We were @ CB in Gaffney, SC on Jan.19,2023 for the diner evening meal. None of us 4 liked our food. 3 of us got the almost $16.00 plate with beef tip, chicken & shrimp. I told her to leave my shrimp off because I don't eat any kind of sea food. She replied that they would not leave it off my plate. I asked for them to put my shrimp in a small bowl. They left it on my plate. So I gave it to my grown son. My chicken was fried & my beef tips I asked for medium well & it came out well done. I ordered a baked potato with butter only. It came out with butter & chives & bacon bites & sour cream. The waitress went & got me another one after replying they come like that (she talked hateful) & asked what I wanted on it & I said butter & chives. She replied it comes like that. But she did bring me another one but it was so cold the butter did not melt & it was not done. My son's girl friend asked for her chicken to be grilled. It came out like really flat & tiny pieces; it was so tiny a child would have fussed about it. She was unhappy. My son didn't like his either. My grandson ordered waffle & chicken. He didn't complain. Our biscuits were hard. My soda was empty for a long time. I also wanted to say we got 3 of the cheese cake with strawberry slice on to to go. But we said not to put the whip cream on top because we live in Grover, NC & it would be melted & soggie when we got home. The price on those cheese cakes was not worth the price of $3.50 each for the size. They were the size around as a silver dollar... I don't think I will ever eat at that CB in Gaffney, SC again... The one in Gastonia, NC has better food & better staff... The only thing about Gastonia is you have to wait for a table any where from 5 to 20 minutes for a table. They do have long lines; but it is well worth it. Now I know why the one in Gaffney does NOT have a line. You go straight in & they took you directly to a table... Gastonia Really ROCKS... Thumbs DOWN all the way...
Read moreThe food was delicious as usual but I have never had such service. The server started out very good then when my daughter asked for a clean spoon her attitude went completely sour. The second spoon was unwrapped and was also dirty so she asked for another. No one was blaming this girl as I myself worked as a server for over 10 years and these things happen. It took her awhile to come back with a spoon but that was alright too. When my daughter ordered a sweet potato with butter and brown sugar on the side , she specified only the butter and brown sugar because she is allergic to cinnamon. When the potato came there was cinnamon mixed in the brown sugar so she told our server and that was the last time we saw her. The girl admitted she didn't hear no cinnamon and no one was upset until we no longer saw her . Other servers brought our refills , a box and the bill while she hid behind the wall at the kitchen entrance which I plainly saw. Meanwhile her other table that had been sat behind us just sat there not even being greeted. Other servers even had to work her other couple of tables for no reason. We were more polite to her than I feel like she was to us. Very unprofessional character. This will in no way keep us from going again because we have always had good experiences with the other servers. I won't be sat with her again though. Made me feel...
Read moreWe visit our Cracker Barrel often. Typically we get great food and service. As much as we go we don't look to complain about something simple. Our visit two days ago was probably better than ever. We had a wonderful server and I just can't remember her name. I hope you can tie this to her. Anyway she was perfect in every way. She got to our table immediately, ask about our drink order and came back immediately. Took our order and didn't see her for about 2 minutes but here she comes again with refills of our coffee. Food came out quickly and was hot and very good. Of course we got refills again. All of that was as good as it gets. This day was different than any other day. First I worked in the restaurant business for 38 years and have a pretty good idea on how things work (hope so or I wasted 38 years) this day we were approached by a MANAGER that asked us about our meals and was everything ok. Now that seems like it should be old hat, right? We have been eating there for over 12 years, it wasn't always good but we still came for the food. Had a couple of complaints that nobody cared about because nobody ever came to listen. WE HAVE NEVER SEEN A MANAGER IN THE DINING ROOM, EVER. ONE WOULD STAND AT THE ENTRANCE TO THE KITCHEN AND THAT'S AS CLOSE AS IT GOT. So thank you Mr Manager it was a pleasure speaking with you. We look forward to seeing you again...
