I have to say I was beginning to get disappointed at Hilton properties because of hit or miss experiences as their various properties. I normally prefer to stay at Hilton properties for both work and leisure. I travel quite frequently because of work. This is my second week staying here and I have to say I'm quite impressed. Everyone, and I mean every employee, cleaning staff, front desk people. Everyone is so nice and accommodating. Felt like I was staying in a Bed and breakfast because I felt so at home and put at ease. Both weekly visits I got turn down service everyday without me having to ask. Front desk staff when out of there to share treats with all the guest. The property both inside and outside has been kept very clean. I can tell the employees here take pride in their work. It's evident. As a woman I also felt very safe. And I was even able to use the keyless check-in. I got to pick the room. Even when I got in super late from flight like after midnight the front desk people saw that I was hungry and thirsty and offered me some concessions. Very nice of them. They didn't have to do that. Overall, I have more confidence now in Hilton if they continue to have properties like this one. I've already told all my coworkers who also travel to stay here if they come into town. Thank you for making my stay so pleasant and relaxing. Also the hot tub is actually hot and the bubbles timer thing works lol. That may not seem like I big deal but I love hot tubs and pool. I normally will pick a hotel if they have both indoors. I will stay here again whenever I'm sent back out here....
Read moreAs frequent fly-by-the-seat-of-our-pants road-trippers, we rely heavily on reviews and finding ones without petty concerns are hard to come by. So here is one free of the nonesense.... On first impression, the hotel is a bit dated but don't let that discourage you. The gentlemen at the front desk were super kind and helpful. Even when our son accidentally spilled his entire drink in the entryway, they were quick to not make him feel worse about it and helped us clean up. The room was super clean and free of funky smells (I wasn't sure since they allow pets). The beds were very comfy and A/C was super cold. No issues with hot water at all. Speaking of pets, they were very accomodating of our little guy, even including local pet resources such as an emergency vet, dog park and pet store. They also had a very large green space to run around with him and take him potty. Finally, breakfast in the morning was super convenient and filled our bellies. It is not 5-star dining but I would hope that would not be one's expectation. It was good enough and had plenty of variety. They even had to-go breakfast packed for those on the run. This is a worry-free place to stop for a good night's sleep and warm breakfast to send you on your way...
Read moreI stayed at the Hampton Inn in Gallipolis, Ohio, in September 2025. Here is a summary of my experience: POSITIVE Clean Room Functioning Room Good breakfast food Friendly breakfast attendant WiFi working
NEGATIVE Difficult to see driveway entrances at night. Suggest putting lighting at each entrance. Denied top floor room, although it is in my Silver member profile as a request. Heard front desk person give another person a room on that floor when I arrived. Assigned room was behind elevator shaft. Could feel and hear vibration of elevator during entire stay. Air conditioning in room was blowing directly on the bed. Woke up with a sinus headache. Only 1 elevator. Most Hampton Inn locations have 2 elevators. WiFi was only about 10 Mbps. Sufficient, but not efficient. Had to remind the front desk person that I was a Silver member. Then they gave me the complimentary water. It is normally automatic. Some employees hanging out at front entrance during breaks for smoking, phone calls, etc.
TIP If staying here in the future, checking in online, in advance, is the way to go. That way the customer can choose their own room, instead of being forced to the room behind the...
