I went to El Michoacán on a hot summer day after walking around what’s left of the Gaffney outlets. We were tired and hungry, so this place looked like a good spot to cool off and grab some food. One of the best things right away was the free salsa bar. It had a bunch of different sauces and dips. If you go, please try the chipotle sauce and their pepper salsa. Both were so good with the nachos, I honestly could’ve just eaten that. We didn’t waste much time and ordered right away. I got the chipotle chicken. To be honest, it wasn’t what I expected. I thought it would be covered in chipotle sauce, but it came out pretty dry with just a lot chicken strips, a bunch of lettuce, and some rice. I ended up mixing in a bunch of sauces from the salsa bar, which made it better and more enjoyable. My girlfriend ordered a vegetarian dish, but there was a bit of confusion. What she got wasn’t exactly what she asked for, probably just a miscommunication with the server. We didn’t say anything since we were hungry and just wanted to eat. Overall, the place was nice inside and had a comfortable vibe. The food was alright once we made it work for us. For the price, it’s a pretty good deal. I’d still recommend it to anyone in the area looking for a chill and affordable Mexican spot.

I love Mexican food and not being able to give this restaurant a 5 star review was hard. The service was fantastic; The atmosphere was perfect; the food wasn't what I expected. I ordered a steak dish and the steak was cooked perfected. However, it was very bland. It came with beans, cactus salad , and chunky guacamole. The steak, guacamole, and cactus salad were very bland. BUT the Charro beans were some of the BEST beans I've had in a long time. **Do not let my review stop you from trying this restaurant. Food is an individual experience. I may not have enjoyed this as much as others but you may!

Very good Americanized Mexican diner. Known to locals as the Silver Taco because it’s in a chromed exterior former diner. Instant chips at table with two good sauces. The chorizo queso dip is Precious’ favorite. Very good. I have fajitas one visit (very good) and the grilled chicken with spinach queso sauce (excellent). Very moderately price menu with a ton of choices.

We went during lunch hours and though the service was good, the food was absolutely deplorable. The salsa is basically ketchup, and the second mystery sauce is just that, with a thin consistency and hardly any flavor. We ordered a basic ground beef taco along with a chicken taco. Neither of the meats had any seasoning and the ground beef is probably of the lowest quality that is legally allowed to be served to the public. Additionally, we ordered a chile relleno. By definition a chile relleno is, " .... a dish in Mexican cuisine that originated in the city of Puebla. In 1858 it was described as a "green chile pepper stuffed with minced meat and coated with eggs". The most common pepper used is Puebla's poblano pepper, though New Mexico chile, pasilla, or even jalapeño peppers are popular as well ". What we received was approximately 4 oz of the unseasoned ground beef that was covered with cheese, and more than likely pushed under a broiler to disguise the lack of any sort of pepper. When I asked that it be removed from the bill, as I refused to pay $3.25 for a scoop of cheese coated ground beef, I was told that that was just ' how they did it ' at that restaurant, I was wrong, and all throughout Mexico it was normal to have unseasoned ground beef covered in cheese, served as a chile relleno; despite the fact that THERE WAS NO CHILE present. Though the item was taken off of the bill, the manager was rude, the food was nigh inedible, and there was an unstated 3% charge added to our bill for using debit. We will never be returning to this location again, and I would highly advise anyone who considers stopping here to spare themselves a disappointing experience and find...

TLDR: Service good, Food terrible, Fake Chili Relleno. Do not eat!

We will start with the good, then the bad. The part that was good was the service. The staff was prompt, quick, and kept our drinks filled. Now time for the bad. What was ordered and rating: Beef Taco - 1/10 Chicken Taco - 3/10 Chili Relleno - 1/10 -The food was subpar at best. The beef meat that was used had the texture and taste of meat similar to canned meat like spam. -The chicken wasn't as bad but was pulled chicken, probably from a whole cooked chicken. -The real kicker is what they called a "chili relleno". For those unaware a chili relleno is a roasted poblano pepper stuffed with cheese, then coated in a fluffy egg batter and fried until golden brown. These can also be stuffed with meat and when going to a restaurant that serves proper ones (like Papa's and Beer) you are asked if you would like meat, should have been the first red flag. What was presented was a "pepper shaped" pile of the same meat they use for the tacos covered in cheese, and a small serving at that. Needless to say we did not eat this and requested it to be taken off the bill. The "manager"/host seemed to not want to take it off stating "That's a Chili Relleno, that's how we make it here." "That's how places around here make it also." No sir that's not a chili relleno. Don't be fooled by this. If you order this and it is not a stuffed poblano pepper you are being ripped off. Please save yourself the...
