Checked in here to go have our new baby at the nearby hospital a couple of days later Great place except a few things. The people had the halls smelling like marijuana. If you cannot stand smoke, be sure to ask for a non smoking room because they smell very strongly like smoke otherwise. The "no smoking in this wing" signs had us confused as we asked for a smoker's room but it is just there for certain rooms. Also the pool area had dirty towels thrown about and the hottub was stinky so we didn't get in. We had a jacuzzi in our room though so it didn't matter. The exercise equipment was soaked from people's kids running to it from the pool but it was decent equipment. The pool ladder had s bolt missing on a step and was broken. No big deals, at least not to us. The room seemed clean, housekeeping was kind. If you ask for a slightly late check-out in advance, be sure they write it down as they forgot with us and housekeeping came by to clean the room thinking we had left. The breakfast is decent with staff making fresh waffles on demand at breakfast, keeping everyone's hands from the food which is greatly appreciated. We used the washer and dryer which worked fine. The machine was out of laundry detergent but the attendant promptly gave us some when it took the money. The drink and snack machines only take cash, no cards. Slight issue with the building and room key card where we had reserved the room but it was also promptly taken care of. The bathroom and the mirrors behind the jacuzzi tub were clean. No sign of bugs anywhere, we checked. We would certainly stay here again and recommend the place as a quick, clean, budget hotel.

*Disappointing Stay at Super 8 by Wyndham Gallipolis I'm writing this review as a warning to others: beware of the Super 8 by Wyndham Gallipolis. My recent stay was a letdown, and I left feeling frustrated and disappointed. We booked two rooms with two queen-sized beds in each, but when we arrived, we were shocked to find only one bed in each room. I couldn't believe it – we had explicitly paid for two queens, and they didn't deliver. To add insult to injury, the hotel's solution was to bring in a small, signed camp bed. Yes, you read that right – a camp bed! It was like they thought we were on a camping trip, not staying in a hotel. The front desk staff seemed unconcerned and unapologetic about the mistake. They offered no other solution or compensation, leaving us to make do with the inadequate accommodations. To make matters worse, the rooms were not particularly clean or well-maintained. The overall experience was subpar, and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. *Tips for Future Travelers:* - Double-check your room assignment and amenities before checking in. - Don't hesitate to ask for a manager or supervisor if you encounter any issues. - Consider alternative hotels in the area – you deserve better. - And if they offer you a camp bed, politely decline and ask for a real bed! In conclusion, our stay at the Super 8 by Wyndham Gallipolis was a disappointment. We didn't get what we paid for, and the staff didn't seem to care. I hope this review will serve as a warning to others and prompt the hotel to improve their services.

Update 3/5/2024 Beds are super comfy. But no one came to check on our room for the 2 days we were there. Which was kinda disappointing. The free breakfast is from 6am to 9am. Did not find this out until the 2nd day. When I got there everything was being put away so I only got a couple packs of oatmeal and toast. Wifi although is free it isn't very good. They do have an indoor pool and hot tub in separate part of the building. They do have a washer and dryer for use by guests but they are pricey to use. Otherwise my favorite part was the jacuzzi tub (even though it leaked the entire stay) in the King Studio room absolutely the only and best part of the whole visit. Oh I forgot the safe in our room #236 did not work either no matter what we tried. -------------------------------------- If you decide to go here then I am sure you should know in advance. You must have a credit card they can charge AT LEAST $50 on top of the cost of the room. If you are paying straight cash at the time of this room booking a king size smoking room is $200 plus tax. 100.00 for room $100.00 deposit. Otherwise they say if you have a credit card they charge the cost of the room plus $50. Which will be returned back to your card in 7 to 10 days. But none of this was stated at the time I placed the reservation over the phone. This should be one thing that everyone should know. Shame, but I now understand why the hotels in Gallipolis Ohio are almost always empty.

Do not stay at this hotel, let me tell you why. Yesterday November 23 the ladies at the front desk blatantly lied, made fun of us, smirked, and disrespected us when we kindly inquired if we could have a room on the first floor. To be clear, we requested this in a note when we booked the room initially upon kindly asking them upon check-in if we could have A room on the first floor the lady checking us in (I hope the general manager sees this review and talks to her so others do not have to be embarrassed and disrespected like we were…she had dark hair and was chubby and worked the evening shift front desk) simply did not answer us and when I kindly ask her again she looked over at the other lady working smirked looked at us laughed and said that they were sold out this evening and this was the only room available. We are Wyndham reward customers and routinely stay in their hotels so upon on making it to our room I’ll check to see if they were in fact sold out. This hotel was not even a quarter of the way full meaning that the two ladies work working the desk not only disrespected us but blatantly lied in order to purposely deny a request for a first room floor. We were nothing but kind when asking and we were treated so disrespectfully that it has caused us to from now on not stay at Wyndham hotels. Please keep in mind that one of us has severe back and knee issues which is why we requested a first room floor. This was actually our second chance at giving this hotel opportunity to not even impress but to merely have average service. A few months ago we stayed for the Mothman festival and they hiked their rates up to over $400 for two days. Which is not only unprofessional but extremely bad business practices as the rooms were dirty, unpainted, had mold on the sconces, our shower simply did not work both days and when we requested some kind of discount due to the lack of a shower for a $200 a night dirty moldy room we were treated similarly like we were a huge nuisance and were disrespected. However, the lady at the front desk did give us a $50 off credit but considering that the hotel rooms were over $200 per night and dirty moldy…this in itself was an insult. They have been given multiple chances to just merely act professional and accommodating but they have failed both times. Save yourself disappointment and in our case severe back and knee pain, do not stay here. I wish someone at management would make this right because I hate leaving negative reviews but I cannot in good faith say nothing and know that someone else will suffer...

Front desk ladies was very polite,we had no issues with checking in. The location was perfect for the mothman museum we drove 4hrs to see and our next day trip of 2hrs to see the full eclipse. The rooms was clean but outdated no biggie but the walls are very thin hearing everything from the next room,we was on the first floor room 111 the hallway smelled of marijuana very strong. The pool was fine but the hot tub was disgusting it was yellow and had a strong smell of fish, I see other reviews saying the same, everyone that came in said the same not using it cause of the color, smell and you could see particles floating in it. Our biggest issue is with having kids we pick hotels for their hot breakfast, I called when making the reservation to verify breakfast& I was told what would be on it. The only hot item was eggs, every person at breakfast complained, 1 guy was very upset cause he had kids also saying eggs doesn't make it a hot breakfast and he's never seen eggs served without meat. Here's the worst by 7am almost everything was gone the lady said it's all she had, donuts granola bars& said only a few bagels was left. There wasn't any fresh fruit she said she had 4 fruit cups left, the lady working it was very kind it's not her fault but was getting the complaints from everyone handling it well.she told everyone hot breakfast is every other day which the website doesn't say this plus I called.there is a sign in the lobby saying hot breakfast daily and it changes day by day,egg patties isn't a hot breakfast it's a hot item of 1 thing. Running out of food in 1 hour of breakfast starting caused a lot of upset costumers. I would recommend this hotel for a night but not if you choose hotels based on hot breakfast included &hot tubs this isn't the place for you. I would've definitely paid another $30 for the holiday inn Express since I spent more than $30 on breakfast for my family. Also the vending machines are priced cheap so that was helpful not having to run out for snacks. I didn't give 5 stars because of the hot tub and breakfast issue also the wifi is horrible twice I went to the front desk for help and a man was there with the same problem the lady said she's getting complaints but all the lights was on the modem so she didn't know what the issue was,I see other reviews stating the...

Pass this place as quickly as possible. We rented 2 rooms because they only allow one dog per room. The first problem we noticed was the "secured" side doors that were supposed to be locked and you had to have a room key to enter were being held open with rocks, etc. We notified the front desk a couple of times. Mark was the only one that tried to keep them closed. We didn't use the 2nd room untill bed time. Our last night there, we were out and when we got back , went to the 1st room had dinner, watched a movie , spent à little time together. I was going to take my dog outside and go the 2nd room to sleep. As I walked by the room I thought I heard noise, took my dog out came back, tried my key, it didn't work and I could hear the shower. . I went to the front desk to ask why I couldn't get into my room and the front desk had rented it! We were never contacted or informed of changes. Who ever was at the front desk, for some reason, decided she would put them in my room and move me to a different room, that I was completely unaware of. Even if the person at the front desk didn't bother to check or ignored that the room was already rented and paid for, the person she put in it complained the room had been used and not cleaned. Which clearly showed the room was in use. Instead of changing them to a clean room, they must have had someone turn the room while the customer waited. Why? It's illegal to double rent a room. Very dishonest. We had no room key to access the room they moved me to. This could have become a horrible situation. We were completely unaware they double rented the room. What if I hadn't been so cautious? The person in that room would think someone was trying to break in. We would have thought someone had broken in. Mark, at the front desk tried to contact the owner 3 times before she responded. Her solution was to refund one night, which she had no choice. No apology, nothing but a refund she had to give. I will be contacting their corporate office, Consumer Affairs, the BBB, along with TripAdvisor, Expedia, Google reviews, Yelp. Mark was great in his attempt to rectify the situation and great with any contact. Mark should be in a...
