
The icing on the cake was the MASSIVE cockroach in the breakfast area one morning laying on its back which is pretty gross.
Would I recommend this hotel? Yeah, it's still a great chain of hotels and value, I would just say do not stay on the first floor. I had friends on other floors who said their rooms were nothing like mine...
