Red Roof Inn Gaffney — Hotel in Gaffney

Me, my finance and our dog needed a room for the night. After seeing online your location in Gaffney, SC was perfect for our travels. I made a reservation online. I clicked the “traveling with pet” box & checked in a little after 2. The lady at the desk was rude from the start. I told her I had a dog & she put me in a smoking room so I assumed that was why. My dog is a service dog. Very well behaved. We took her out once during the evening. They have cameras everywhere and my finance said she saw them when he took her out. Fast forward to 10 am housekeeping started knocking. My dog barks to alert me of someone at the door. That’s the only time she barks until it’s an emergency. I told housekeeping we were packing to leave. She comes back 5 mins later and tells me the lady at the front desk wanted to speak to me. She accused me of not telling her about the dog and told me to “check out” she was so rude. We were leaving anyway but she refused so give me back my 40$ deposit because of my service dog. The one I declared to her the day before. I’ve never been treated so poorly in my 36 years. My dog did no damage, wasn’t a bother to anyone & according to her she didn’t even know she was there! Which was a lie. I told her & seems like to me she just didn’t want to give me back my deposit. she needs some training on customer service.

Beware!! My kids and myself needed somewhere to stay while the finishing touches were being put on our place. So we decided to camp out here for a night or two thinking it would be a fun mini vacation for us. We checked in and the clerk was very pleasant. We went to the room put our things down and I began to sanitize the room with lysol. I reached one side of the room where I noticed a puddle of something wet. Then the smell hit me! It was urine!!! All on the floor and the bed. I called the front. The lady apologized and switched out our rooms. We settled in and then heard a knock on the door. It was the owner, which we found out later. He was upset. He ask what was wrong with the other room. I walked over showed him the puddle and he smelled the bedding. He began screaming how he washed and changed the sheets himself and how the room had been cleaned. I explained to him that clearly that room had not been cleaned. He began the throw the sheets off screaming "I change them I change them and you go". I explained to him that if he was going to behave that way about his poorly kept establishment them we would not stay and I wanted a full refund. This made him even more angry. I did get a full refund after a week time. One would think that after a murder suicide in your establishment that wasnt found until weeks later one would grateful to have any business at all. The owner clearly didn't like my review so let me clarify my stay. We got to hotel got our room we walked down hallways to room the door was open we then noticed we had no towels so went to ask house keeper she then stated she didn't clean the room all the way. So they rented us a dirty room the staff was very rude anytime we walked in lobby. we have two autistic kids my son took off running then to come to find out when we returned the 2nd time on our way home we went to rent a room ontgean olny person behind desk said we had dnr on us because of our kids yes it was said to us just like that can't tell me it didn't happen you were not there. The one staff that was friendly the guy said she was fired two days ago why fire the good staff and keep rude ones. We like the hotel that's why we came back we stayed there 3 years ago had a good experience. No problem then as you can see the owner don't know what goes on at his business cause he lyed about everything we had 5 people tell me I'm lying again you were never there to know what happened. Yes he did tell us why and if you don't like that. Take up with your staff not your customer and if you want good reviews shape up your workers and don't rent durty rooms tell there clean and should I mention how the house keeper made us take out our own trash thank you...
